‘Islamic Police’: Islamists ‘Invade’ Mali & Ban Traditional Music, Alcohol, Unveiled Women & More

BAMAKO, Mali (The Blaze/AP) — In one town in northern Mali a man has been whipped for drinking alcohol. In another, pictures of unveiled women have been torn down. In a third, traditional music is no longer heard in the streets. It’s evident that the Islamist “invasion,” influence — and rule — is overtaking the West African nation.
While government soldiers were fighting each other this week for control of the capital in Mali’s southwest corner, Islamist fighters were asserting control over the Texas-sized northern half of the country. The Islamists, some of whom are foreigners, are imposing strict religious law, setting up a possible showdown with Tuareg nationalist rebels who say they want a secular state and who seized northern Mali in March alongside the Islamists.

In the fabled city of Timbuktu, whose winding alleyways lined with mud homes fill with sand blown in from the Sahara, pictures of unveiled women have either been torn down or covered over with black paint, according to El Hadj Baba Haidara, a member of the Malian parliament for the city. The Islamists have also cut the signal for national TV broadcasts to the city because they consider the women not properly covered and don’t approve of the music the station plays, Haidara said.
“No one came come here and tell us how to practice Islam,” Haidara said. “Timbuktu has been Islamic since the 12th century and we have our own way of doing things.”
Down the road from one of Timbuktu’s mosques, whose wooden doors are decorated with metal crescents and stars, Islamists have made their base at a bank. A sign at the entrance says “Islamic Police” in Arabic and French. Residents have been given a phone number to report serious crimes and other emergencies, but widescale patrols haven’t been deployed to enforce Shariah, at least not yet.
But punishments are being meted out.

On Monday in Gao, one of the three biggest cities in north Mali, two men caught smoking hashish were given 30 lashes in front of the police station, according to Hama Dada Toure, a teacher in Gao. One man who had allegedly beaten his pregnant wife was given 10 lashes and ordered to pay her.
Toure said a flexible tree branch is used in the whippings, the blows delivered with less than full force. The Islamists make the person being punished say “Allahu Akbar. La illah illa-Allah” – meaning “God is great. There is no God but God” – each time the branch strikes them.
The last to be punished that day in Gao were two men who had been fighting. One man had been cut in the fight and the other was told that when the injured man recovered he would be able to inflict the exact same cut on his enemy.
In Kidal, another of the three main cities in Mali’s north, residents say that the Islamists have banned traditional Tuareg festivities where drums are played all afternoon and into the night.
“Tuareg culture is done for here,” mourned Jean Pierre Tita, a resident of the town. “It’s Islamic culture that is going to take over now.”

Tita said the Islamists have been preaching on the streets, as well as in mosques and at funerals.
In a region where residents generally practice a moderate form of Islam, many are having trouble adapting to the new rules.
“We’re not used to them,” said one resident of Gao who asked for anonymity for fear of reprisals. He said many young women have been staying at home since the Islamists started patrolling the streets on the lookout for those who are not in line with Shariah precepts.
“Many young girls are scared of the Islamists and they are not used to going out totally covered up. They don’t even have the right clothes to cover themselves properly so they prefer to say at home,” the resident said. “Most people are against the new rules but some young men who were already very religious are happy with the imposition of Shariah. Some have even joined the Islamists.”
In all three cities, the Islamists have attacked businesses selling alcohol, smashing bottles of beer and spirits. Residents say it’s no longer possible to buy alcoholic beverages.

