As the news media works around the clock to figure out who exactly the so-called “mystery speaker” will be at the Republican National Convention, Townhall is reporting that Oscar award-winning actor and director Clint Eastwood is heading to Tampa for the GOP convention.
Townhall cites a “well-placed“ source within the GOP and speculates that Eastwood would be a good choice for the ”to-be-announced” speaker. However, there has been no confirmation that the legendary Hollywood figure is in fact the mystery speaker. But don’t expect that to stop everyone from speculating that it could be.
Townhall explains:
A well-placed Republican source tells Townhall that Oscar-winning director and actor Clint Eastwood will travel to Tampa, Florida to attend Mitt Romney’s nominating convention this week. As the news media scrambles to identify the so-called “mystery speaker” scheduled to address GOP delegates on Thursday evening, some have speculated that the iconic Hollywood figure could fit the bill. Our source — who spoke on the condition of anonymity — could not confirm if Eastwood is, in fact, the intriguing “to-be-announced” speaker, but stated unequivocally that the Dirty Harry star will arrive in Florida late on Wednesday or early on Thursday, and will return to southern California on Friday.
Earlier this month, TheBlaze reported that Eastwood endorsed Mitt Romney — he also supported Sen. John McCain’s presidential run in 2008 against President Obama. Further, the actor, a lifelong Republican, caused a stir with a Super Bowl ad that made some people think he was supporting Obama, a charge he denied almost immediately.
Whoever the RNC mystery is, he or she will address Republican delegates before Sen. Marco Rubio introduces Romney on Thursday night.

Posted on August 30, 2012 at 1:16amI appreciate any hollywood elite who is smart enough to realize what Obama and his cronies have done to our country. BUT, I am not and would not be impressed AT ALL if the ‘mystery guest’ were Clint Eastwood. A Sarah Palin, Tim Tebow, or another inspiring Conservative Republican would mean more to me, an AVID Conservative Republican, that anyone who is just now realizing the horrendous mistakes and failure Obama has put on all of us. Some of the comments and outright vulgar, mean, lying elites is more than I need… would not pay a dime to see any of their crappy movies much less listen to their spewing of what we stand for…

Posted on August 30, 2012 at 5:58amIf it was Clint, he would be doing it to help the less political, less aware members of society connect and since they are less aware of the threats to liberty that Obama brings than they are of hollywood productions, a Clint Eastwood presence would be a strong asset. He has a certain presence, attitude and serious character that I would also love to see present. He always comes across as if he means business and that is why so many of us, especially Romney and Romney are involved.

Posted on August 30, 2012 at 12:13amI love Glenn. But Eastwood is the man. How about a position in the Romney Administration maybe Seacretary of State… maybe that would get the message to the world… that we are not about to roll over and die! Romney / Ryan 2012!! Clint Eastwood too!

Posted on August 29, 2012 at 7:10pmI love Clint, but in the last few years he’s seem to have gone the way of the liberal loon. He supported Barry and defended him. Oh Clint, did that crazy former “reporter” wife of yours screw up your logic and get you to support this nightmare in the WH or did the Hollywood bubble effect your terrible decision to support this Prez? All will be forgiven “Philo Beddo”, if you admit your wrongs and make a speech for traditional America at the RNC. And if you care anything at all for decent Americans, please get your wife off reality tv. The show is so unecessary and pretty ghetto. I always thought you could do better Clint! Love ya!

Posted on August 29, 2012 at 7:37pmYou have to go back and look at his movies. He has been an ardent supporter of African-Americans, but while being pretty much a conservative. This one did more than let him down. Check out the Eiger Sanction, and Bird. My favorites have been Kelly’s Heroes and Space Cowboys, along with all of the Dirty Harry movies.

Posted on August 29, 2012 at 7:58pmHi RJJ,
Not many people know about The Eiger Sanction. I read the book first and then read The Loo Sanction novel.(http://www.amazon.com/The-Loo-Sanction-A-Novel/dp/1400098289)
Really liked the Eiger Sanction movie… I used to do a lot of rock climbing.
How else does a Monk get to the top of a mountain? LOL

Posted on August 29, 2012 at 8:29pmHi MONK, LOL, by climbing rocks, how else? Good to hear that. Not having been a genuine rock climber in my past, but have done much of the same regardless back before the day. Check out our Noccalula Falls sometimes. Well, not the falls so much but the surrounding areas. Wild area back in the early ’70s to me, but the government has grown over it so much these days.

Report Post »I do love Clint. I‘ve seen almost everything he’s been in. I saw Eiger Sanction years ago and should watch it again. I grew up in the 1980‘s so I’m guilty of loving Clint in the “Every Which Way but Loose” movies with Clyde the punching orangutan. But, I especially love “Hang em’ HIgh“ and ”Heartbreak Ridge”. “Kelly’s Heroes” is so great too!! And of course I can’t get enough “High Plains Drifter” and “Pale Rider” when AMC airs Clint marathons on Western Saturdays. Loved him with Rene Russo “In The Line of Duty”. Good to know there are some true Clint fans out there!

Posted on August 30, 2012 at 7:44pmThe Left would implode into an oblivion if he used that joke! Gran Torino was so under rated. There was zero political correctness and his characters reminded me of the men I grew up around. They didn’t give a *hit. There was no filter. Fewer and fewer are left. I loved Clint in this film. Made me think of the old days!

Posted on August 29, 2012 at 7:03pmThis would be aweome! I had posted Stephen Baldwin being a patriot earlier today, and at the time, I thought of 2 others, Jon Voight and Clint Eastwood. The no-nonsense Dirty Harry persona would be a great add to the convention. Or, the steely eyes of the no-name gunslinger who doesn’t say much, but is quite able to get his point across without mincing words.

Posted on August 30, 2012 at 8:45amI think Clint Eastwood is awesome.
However, after reading a few Rich Dad Poor Dad books, I would like Robert Kiyosaki step onto that stage.
Kiyosaki is a Vietnam veteran chopper pilot.
His poor dad rose through the ranks to head up Hawaii’s public school system, a highly paid, high headache situation. His dad eventually decided on a quixotic Lt Governor run on the belief that full governmental control would finally allow him the leverage to fire the bad guys, change the culture there, and properly educate the youth. His poor dad’s educational career ended with that election loss, his pay was never as high again.
Kiyosaki has built and lost a few times, and is respected well enough to not worry about suffering the consequences of his poor dad from so long ago.
