Iraqi Kills Daughter Recruited as al-Qaida Bomber

BAGHDAD (AP) — An Iraqi man killed his 19-year-old daughter after he discovered al-Qaida had recruited her as a suicide bomber in an area north of Baghdad, a police spokesman said on Friday.

Al-Qaida has been recruiting women for suicide attacks because they can pass police checkpoints easier than men by concealing explosives under an abaya, a loose, black cloak that conservative Muslim women wear. Suicide bombers have been al-Qaida’s most lethal weapon in Iraq, killing hundreds of civilians and members of Iraq’s security forces.

The killing of the young woman was discovered when security forces, searching for her on suspicion she had ties to al-Qaida, raided her father’s home Thursday outside the former Sunni-insurgent stronghold of Baqouba, 35 miles (60 kilometers) northeast of Baghdad, said Maj. Ghalib al-Karkhi, a police spokesman in Diyala province.

The father, Najim al-Anbaky, was detained in the raid. During questioning he told police he had killed his daughter, Shahlaa, a month earlier because he found out she intended to blow herself up in a suicide attack for al-Qaida, al-Karkhi told The Associated Press.

Al-Anbaky showed police what he said was the woman’s grave, al-Karkhi said. The father remains in custody and is under investgiation, but no charges have been made yet.

A police official at the interior ministry in Baghdad confirmed the killing. He spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media.

A female suicide bomber was behind one of the deadliest attack this year in Iraq, after she blew herself up among Shiite pilgrims Baghdad in February, killing 54 people.

In a separate incident Friday, a Shiite militia leader, his wife and three children were killed in a bomb attack on their home south of Baghdad.

The early morning blast leveled the militia leader’s home in Haswa, some 30 miles (50 kilometers) south of the capital, Babil province police spokesman Maj. Muthana Khalid said. Four people were also wounded in the blast.

A local policeman, Abdul-Salam al-Maamouri, identified the dead man as a commander in the Mahdi Army, the militia loyal to radical cleric Muqtada al-Sadr. The militia terrorized Sunni neighborhoods during the height of Iraq’s sectarian fighting in 2006 and 2007, and its fighters have been targets of retribution.

All I have to say is I am really glad that she was not able to carry out the attack against innocent people. I do not know enough of the facts to know if the father is a hero or using that as an excuse for murder. I really hope he had the most honorable intentions for the killing that is all I can say on that.

I can finally find some means to respect this guy an Islam.

I may not agree with the punishment, but at least this guy is not a hypocrite.

If you are willing to kill the infidel for defaming Islam, you better be prepared to do it to muslims who defame Islam. And that includes terrorists who have corrupted the word of Allah. Either you are about Peace or not. If you are, then you better weed out those muslims that taint and corrupt the Koran.

If the rest of Islam got together there would be 1/3 less muslims (according to some polls, that is the amount who believe killing for sake of religion is okay), and a lot more world peace.

What I don’t understand, is how these women can be recruited by a bunch of men who treat women like dogs! What did they promise her? Certainly not 72 virgins! Did they promise no marriage to an old man in the next life, or you won’t be beaten, or be forced to cover yourself from head to toe? I feel for that poor man, leave him alone…he is suffering enough.

    Bulldawg

The problem with modern day religion is that people like you try to scare people into loving thy neighbor. I was at a youth christian soccer game and was in disbelief when the speaker sat my kids along with another two hundred kids down and then explained to them that if they don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus, they are “Missing the Mark” It’s called indoctrination and it is only a little different then what the Muslims radicals teach there children in Madrases around the world and in USA where teaching to hate all who are not muslims is preached.

I take the road of one of our founding fathers who believed the churches had corrupted the good book and teachings to appease those in charge. Thomas Paine.

Glenn BECK said to work past your retirement and don’t have any golden years if you have saved up, instead donate to the CHURCH, give your 10% tith? I ask why Glenn? Why give to the very same churches that are destroying America and the once good values it stood for? Churches are the reason why illegal aliens are now 25-40 million strong. In Florida alone they will cost Floridians 4 billion dollars in just 3 outlays, Incarceration, education and health care. Why is it that churches support breaking the law to fill the pews and basket, doesnt this bother you? I think it is despicable.

