Is Glenn Beck Secretly Peddling Socialism?

Don’t look now, but Glenn Beck is popping up on a poster for an upcoming socialist event in Greensboro, NC. But before you start wondering if Beck is secretly peddling socialism, take a look at the full ad:
“Fight the Right! Party with the Left!” the poster, which is for a socialist fundraiser, says. “Join us for a night of radical politics that is sure to make Glenn Beck cry!”
The organization behind the poster is the Greensboro chapter of the International Socialist Organization (ISO). The reader who sent it to The Blaze did so because he happened to see it on the campus of his college, the University of North Carolina-Greensboro campus. And sure enough, a quick view of the ISO website shows the group does meet on the UNC-Greensboro grounds:
But that might not be surprising, considering the website shows that 24 of the group’s branches meet on college campuses across the country. And that number only includes the branches that expressly list a campus meeting location. There are several, like the New York University branch, that have branch names specifically listing a college or university but no official meeting location.
Just to be clear, this is what the ISO stands for:
The International Socialist Organization (ISO) is committed to building an organization that participates in the struggles for justice and liberation today–and, ultimately, for a future socialist society. [...]
The misery that millions of people around the world face is rooted in the society we live in–capitalism, where the few who rule profit from the labor of the vast majority of the population.
That should make more than Glenn Beck cry.

Posted on February 4, 2011 at 8:31amThis only proves that Socialism is a parasitic economic system that requires a Capitalist Host to feed off of. Once it sucks the life out of the host it collapse into anarchy.
Marx was only half right when he said that “capitalism evolves into communism.” What he missed was that once people realize what a disaster Communism is it reverts back to Capitalism See China.
Report Post »GhostOfJefferson
Posted on February 4, 2011 at 8:59amI’ve always wondered how people could possibly take Marx seriously. Disregard his vile, evil outlook on life and people and look simply at his economic theories. They collapse both at the macro and micro level almost immediately. He starts with unfounded assumptions, makes no pretense about even having the vaguest clue about basic economics, throws in a boatload of bile and bitterness, points out one or two actual flaws in the system at the time to make it look realistic, then publishes his screed from the cozy comfort of an English drawing room.
He received poor grades in college, and was a mediocre alcoholic in his formative years. The man, if you can call him that, was never able to obtain for himself more than a subsistence level of income when he was forced to work to feed himself and his family. His comrade in arms, Engels, often cited as a “capitalist” was in fact, not, he was instead what we call today a Trust Fund Baby, and lived on the coat tails of his family through inheritance, which he passed along to Marx. These vermin simply had no idea what it was like to be successful and when they did come into money, it was always in the form of inheritance and not from actual labor on their own behalf. He found his niche in agitation through Hegelianism and from there on out, we all know the story.
In short, the man was a living, breathing failure at life and was bitterly angry because of it. He thus bestowed on the world what we now call the leftist attitude – the argument from the sneer, the assumption of superiority despite being a mediocracy, the railing and screaming like a petulant child at things one doesn’t understand, and the innate assumption of entitlement born from having others support you for most of your life.
How people took, and continue to take, this fraud seriously is beyond me.

Government does not imbue a person with a selfless gene, nor does it instill a spirit of selflessness and service. Government is comprised of the same human beings that make up every other facet of life, with their petty foibles, jealousies, power urges and petty politics. What makes government dangerous is that you cannot simply say “no” to them, and their reach is infinite. At least with corporate pin heads you can not buy their product, or find another job, without having to flee and expatriate.

