Is Libya Exaggerating NATO Attack on Gadhafi & Family?

The Daily Beast:

The strike that killed the dictator’s youngest son came nowhere close to killing Gaddafi, says Fadel Lamen’s Libyan sources , who also cast doubt on whether grandchildren were killed. Plus, Clive Irving on what the killing reveals about NATO’s on-the-ground intelligence—and its view of ending the war in Libya.

Forgive me for being cynical, but I’ve seen this act before. Yes, the NATO strike on the Gaddafi family—both the death of Saif al-Arab Gaddafi (not to be confused with Saif al-Islam, as the Libyan spokesman himself initially was) and the reported near-hit on the dictator himself—is important for the message sent and the chaos sown.

But the details on the Gaddafi hit don’t add up, and they make me—and a half dozen sources I talked with last night, including several in Libya—skeptical about how close we came to hitting the dictator. Or that three grandchildren were actually killed, as Gaddafi’s embattled government claims.

Keep reading here.

We need to get our armed forces out of Libya. Any NATO war will be a disaster for America and our real Western Civilization allies.

To use Cass Sunstein‘s wife’s Responsibility to Protect doctrine to go into Libya is so assinine as to be contemptible. And without ANY consultation with Congress at all! None whatsoever! And then to hand it over to NATO when our troops are in danger?! And have our troops fight alongside the al Qaeda thugs! Unbelievable!

Obama is showing his complete dictatorial ways and he should be impeached immediately.

There was no direct threat to America from Libya. And as much as I abhor the actions of Libya’s Gaddafi and ALL the other equally as brutal dictators in the Middle East we had no business interfering in Libya. This war is a suicidal war. And, in fact, our intervention has probably prolonged it and killed more people in the end!

This just shows the utter incompetency of Barack Hussein Obama.

As far as the report that Gaddafi’s son and grandchildren were killed. If this isn’t accurate then you have no business reporting it to begin with. It should be confirmed before being reported on. I don‘t believe a word these master’s of deceit and deception say.

America is becoming sick of these wars in the Middle East where our troops are dying for what? They just revert back to their Islamic Sharia-driven governments and have no respect for human life at all.

Look at what’s happening in Egypt. An even more brutal and dictatorial government is taking over by the brutal Muslim Brotherhood whose leader, Yusuf al Qaradawi, would do anything to kill a Jew from his wheelchair, and now they’re planning to attack Israel. The day that Mubarak left and they were celebrating in the Tahrir Square 200 thugs were raping an American journalist and yelling Jew Jew! They continue with their brutal Sharia, stoning women and treating them like children and killing indiscriminately, and then they blame us for their utter chaos, and nothing changes there under the totalitarian and brutal rule of this theo-political ideology that they call Islam.

When are we going to wake up? As long as we‘re fighting their battles for them they’re never going to change their ways. They always have us to blame for their utter mayhem and complete societal depravation and collapse.

Bring all our troops home and let them self-implode. Bring them home now!

I heard this report on Sunday and immediately sensed something bogus. Notice that “children” only were allegedly killed. At first, the news was repeated that Gadhafi’s “youngest” son was killed but not until later was his adult age mentioned. Also, there was no wailing and gnashing of teeth, of course, there will be much later.

As for the “war criminal” thing, he’s already explained that we’re simply protecting innocent civilians. That’s good enough for the left. Personally, I’m more concerned with the innocent civilians on our southern border but, maybe I’m just being selfish (sarcasm intended).

Of course not, NATO is illegally trying to assassinate Qaddafi, the same way they worked to illegally assassinate Saddam.

Nobody is buying the narrative. They went in, tried to blow Saddam up like Qaddafi, captured Saddam, then turned him over to be executed by AL QAEDA.

Nothing is changing here, except they have to keep the impropriety of working with Al Qaeda even more obfuscated and try harder to blow up Qaddafi with a bomb instead of sending in ground troops like they did with Saddam, because we aren’t supposed to be over there in the first place, like we werne’t supposed to be in IRaq in the first place.

The “responsibility to protect garbage” NOBODY EVER BELIEVED.

We borrow our money from central banks that eat us up from the inside and they create their money to benefit the people of Libya. We have no gold and they have 112 tons of it. Did you guys see that picture of Obama on Drudge? He is yucking it up all the while killing innocent women and kids in Libya. What a moron. Libya is none of our damn business.

Of course, anything is possible or an excuse to promote more violence. I would be most happy if three grandchildren weren’t killed and that the parent was smart enough to keep them well away from their grandfather, the target. I’m not sure evil for evil is a good exchange.

      @NancyBee,

“I agree….and..we need to be focusing on Mexico…..and protecting our borders NOW!”

Until we get Eric Holder, Janet Napolitano, and Obama out of office, that’s not going to happen. These three are using our open southern border to conspire against the American people to take away our guns. And they are deliberately providing the means for mass murders to create the crisis to do so.

      See here.

He’s probably right! The whole story is likely overblown. However, all the points he makes in his column regarding the story can be applied to the stories of Qaddafi troops killing civilians. When are all the videos of the dead civilians. We accept the stories from the rebels without question. We get in to a war -third one- on the advice of people we don’t know. We help our so-called European allies secure their oil supply while BO destroy ours. What the hell is wrong with us?

The son and 3 grand “children” were uniform-wearing military men who were killed as they stood watch in a command post. The son was in his 40′s, his loyal children were adults serving in the Libyan army.

NANCYBEE, glad you have your electric back on and hope you didn’t have too much damage where you are. Wish we could redirect some of your rain to FL/TX, but alas…stay safe.

Graham said Gaddafi was not the leader of Libya. How many countries does it take to vote out another country’s leader?? Could a couple of third world nations vote out the Obummer?? How many people would have to protest in front of the White House for Obummer to step down?? Would another country be able to target bomb the White House??? We are definitely heading in the wrong direction. ;=)

The war in Libya is unConstitutional. Congress did not approve.

Congress didn’t approve of the war in Iraq or Afghanistan either in the sense of a formal declaration of war (neighter Vietnam or Korea either). In any case, state your position. Should we leave Iraq and Afghanistan?

Doctor, are the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan “Constitutional?” Must we get out of those conflicts too. Get off the fence, manup and give us your opinion. Do you just hate Obama, or are you a bleeding hear liberal pacifist?

      jzs,

You say “Get off the fence”, “man up and give us your opinion”, and “are you a bleeding heart liberal pacifist”.

I don’t remember saying anything that ever justified these accusations. So, show me the quotes that suggest to you that these apply to me regarding these wars.

Either that, or admit to the forum that your accusations are contrived to elicit a reactionary response.

After that, I will respond to your post.

The reason I’m asking you to do this is because the Left is quite fond of poisoning the well, and I like to expose when it’s being done.