My pastor speaks out against illegal immigration and tells his members shame on them for not supporting Constitutional values, tea party protests and anti illegal immigration protests, he scolds them, as he should.
Here is my pastor O,Neal Dozier speaking at the longest running weekly teaparty in the USA.

Dr O’Neal Dozier, Pastor “God is not a Socialist he is not a robin hood.”
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SOQMwbMhwU

There are a couple of good men on the pulpit speaking of constitutional values and trying to save America but it is not happening at your Church. Why are you still supporting a church who supports criminal behaviour?

Glenn Beck is pro Amnesty, http://www.diggersrealm.com/mt/archives/003426.html Glenn supports freedom watch who is pro Amnesty and IMO GB intentionally stole the momentum of the teaparty movement by having his 8/28 rally a week bofore the TEA 9/12 rally. HE did this so that he & Freedom Watch (GOP) could have some control over the teapartiers and use it to promote his TheBlaze news web site. I love GB because he has helped carry on what Ron Paul started and that is an awakening to the Constitution and the principles that made America great so he has done far more good than bad imo.

My point is the churches have FAILED US. They are as corrupt as the politicians. Secular Humanist are right about one thing. You do not need to believe in god or any higher being to be a good human being and a attribute to society. All this believe in him or your missing the mark and you did not give your tith and pray all day so your not on the list are foolish scare tactics that have been composed over the years to keep the baskets full. Jesus does not want me to do with out so a church can have a donation to help a illegal criminals, wake up people they are playing off of your emotions. If you all were to wake up one day and tell your pastor to wake up as well, we could be on a road to recover instead of the end of the republic.

    Best Regards,

    Merry Christmas

WETHEPEOPLEPRESS: You have missed the mark completely yourself. God never fails. Churches are the people of the congregation. The leaders of the church are suppose to instruct you in God’s Word. If they can‘t or won’t then it is up to you to find a Church that will or does. You telling us or someone else that you don‘t believe in God because the leader didn’t instruct you the way you thought you should be instructed is no excuse. God gives the Word to each and everyone of us, and it is up to us to accept it or reject it. Because when you are standing in front of Jesus on the judgment day, He is not going to accept that the church failed you. I hope and pray that you will find Him in your own way and will accept him.

As far as tithing goes, you are under the misguided thinking that all the materialistic things in your life belong to you. All this belongs to God and He can do with it as he pleases. He instructs us to give 10% of our income to Him. This is to help people that are not as fortunate as you. It is up to you to give it freely. If you can’t do it with a cheerful heart, then you might as well not give it because it will not reap you any rewards in heaven.

I really hope that you find God in your own time, but the point is that the poem is truthful and will happen one day. When it does there are going to be a lot of people doing just as this man but like it says. IT’S TOO LATE!!!!

Have a Merry and Blessed Christmas.

If we had more parents of the radicals do things like this and when their sons or daughters do blow themselves up if their parents would go on camera and tell the world that they were ashamed of their children perhaps we wouldn’t see nearly as many suicide bombers as we do now. Of course just killing them first would cut the numbers down.

‘Twas The Night Before Jesus Came’

‘Twas the night before Jesus came and all through the house
Not a creature was praying, not one in the house.
Their Bibles were lain on the shelf without care
In hopes that Jesus would not come there.

The children were dressing to crawl into bed.
Not once ever kneeling or bowing a head.
And Mom in her rocker with baby on her lap
Was watching the Late Show while I took a nap.

When out of the East there arose such a clatter.
I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash!

When what to my wondering eyes should appear
But angels proclaiming that Jesus was here.
With a light like the sun sending forth a bright ray
I knew in a moment this must be THE DAY!

The light of His face made me cover my head
It was Jesus! returning just like He had said.
And though I possessed worldly wisdom and wealth,
I cried when I saw Him in spite of myself.

In the Book of Life which He held in His hand
Was written the name of every saved man.
    He spoke not a word as He searched for my name;
When He said “it’s not here” my head hung in shame.

The people whose names had been written with love
He gathered to take to His Father above.
With those who were ready He rose without a sound.
While all the rest were left standing around.