This is what the “Speech Giver” and the LEFT talk about all the time. Global Economy,Global Warming,Global Law, and Social Justice. Someone did a story yesterday about Bill “I do not know the definition of sex” Clinton the Freaking GLOBAL PRESIDENT !!!
For those who want to know who the Muslim Brotherhood is go its English web site. Look at the Communist advertisement .
http://www.ikhwanweb.com/article.php?id=804
We Must Be Followers
Since the Muslim Brotherhood believe in this understanding, they demand that the people work so that the foundations of modern Eastern resurgence are built on the basic principles of Islam, in every aspect of life. And they believe that every feature of modern renaissance which is contrary to the principles of Islam and conflicts with the laws of the Qur’an only serves corruption and worthless experimenting, which after making enormous sacrifices the nation will not have benefited from. It is more advantageous for the nation which seeks revival to take the shortest route by adhering to the precepts of Islam.
The Muslim Brotherhood are not addressing their appeal to any one particular Islamic country. They are sending out their call, hoping that it will reach the ears of the leaders and chiefs of state in every country whose people follow the Islamic way of life. To that end, they are taking this opportunity which all Islamic countries are bound by, as they seek to build their future on solid foundations embodying the basic element of progress, advancement, and civilisation.
Reform the Law
Every nation has a set of laws in which the people partake their ruling. These sets of laws must be derived from the proscriptions of the Islamic Sharee’ah (drawn from the Noble Qur’an, and in accordance with the basic sources of Islamic jurisprudence). The Islamic Sharee’ah and the decisions of the Islamic jurists are completely sufficient, supply every need, and cover every contingency, and they produce the most excellent results and the most blessed fruits. If the punishments prescribed by Allah were carried out, they would be a deterrent dismaying even the most hardened of criminals, restraining even the habitual thug, and relieving governments of the annoyances of worthless experiments. Experience confirms and supports that, basic assumptions of modern legislation proclaim and sustain it, and Allah (SWT) has commanded and prescribed it:

I understand you were posting tongue in cheek. Take my comments in response in the context that I understand you were being sarcastic.
“Sending your children to college is the worst thing you can do.”
Sometimes, it is. Sometimes it isn’t. Not due to politics, but due to necessity. There are plenty of people who are not A List aggressive go getters, who simply wish to work a mundane job and spend more time at home or in leisure or with their family. If they want a life working in a factory, or changing oil, or working as a janitor, well, there is no shame in that and frankly no need to attend college. The money and time would be wasted, the person would retain little if anything after a few years out, and nobody would profit except perhaps the university.
I’m also vastly disappointed that to get just about any job these days, even mundane run of the mill low requirement type jobs, a college degree is increasingly becoming required. I have two degrees, but I don’t really think I should have to produce evidence of that if I wish to start working as a doorman in a hotel, ya’ know?
All that said, I do agree that a college education is a valuable tool to somebody with specific aims and goals in his life, and a virtual requirement for many professions out of necessity (who wants a doctor who has never stepped foot in a medical school?). Basic education from primary schools should cover the necessities of being an informed citizen such that attending college shouldn’t be needed if that is the only goal of attending one.
“In college all the professors are avowed Communists or Muslims. There are also Marxists and Socialists teachers. ”
While clearly in jest, and clearly false, it‘s not so far from true that one couldn’t take a large sampling and find some data showing a very strong left/far left bias amongst a majority of tenured professors and faculty (in fact, I seem to vaguely recall a non-partisan survey that confirmed just that, but since I don‘t have it at my finger tips I can’t admit it as evidence in this discussion). It might only be a 51% majority, of course. It’s hard not to notice the bias in classes not based on hard science, especially when dealing with professors (and TA’s) in the liberal arts, social sciences, political sciences and economics.
“The entire goal of colleges that Obama is President is to turn our leftist zombies who will obey commands under the New World Order. Except now it’s a caliphate but basically the same thing.”
The goal of most schooling, outside of the primary goal of basic factual education, is to instill a set of mores, norms and values in its students. With a left/far left leaning tendency in American universities, well, their intent may not be what you outlined in joke, but the outcomes I’ve encountered in real life suggest that more kids are leaving college less able to reason than before they entered. Not evidence of course, but it’s hard not to notice.
“Save your money and buy that big flat screen TV”
Nothing wrong with that. If I may ask a neutral question? I’ve noticed that in a large majority of cases, most people I deal with on the left seem to absolutely seethe over the existence of big screen televisions in particular. Why is that?
It’s just technology, and there are no shortage of people on the left who love television, if not the same programs as those on the right (though I do believe that sports are reveled in by both sides without political context). I find watching National Geographic nature specials to be wonderfully fulfilling on a large screen hi definition television. What’s wrong with that?
“to watch FOX on, ”
Sure, why not? I hear a lot about how FOX is “teh eeebil” from the left, but when I watch it I do notice that they are every bit as accurate on factual reporting as the Left Approved Viewing, and make no more mistakes than Left Approved Viewing, and by and large are far more balanced in presenting both sides, right and left and sometimes even libertarian, to stories where opinion is given. What’s the problem then? That they may get something wrong now and then? Sure, and so do the other stations. Or is it that giving the right any kind of fair hearing is just anathema to you folks?
“and spare your children the fate of becoming willing slaves to social justice”
I’m doing that through guiding my children in their moral development, thanks. :)
“This country will be better off the fewer educated people we have,”
Heh. Let me rephrase that tongue in cheek comment for you. This country will be better off the fewer *over educated* people we have. Book smarts do not necessarily translate into real world value, and so many people who are over educated cannot function well when dealing with real world situations from what I’ve seen.

