Is the United Nations gunning for Americans’ second Amendment rights?
In an op-ed for Forbes, University of Houston professor Larry Bell rails against the U.N.’s “Small Arms Treaty.” Bell claims that the international body is passing the measure off as an effort intended to combat terrorists and insurgents. He says the measure has a very different purpose:
Under the guise of a proposed global “Small Arms Treaty”…you can be quite certain that an even more insidious threat is being targeted – our Constitutional right for law-abiding citizens to own and bear arms.
Bell claims that this international treaty, from the Obama administration’s perspective, is an opportunity to increase domestic gun control. If implemented, he believes it will enforce rougher licensing requirements, more red tape, create an “international gun registry,“ ”confiscate and destroy all ‘unauthorized’ civilian firearms’” and severely impede Americans’ right to bear arms.
Bell explains that this plan is very real and that the U.S. has already joined 152 other countries in to endorse a U.N. Arms Treaty Resolution that will lead to a 2012 conference. It is during this meeting that plans to enact these international new controls will take place. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has said she will encourage the Senate to ratify he resolution as well. You can read more about Bell’s thoughts on this important subject here.

Remember what killed and still kills so many troops in Iraq and Afghanistan? With the level of tech available here, and the amount of industrial/agricultural chemicals all across the country (never mind anything that’s seized from the hostile forces, or contributed by the military that joins us) they wouldn’t even be safe if every single thug drove their own personal M1 Abrams!
There’s a reason why NappyPolitician started training State PDs on IEDs, and it ain’t cuz she thinks muslim jihadists will be planting them!
Probably even more critical than guns will be materials to make things that go “BOOM!”.
The other thing to make are “cable guns” that simply fling a length of steel cable with weights on the ends. It could even be some sort of spring-loaded launcher. Hostile helicopter in low-altitude strafing/anti-infantry/search mode operating near you? Several feet of steel cable in the main or tail rotor will just ruin their day.
Keeping helos out of the fight on the government’s side as much as possible will be critical to keeping our body counts down, if the government is actually crazy enough to attempt to disarm/round-up citizens en-masse.
Good old barrage balloons are another low-tech way to protect an area against low-altitude aircraft that can be “home-made” in large numbers.

I visited Ilinois recently, went to Wally World to buy some ammo. Clerk asked me for my gun ownership license!! Since I’m not a citizen of Nazinois, they let me puchase the ammo. WOW! I thank God every day I don’t live in that hole. The rest of the country thinks we’re hillbillies, but if that’s what they have to go through, let ‘em. From what I understand, one of the main fixes for your troubles would be to repeal the 17th Amendment. Your States really do not have any say in your Elected Senate, they are not answerable to any State Legislation. Your Senators are only answerable to those whom contribute to their campaigns [out of staters]. If your senators were appointed by the states then they would be representing the states. That alone would have stopped many of your abuses by govt. How many would have voted for Obamacare? Its old but they are pushing it. I posted this article up on my facebook page and first thing I thought was this is old. But is just a continuation of the story and BHO will push for it. He said it cpl weeks ago they were working under the radar.
Im going to say it b/c I know others wont. This issue is the true crossing the line issue with America. “You” want to see this country come apart, then go for it. There are things you can do to us like bodyscanners, cameras everywhere, telling us we can say ‘crosshairs’ and ‘target’ in political strategy etc etc. BUT you go after our last line of defense the 2nd amend and our right to defends ourselves to all those intrusions you will have a serious fight on your hands. Well as far as I’m concerned, you cannot look bad when speaking out against those who aim to take away your rights. They want us to feel that way. They want to make us feel guilty for our rational thought. If we don’t stand up, and quit wasting energy making sure we tailor our words as to not make us “look bad,” they’ll have sat back and watched us defeat ourselves.

Then you “supposedly” misinterpret the perpetual primacy of the Constitution over a simple treaty. I do not believe that any treaty has been overturned by the SC, but that does not mean that treaties override our Constitution.
You might want to do a bit of research on this before you expound legally. There are some folks who actually believe that if something is written down in these blogs, then it must be true. A person’s supposition can be no more than hogwash, so it would behoove all of us to keep a “weather eye” out for such blather when it is offered. The least any of us can do is challenge such statements when they are offered.