    I fell to my knees, but it was too late;
I had waited too long and thus sealed my fate.
    I stood and I cried as they rose out of sight;
Oh, if only I had been ready tonight.

    In the words of this poem the meaning is clear;
The coming of Jesus is drawing near.
There’s only one life and when comes the last call
We’ll find that the Bible was true after all!

I think that the father killed her because his daughter was probably raped to be recruited.

They rape the woman they want to become a bomber, and once she has been stripped of her innocence and dignity, she is “guilty” of dishonoring Allah. Her only way out of eternal damnation and suffering the “terrors of hell” (such as being brought back to life time and again only to experience worms feasting on your rotting flesh) is to die a martyrs death.

Allah is real. And he wants us to be terrified of him. He is going about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. According to Islam itself, Allah is NOT the father of man, and is NOT seeking a father-son relationship with his creation. We are supposed to be his SLAVES, and forever SUBMIT to him in fear.

The real creator is jealous OVER us. The pretender is jealous OF us and loathes all of mankind. So if he can’t deceive us into worshipping him, he will have others put a sword to our necks to see what we decide under duress. These are truly days of great trouble.

I disagree that he had another choice in this matter. If he were to turn his daughter over to US or Iraqi authorities, then he would be putting himself and the rest of his family at risk. He would be seen by the terrorists as helping the US, and probably have his entire family killed. My guess is this was the only choice he felt he could make and keep everyone else safe. Sad indeed.

I tend to agree with @Tony, because doing what he did is still going to make him seem like he’s against the terrorists.

Not knowing all the circumstances, I think he should have turned her in.

I’m sorry for the loss of this father.

God help this man for the choice he made…it was not correct, but it was typically islamic…kill that which you dissagree with. The better choice would have been to turn her over to the authorities. But in islam, one less woman on this earth is no big deal!

Such is life for a female in that part of the world. Goats are of more value. Is it any wonder females choose to blow themselves up?

Wow, how many of us could make that decision – he must be living in his own private hell right now. I am not sure I could do that – in fact, I know I couldn’t. I would probably just call the police or something – I couldn’t kill my own!! http://maboulette.wordpress.com

What a difficult choice! The father couldn’t have possibly killed his daughter because she was pregnant or was having a relationship with someone he did not give his consent to or something a BIT more plausible? Sounds like an honor killing to me and a concocted story.

Killing one’s children can have religious implications.

TO STUDY THE ANCIENT CULT-RELIGION OF BAAL EXPLAINS the divergence of Islam from Judaism and the adoption of dominating, killing, lying cheating and other anti-civilization aspects. Throughout the entire ancient world, the bull which was the machine-tractor of the ancient world was depicted and revered but only worshipped by Hamites (Assyrian, Canaanites, Southern Egyptians) Baal is recorded as the God of War/Violence/Storms/Domination. These are the root aspects that were worshipped in Medina, and when Medina conquered Mecca (which worshipped the God of Israel, as all Shemites/Midianites would), they supplanted those things into the new religion – Islam.

As a father I can appreciate the choice but he had already lost most of his family from a bomb blast. What the hell is wrong with those people? What kind of social and mental retardation drives a choice like that by a woman when there is a chance to make lives better? I don‘t understand these people and I don’t like them either.

I agree it was a difficult decision, but could he not have turned her into police? Either way, he saved lives. May God have mercy on him.

I agree with you. That 1 man actually gave me a little hope that these people deserve to be helped over exterminated. I cant even imagine what he went through. we hear too many stories of muslim fathers killign their daughters because of stupid percieved infractions true or not. things that no truly honorable person or religion could condone in any way. this is the first truly honorable killing i have head of from that side.

Turn her in to police? They’ll kill her anyway AFTER they rape her. That may be what the father was thinking. Who knows what their thinking. We can’t try to use some moral equivalence with most of those ancient people.

      Wow. Just. Wow.

I agree exactly with your take and hate to admit, I likely would have to make the same decision, given the circumstances.

What else could he do? Go to authorities and have terrorists wipe his entire family out? That’s not an exhaggeration. They’re known to do that.

He‘s lucky it hadn’t already happened just for him killing her.