BECKISNUTS
I think it’s easy to misunderstand him. He’s clearly not a Beck fan, but if you look at posts where he’s not talking about Beck, he generally espouses a conservative viewpoint. Where the angst comes in for a lot is that I believe that most think “Doesn’t like Beck, ergo, Left winger”.
PUBLIUSPENCILMAN
Publius can post interesting and relevant points of view, even if I disagree with his premise and viewpoint on most things. He and others bonk heads from time to time, but I think he’s an honest broker.
ABC
Clearly an intelligent man, and when he’s not being condescending or launching ad hominem can be quite reasonable and rational. Again, even if I disagree with him on many issues. The problem is the constant ad hominem I’m afraid. When we‘ve had civil discussions I’ve found him to be quite an interesting person however.

Did you forget perhaps MiddleClassProphet and JVS? They’re in the same category as Publius, though JVS can be a bit more condescending at times, but I‘m not entirely certain if that’s just a perception I get from what may be simply a sharp wit. MCP, once you address him reasonably, answers in kind and seems honorable despite political disagreement.
Just thought I’d offer my own viewpoints on this. Some are obvious trolls, but the ones that are not can add spice to a debate and help me to sharpen my rhetoric and logic and are appreciated.

“He can’t copyright his image, he’s in the public domain. Nice try.”
I suspect that ultimately you’re correct on this. He puts himself in the public eye intentionally, and thus is open to the same kind of thing as anybody else who does such. Politicians on the right used images of Nancy Pelosi to inspire fund raising against her, and this pretty much falls into the same kind of category.

Posted on February 4, 2011 at 4:42pmI love the conservative thought on site, they are mostly in agreement with my own…that being said, I would like to bring a bit of reality into this discussion.
Report Post »There is no political solution to our common problems with the state of the union and our leaders and policy. It has come way farther than that!! What we talk about and conjecture about and philosphize about, should have been in place thirty or 40 years….we would not have these problems, now.
The 60′s ruined a lot of perfectly good brains, to say nothing about a lot of perfectly good women. Our parents did not have the guts or the wisdom to stand up to us . By the time we figured out that free love was NOT free, and bills need to be paid, too many of our compadres were past the tipping point,
The music romaniticized the era and made our kids want to get high, too.
I never met Bill Ayers, but I knew some politically aware freaks while I was on the coast(bay area) in the early 70′s. The rhetoric has been refined, but the sentiment is the same: outrage at injustice.
I know, now, that there is no true justice in this world, for this world is the domain of the evil one, and his influence is supernatural. Just as the intellect and virtue of the “hippies” was ravaged, so, also has our nation’s morality been destroyed.
All of this happened, and is happening, to prove the left’s main point……mankind does not need GOD! That we have outgrown the need for morality and decency.
We were blessed by liberty and lived in God’s grace for many generations, but greed, sloth, and lust have brought us down. We have leaders with children’s minds and a culture any pagan could embrace. WE did not have the guts or wisdom to stand up for rightousmess. There is a rather harsh correction coming, and for my part, I welcome it. Should I die, I will do it with a prayer on my lips, and the grace of God in my heart.

What I found was that almost ALL (and EVERYONE on that list) “lib trolls” had the same two things in common. ALL on that list use/have used a pic reference by their screen name, and ALL on that list (and some don’t do this every time) have the “report post” link turned off.

Notice that the commitment is to the institutionalization and subjectivity of socialism, not to the individual, freedom or liberty. But to a government structure. That is virtually voluntary enslavement. This is a respite for the mindless and the lazy. The a-moral and the stupid.