The U.N. has total say over the USA. That was first agreement in joining the U.N. The new world order George Bush I announced allows the U.N. to train and operate US bases in times of unrest in America as well as gives the U.N. jurisdiction. We have signed many treaties under the UN trumping US law.
I do not like this resolution by the UN at all. If your not crazy and have not violently broke the law you should own a gun or have opportunity to do so. Unfortunately both Republican and Democrat signed us over to the UN way in the past while you all were sleeping and getting fat.
It’s interesting to see how the Senate plays this. Lots of arm twisting and word games will be played. Hard to see it pass but they’ll try. Be over my dead body before I lose mine.

They do not have a shoot out at folks front doors. The powers to be set the conditions first, then the people give up the guns. Here in America, all you have to do in the subdivision is shut off the power and the water. With no where to eat, no where to poop, and the welfare receivers running around stealing, killing, rapping…. (like when Katrina happened). People will willingly give up the guns to get some food, and their lights and power back on. Instead of having a gun pulled from your cold dead hands at the front door of your house, why not have one (along with ammo) stashed in a waterproof case somewhere away from your house, where only you know how to get it?

(2) I live in NJ and they would probably follow the NJ model. Firearms ID card, CCW issued only for “justifiable need” determined by the courts, bans on mag limits, ammo purchases logged and taxed to death. Regulations, limits, red tape to the point where where applications take months on end. BTW, in NJ they can confiscate your firearms for if found “un fit” to own. I guess who gets to claim if your “un fit”? Yes, corrupt judges!! Result: Complaining/arguing while our rights are stripped.

This order created the framework for the federal government to begin implementing sustainable development programs nationwide. All of this has been moving forward with virtually no legislative debate.

These councils are manipulated in such a way as to come to a pre-determined outcome. The professional facilitators of the meeting work hard to make sure all those involved are easily swayed into being agreeable. The process utilizes group manipulation tactics. Most people fear the thought of looking foolish in front of others and tend to keep quiet. If one is vocal, and unwilling to go along, a wily facilitator will pick up on this and use mockery to shut the person up.
Does this sort of tactic sound familiar? Have any of you had this happen to you when you go to your town council meetings to complain? Lock arms patriots! Pull yourself up by the bootstraps. Ownership by citizens who have no criminal record or history of mental illness or violent behavior should of course be legal. We can’t ignore that 90% plus of the guns used by Mexican drug cartels are purchased at gun shoppes on the US side of the border, with the full knowledge of the gun industry. There is a border city in Texas that has something like 40 gun shoppes for a population of 12,000 people. From that perspective I would say it is the capitalistic driven marketing and illegal sales activities of the gun industry that really threaten the Second Amendment.

Ahem. You are aware, that factions within our federal government actually supported and “pushed” illegal sales of weapons from these shops into Mexico, are you not? As to why that would be done remains to be seen as there are congressional investigations ongoing. I shall leave it to the readers to make their own decisions, but I will offer that the Secretary of State was “very concerned” about this matter before the federal involvement in the crime was disclosed.
Government may actually be the problem in this case, rather than the solution as I believe you are supporting.

The UN is trying to usurp the sovereignty of the US just like the US usurped the sovereignty of the states. Mind your history or we will be doomed to repeat it.

What America needs to do is make the UN go away and with it all the states that sponsor terrorism. If we take away our money then they will spend all their time trying to survive in their own desolate, pathetic state. Can you say history is repeating itself! Does Germany come to mind? Take away your guns take away your freedom is in this what this administration it’s all about and Hillary Clinton is pushing this in the UN. Well here’s what I say it is time to arm yourself keep guns in your house if they come knocking at the door for your guns then it may be time to react, because your freedom will be gone you will have no say in your rights to own a car to buy food the government will control all of us. If the UN’s involved is striving for a one world government. Pray to God that this doesn’t happen. I hope I never have to use a gun for my freedom but I will not give up my freedom.

It’ll like the those computer programs that can beat humans in chess because it can generate insults and paranoia much faster, and doesn’t need real intelligence or human logic.

And, if you would have read my post carefully, you would have noticed that the insult was not of my making, but that I was just agreeing with another poster.
But yes, I do reply to your posts as often as possible. Sometimes to counter your stated premise, and sometimes just to be a PITA.

There is a threat, in that our politicians and media believe that foreign treaties supersede the constitution (which they want trashed). They do not. “Amendment by Treaty” is not an option. Which of course does not appear to be the case. Illegal distribution of guns is the primary mission of the CIA isn’t. Heck that started a day after WWII ended. Perry would exercise Texas’ option to secede from the Union which would be followed by other South Western states resulting in a second American Civil War. Ventura is right about the military being unable to defeat an armed population. Think about the L.A. riots. A bunch of street thugs were able to overwhelm the entire LAPD. Think about what you could do with an entire population organizing an armed rebellion.