One of the groups that is imposing strict Islamic law, Ansar Dine – Arabic for Supporters of Islam – was formed at the end of last year and joined the Tuareg rebel group in chasing government forces out of the north a month ago. The Tuareg rebels declared independence for north Mali, but Ansar Dine (pronounced AN-sar deen) now says that it is against north Mali becoming independent.
Western diplomats in Bamako, the capital, say Ansar Dine has links with an even more hard-line militant Islamic group, Al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb, which has kidnapped Europeans and attacked government forces in Mali and beyond. Senior leaders from AQIM have been seen openly in towns in north Mali since Ansar Dine gained some control of them. Diplomats say that fighters sometimes move between the two groups.
Islamist fighters from other countries have been descending on northern Mali in the chaotic aftermath of the military coup in the capital in March that deposed the president. The vast area has become a potential haven for terrorists in a part of the Sahara bristling with heavy weapons looted from Libya. Witnesses in northern Mali and those who have fled to neighboring Niger say they have seen fighters from Algeria, Mauritania and Nigeria.

Another group that is less well known than AQIM, and may be a spinoff from that group, is the Movement for Oneness and Jihad in West Africa, which has also been bringing Shariah law to north Mali.
The Tuareg rebel group, which is called the National Movement for the Liberation of the Azawad, or NMLA, wants the foreign fighters gone.
“We’ve asked the armed groups who are not from here to leave,” said Albachar Ag Hamadou, a member of the NMLA. “As for other armed fighters, soon we will tell them to put down their arms and submit themselves to our authority.”
It is unclear whether the Tuareg nationalists have the firepower to make the Islamists submit to that authority if they don’t do so willingly.

Posted on May 3, 2012 at 11:50amI guess you have trouble with english surhan, it says it was published in beirut in 1989 not sura 1989 it says, hadith 37609- 37611 and I guess that what was discussed in the egypt’s parliament last week was a bunch of lies too.My God you people are so good even if it stares right at your face you will still says its a lie. People all over the world have been asleep all these years, thankfully they are waking up, you should wake up too and leave this cult.

Some of them said: O Allah’s messenger! We see you doing something that nobody has done before. He said: verily I have dressed her in my shirt that she woould be dressed in the robes of heaven. I have had marital relations with her in her grave to lessen from the pressure of ( the punishment of) the grave. She was the first of Allah’s creation made after Abu Talib.

How about the DEA and the War on Drugs? That’s the penultimate nanny state behavior, jailing citizens for choosing to alter their state of consciousness through whatever means one sees fit.
Is there a lot of difference? Not really. From DEA raids to Cary Nation saloon busting, just morals crusaders like the Islamists smashing bottles. What drives most anti-abortion actions, gay marriage opposition and prostitution bans? A religious fervor to control some one else’s morals.

These barbaric savages are not so interested in the religion, but the control over the population that it provides.
Their determination to rule the world will eventually require the west to rise up and chase them home once again (for about the fourth or fifth time). Let‘s hope it won’t be as bloody this time.

Sura 5:73-75,116, Muhammad mistakenly thought the Christian Trinity was 3 gods: the Father, the Mother (Mary), and the Son (Jesus).
Sura 20:87, 95, says the Jews made the golden calf in the wilderness at the suggestion of Samaritans. There were no Samaritans at that time.
Sura 18:85,86, says that Alexander the Great (Zul-qarinain) followed the setting sun and found that it went down into the waters of a muddy spring.
Sura 18:89-98 says Alexander the Great was a Muslim and worshipped Allah and lived to an old age. Actually, Alexander the Great died very young and was by no means a Muslim.
Islam is a LIE that destroys every culture that embraces it.

The Bible has changed the name of the sacrificial son of Abraham from Ishmael to Isaac. However, one thing they forgot to change was how many sons Abraham had at the time. The Bible says God told Abraham to sacrifice his ONLY son. Ishmael was the first born son of Abraham. Ishmael was about thirteen years old when Isaac was born. For twelve years Abraham had ONLY one son, Ishmael.
Genesis 22:2: And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac.
There was never a time in Abraham’s life that he had an ONLY son Isaac.

