Is That Ron Paul? You Won‘t Believe the Rousing Speech Harry Reid Gave in ’95 About Auditing the Fed

Yesterday, the House voted 327-8 to pass Ron Paul’s “Audit the Fed” bill. But the legislation is dead on arrival in the Senate, thanks to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid who has vowed not to allow the Senate to vote on it. But it wasn’t always this way with Reid.
What do I mean? Well, video has surfaced showing Harry Reid ardently defending the idea of auditing the Fed back in the 90s. In fact, he believed in it so much he even championed the legislation, according to watchdog govtrack.us.
In the video of the 1995 speech, Business Insider writes, Reid sounds a lot like Paul:
“I have sponsored legislation every year that would call for an audit of the Federal Reserve system. I offer that amendment every year, every year it gets nowhere,” Reid says. “I think it would be interesting to know about the Federal Reserve. I think we should audit the Federal Reserve — it‘s taxpayer’s money that’s being used there. But we don’t do that.”
“People just don’t care about the Federal Reserve. Maybe it‘s because it’s a subject that’s not very interesting — it’s not pornography, it’s not murder, it’s not an issue that deals with the Wild West.”

Posted on July 26, 2012 at 12:14pmWhat could be a more perfect example? “When a politicians lips are moving he is lying.” this goes for both sides. I have no faith in any politician’s other than the tea party candidates that are newly elected…. the problem is after one term they may even be tainted by the goodies and freebies.

Posted on July 26, 2012 at 3:31pmLetUsReason: What’s amazing to me is how few people understand that being a Jew is an ethnicity and that some of them a great minority actually practice religion and even a smaller minority of that minority actually practice OT Torah or true Judaism.
I probably didn‘t understand it either myself until I begin studying the subject but it’s a collossal oversight especially in JudeaChristian American circles today.

Nice try Ron on getting the votes , but with Obama in office they will block all attempt that will make the feds accountable . If Romney is the lesser of 2 evils then I will vote for Romney, we must stop Obama from getting another 4 years, what will our country look like then? Like Baja California maybe, with over 20 trillion in debt, no available health care due to lack of qualified Doctors and rising taxes so you take home less. Actually, we have been seeing lots of pro-Ron Paul articles now that he is effectively out of the republican primary. The same thing happened in 2008 when Glenn Beck longed for Ron Paul after we were stuck with McCain v Obama.
This article should be proof to everyone that constitutional ideas and pro-freedom messages are the ULTIMATE TRUMP against socialism. The left cannot beat it when it is properly communicated. Sending Romney out to appeal to the moderates and independents with boring messages about how bad Obama is and how Romney’s magic touch will solve all the problems is the WRONG WAY.
If they want to disarm the ideas and fallacies of socialism – spread the liberty message

———–
“but if your currency continues as exclusively paper as it now is, it will foster this eager desire to amass wealth without labor; it will multiply the number of dependents on bank accommodations and bank favors; the temptation to obtain money at any sacrifice will become stronger and stronger, and inevitably lead to corruption, which will find its way into your public councils and destroy at no distant day the purity of your Government.”

=========================
Strangely enough, that’s exactly what Abraham Lincoln said in August of 1863:
——————–
Report Post »“You dislike the emancipation proclamation; and, perhaps, would have it retracted. You say it is unconstitutional–I think differently. I think the constitution invests its Commander-in-chief, with the law of war, in time of war. The most that can be said, if so much, is, that slaves are property. Is there–has there ever been–any question that by the law of war, property, both of enemies and friends, may be taken when needed? And is it not needed whenever taking it, helps us, or hurts the enemy? Armies, the world over, destroy enemie’s property when they can not use it; and even destroy their own to keep it from the enemy. ”

Posted on July 26, 2012 at 10:28amIt’s official (at least in ‘95 it was): Ron Paul had EXACTLY, 100% the same policy position. For example, audit the Fed, gut the US Military, gut US Intelligence Agencies, pro gay marriage, pro abortion, pro open borders, supports Irans “right” to have nukes, shall I go on, Paul Bots?

audit the Fed – Yep, Aren’t we supposed to know where are tax dollars go?
gut the US Military – Not gutting but putting the military back where it needs to be. In defense of our nation and not nation building in the ME or elsewhere. How do we afford the nation building/foreign aid much longer?
gut US Intelligence Agencies – Yep, How much more do we need? How many more rights do we give up to the likes of the NSA? They are using their powers to spy on us and keep track of our doings. Constitutional?
pro gay marriage – wrong, Pro marriage with no government involved. Why is the government even involved in marriage? Can you point to the part in the Constitution that states the government is over marriage? I‘m not married and don’t plan to be. Why don’t I get any benefit for being single?
pro abortion – wrong again. The man is a doctor and Christian. Definitely not pro abortion. He does believe that is a state right to decide. The Constitution did not give that to the federal government.
pro open borders – Really? He thinks we need to have real reform without fences. Fences are not only used to keep people out.
supports Irans “right” to have nukes – He doesn’t want anybody to have nukes but he realizes that Iran is a soveriegn nation that does need to defend itself. The same as Israel defending itself.
If we had a foreign nation (hostile) on our borders; wouldn’t you want a detterent?
shall I go on – please don’t until you read the C
