Is This OK? Dad Uses Photoshop to Trick Daughter Into Believing ‘Ewoks’ Are Real

Who wouldn’t want Ewoks, those cute, cuddly yet slightly mischievous Star Wars creations, to be real? Anthony Herrera planted this exact seed in his daughter’s mind telling her on a hike in the Sequoia National Park that they were real.
Naturally, she was disappointed when she could catch a glimpse of the teddy-bear-like characters, so Herrera helped “prove” their existence by Photoshopping images of them into photos they had taken on their trip. Here’s what Herrera wrote on his blog:
A year ago we took a trip to Sequoia National Park. I wanted to excite my daughter while being in such amazing surroundings. Being the Star Wars geek that I am (so is she), I told her that this is where the Ewoks live. She spent a good chuck of our time hiking keeping a lookout for any Ewoks. Coming home I can‘t say that she wasn’t disappointed that we didn’t find any. I had to explain that they are extremely shy and hardly ever let anyone see them. After we got home, and after I had a little time alone with the photos, I told her I thought I saw something strange in a few pictures. We viewed them on the TV to get a larger image. You can imagine how surprised and excited she was when we discovered that we didn’t see any Ewoks, but they saw us, and had certainly taken an interest in her and her little brother. Maybe I’m a little wrong for lying to her and falsifying the pictures, but I don’t care. She’ll never forget the time she spent in the big woods with Ewoks.
Clearly Herrera wasn’t thinking of the devastation that comes when you find out Santa Claus, the tooth fairy, the Easter Bunny and the Great Pumpkin from Charlie Brown aren’t real. But Herrera, and other commenters of the Wired story, aren’t too worried. Here are a few of the comments praising Herrera:
Here’s an added treat for those of you basking in this Ewok glory — the Yub Nub celebration song at the end of Return of the Jedi:

Posted on September 24, 2011 at 8:11pmI don’t approve of trying to convince children that imaginary things are real. People do it all the time and Santa is actually a deception on a world wide scale with even the local news getting into the deception with the radar. Seems to be relatively harmless, may cause children to have a harder time believing in the real supernatural things. They may think you are making it up when you tell them about God and miracles etc.. Should make the athiests happy if so though.

No parent is 100% honest with their kids, most times for their own good, or simply because they are not old enough to actually understand the truth in a non- harmfull manner. Any parent that is 100% honest with their kids 100% of the time is probably doing some serious harm by not self editing.
Besides fantasies are fun. in 10-15 years the daughter and father will have a great memory of the prank. no harm and a story for the future.

Posted on September 24, 2011 at 8:20amIn order to be 100% honest to your kids you would have to treat them like adults. That is cruel in and of itself. If my child asks me a question, I first consider if he’s old enough to hear the truth. I may not lie, but I don’t tell the truth either. I have never actually told my son (at age 12) that we are Santa Claus, even though the presents go under the tree as they’re bought, or at least when the tree goes up. When he lost his last tooth, at something like 10, he asked if I was the tooth fairy. I asked him if he would like the tooth fairy to stop coming. it’s fun to have fantasies. I feel bad for people who can’t pretend. My belief in Santa and the Tooth Fairy got killed by my brother, but it didn’t scar me for life. Get over it.

Keep the faith and they will be with you forever in the afterlife. It’s just a small matter of time the Universe knows nothing of before you will be reunited with your friends. Remember what Glenn’s staff wrote on the chalkboard painted pillar of The Blaze office?
TRUTH FAITH INTEGRITY HONOR
THINK
do your HOMEWORK
KNOW
So they just ignore the biggest fraud in American history but instead someone using photoshop to create a phony impression about Ewoks is big news! This is journalism at it’s finest?
Glenn and his staff advocate principled political participation based on the Bible and Constitution. So how do they excuse their hypocritical failure to acknowledge Obama’s ineligibility?
If Glenn would just tell America the truth that Obama is not a natural born citizen, and he also has a fake BC and SS#, Obama would likely resign and/or be arrested! But every hero needs his villain. Guess that’s show biz!
Art. 2, Sec. 1, “No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible … .”
Exempting a citizen (the minimum requisite then was US birth to a US father) from being a natural born citizen, proves they are not equal. Only US birth to US citizen parents (plural) is greater, thus defining a natural born citizen.

Additionally, you also don’t seem to care about Glenn Back and his staff framing themselves as the ultimate harbinger of truth, while in fact they are purposefully perpetuating the usurpers time in office by a heinous lie of omission.
Obviously this Ewock photoshop story is ripe with irony given Obama’s photoshopped birth certificate http://www.wnd.com/eligibility even though this story was, one would suppose. meant to be a light hearted break, but a break from what… failing to report the biggest fraud in the history of America?

The flag you fly 24/7 symbolizes liberty as enshrined in the Constitution. Is not ignoring it worse than trampling the flag?
We must do more than just vote when the time comes. We must do more than sit and wait for the media addled majority to decide our fate and the fate of our nation. We have a Constitution! We must demand our Constitution be honored by our elected public servants.
By providence, our Founding Fathers succeeded in creating our nation by wresting themselves from the grasp of tyranny to forge freedom for themselves and future generations of Americans with our Constitution. However freedom isn’t free; it is now up to us to keep it.
Thomas Jefferson wisely warned, “Eternal vigilance is the price of freedom.”
Similar in nature to the wisdom of Jefferson, Dr. Benjamin Franklin also cautioned, “Those who will trade liberty for security deserve neither.”
Indeed, having finally completed their task of writing the Constitution, as the members emerged from the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia on September 18, 1787, Dr. Benjamin Franklin was asked by an anxiously awaiting Mrs. Powel, “Well Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?” whereupon he knowingly replied, “A republic, if you can keep it.”
It’s your Constitution, your nation, your freedom and your choice!

The Constitution is the priority. Obama’s Kenyan father precluded his being a natural born citizen,[1] defined by Supreme Court precedent as one born in US to US citizen parents i.e., Donofrio.
Precedent for citizen eligibility must not be set. Obama mustn’t trample the Constitution or the flag for 14 seconds, let alone 14 months! Strangely, the courts have so far blocked every attempt to enforce Article 2, Section 1, due to lack of standing.
However if Obama is charged and prosecuted for allegedly using a fraudulent SS# and posting a fake birth certificate[2] on the White House web site, every law, executive order, military order and appointment he inflicted upon America, is invalidated.
In addition, the usurper’s entire administration will be unraveled and removed, including his illegal Vice President Joe Biden, as well as the usurper’s two dissidents on the Supreme Court.
Following the rules of succession, the House Speaker will fulfill the remainder of the vacated presidential term.
If justice prevails, the progressive socialist democrats will be dismissed, defeated and discarded.
Those in the media, public office and the candidates must address Obama’s ineligibility and anomalies or be dismissed as untrustworthy!

I believe that children should be confident that what a parents says is true IS true, that a parent would never lie to them. There may be necessary exceptions when the truth would be too much for them, but this is hardly one of them.