Sura 5:73-75: They disbelieve who say: Allah is one of three in a Trinity: for there is no god except One God. If they desist not from their word (of blasphemy), verily a grievous penalty will befall the blasphemers among them. (73) Why turn they not to Allah and seek His forgiveness? For Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (74) Christ the son of Mary was no more than an Messenger; many were the Messengers that passed away before him. His mother was a woman of truth. They had both to eat their (daily) food. See how Allah doth makes His Signs clear to them; yet see in what ways they are deluded away from the truth! (75)
The Catholics worship Mary as the mother of God. God is admonishing mankind to cease and desist from that.
Sura 5:116: And behold! Allah will say “O Jesus the son of Mary! Didst thou say unto men, `worship me and my mother as gods in derogation of Allah”? He will say: “Glory to Thee! never could I say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, Thou wouldst indeed have known it. Thou knowest what is in my heart, though I know not what is in Thine. For Thou knowest in full all that is hidden. (116)

Samiri is the name of a person/individual, not a people. His name is actually As-Samiri.
Sura 20:95: (Moses) said: “What then is thy case O Samiri?” (95)
Sura 18:85-86: One (such) way he followed, (85) Until, when he reached the setting of the sun, he found it set in a spring of murky water: near it he found a People: We said: “O Dhu al Qarnayn! (thou hast authority) either to punish them, or to treat them with, kindness.” (86)
This verse and the other verse you referenced ( Sura 18:89-98) has nothing to do with Alexander the Great. It’s laughable that you would even say such a thing.

Those that perpetrate such wickedness should be locked up and the key should be thrown away. Allah is not pleased with that and He will deal with the perpetrators/criminals on the day of resurrection. However, this abhorrent behavior is not limited to the Arab community. Many African Christian tribes have the same tradition. The Qur’an or the Authentic Hadiths does not support this. I challenge you to provide us a scripture that condones this practice.
(2) What proof do you have that Prophet Muhammad was (a) a pedophile or (b) that he married a 6 year old? These stories come from people/haters outside of the Muslim community. They are lies to make the Prophet and Islam look bad. The people/haters/criminals that spread these lies have an agenda to stop the peaceful spread of Islam (which is the fastest growing religion in America and on the planet) and to continue to promote Christianity. Non Muslims cannot stop the spread of Islam based on its teaching alone because the teachings of Islam are impeccable. So they try to assassinate the character of Prophet Muhammad. Again, I challenge you to provide proof that Muhammad married a 6 year (some say 9 year old. The age gets younger based on the level of hatred for Islam/Muhammad of the person telling the story) that doesn’t come from a website that is bashing Islam.

Sahih Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, Number 65
“that the Prophet married her [Aisha] when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old. Hisham said: I have been informed that ‘Aisha remained with the Prophet for nine years (i.e. till his death).”
Ṣaḥih al-Bukhari is one of the six canonical hadith collections which were collected by the Persian Muslim scholar Muhammad ibn Ismail al-Bukhari, after being transmitted orally for generations. In some circles, it is considered the most authentic book after the Qur’an.
What was that, Surhan? You didn’t think your statement would be checked?

Examples of scholars confirming the hadith are legion. “Sahih” (in Sahih Bukhari) means “authentic”. This Hadith was completed about 100 years after Mohummad’s death.
The difference between predatory cults such as Islam and real religions, is that a true religion attempts to bring out the best in people, whereas a predatory cult does the opposite.
Muslims inhabit a different moral universe from the rest of us, where good is evil and evil is good, if it serves the purposes of Islam.
While other religions teach goodwill to mankind, Islam teaches hostility to all non-members of the cult.
Jesus, in the parable of the Good Samaritan, taught his followers to help all people in need, irrespective of their religion. Jews are commanded to be a light unto the nations. The Buddha taught compassion for all suffering beings.
But in Islam, charity applies only to fellow Muslims, and in fact many Islamic charities are money-launderers for jihad.
There is no Golden Rule in Islam. There is no place for conscience in Islam. Peel away the thin veneer of religiosity, and all you find is vicious, primitive, predatory tribalism.

During the Second Gulf War, the Iraqi Information minister justified his false reports of Iraqi victories by quoting Sura 3:54, saying that “Allah was the best of deceivers”. So this is how this Muslim applied this word and this verse.
“Taqiyya” is lying. According to the Koran, taqiyya is permissable, if not obligatory, to deceive non-muslims for the advancement of Islam.
Have you read the Koran?

Well, that’s because Mohummad had adopted a boy called Zaid, who later married a beautiful girl named Zainab. But Mohummad couldn’t keep his eyes off Zainab, so he forced Zaid to divorce her.
But there was one problem: according to Arab custom Zainab was still his daughter-in-law, so he couldn’t have his wicked way with her. Then miraculously, Allah revealed a new law to Mohummad; that adoption was illegal and all previous adoptions null and void. So Zainab was not, and never had been, Mohummad’s daughter-in-law.
In all societies and religions, except Islam, adoption is promoted as an effective way to care for the most vulnerable in the event that the child’s parents have died or are otherwise unable to care for their offspring.
But from that day to this one, muslims are prohibited from adopting children because Mohummad lied in order to have sex with his daughter-in-law.
This one story is the leading cause of apostasy in muslims because it is recorded in their own scriptures, and the lie is so transparent. Then they start to examine everything else with new eyes.
Don’t defend the indefensable, Surhan. Face facts and quit that miserable cult.

1. Regarding Luke 19, you left out “…he went on to tell them a parable…” Jesus was making a point by telling a STORY, Jesus was not giving a command here. Qur’an 9:5, “Fight and slay the pagans wherever you find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem.” IS NOT A STORY, it is a COMMAND from the pedophile murderer Muhammad to his mindless followers.

The story of Abraham and Isaac was written between 1450 – 1410 B.C. The REASON Isaac is named as Abraham’s son, is because Isaac was the “son of promise”. Isaac was the miracle God had promised to Abraham and his wife Sarah in their old age. Before Isaac, Abraham had sex with the Egyptian slave Hagar. This resulted in Ishamael. Ishmael was NOT the miracle “son of promise”, and he and his mother were ejected from the camp. Read Genesis chapters 16 and 17. These passages predate Muhammad’s lies by over 2,000 years.

If a man has 2 sons thirteen years apart and God comes to that man and says take your son, your ONLY son and offer him up as a sacrifice. At what point does the man have 1 son? Abraham prayed to God for a son and God gave him Ishmael.
Genesis 15:3-4: And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir.
4And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.
Genesis 17:18-20: And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee!
19And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.
20And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.

Your own Quran spells out things as facts, not parables or lineage conflicts. These facts condone certain behaviors which are antithetic to individual freedom and health. There is a reason Christianity has spanned the centuries without limiting the progress of the societies it is present in. The same cannot be said for Islam. Whether it is the false form, true form or somewhere in between, it is represented by backwards thinking individuals who would prefer we all live in the 7th century.

Sura 9:5 Is talking about a specific event(s) during the time Prophet Muhammad walked the earth. You, on the other had hand, make it seam as if Allah or Prophet Muhammad are telling Muslims today to do these things.
The name of the religion of people who are followers of Christ is called Christianity. It is not called Church. Moses did not call his religion Judaism nor did Jesus call his religion Christianity. Moses and Jesus are Muslim.

Adam did not establish Judaism or Christianity as a religion. Neither did Cain or Able. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Solomon, David, Moses, Lot, Job, Jonah, John the Baptist and Jesus were not Christians or Jews, but they did worship God. They submitted themselves to the will of God. In Islam, a person that submits themselves to the will of God, that person is called a Muslim. The Arabic word “Islam” means (submit to God’s will) and a person that submits his will to God’s will is called a Muslim. Therefore, all these men were Muslim. The name Islam and Muslim was not given to the religion until after God revealed it Prophet Muhammad through the Angel Gabriel while the Angel was revealing the Qur’an to Muhammad.
These men never heard the words Islam and Qur’an, but they were practicing it. They delivered the message God told them to deliver. They submitted to his will. They were Muslim.
