Israeli Police Fire Tear Gas at Palestinian Protesters After Metal Detector Boycott

Israeli police fired tear gas at Palestinian protesters Sunday after a group refused to go through a metal detector in the city of Hebron.
According to Russia Today, teachers and students refused to go through the detectors at a checkpoint on their way to school, citing “health concerns.” Protesters claimed the Israeli military forced them to go through anyway, triggering the clashes. Police shot several tear gas canisters to disperse the dozens of demonstrators.
A Palestinian News Network reported four people fainted as a result of the tear gas and were transported to a hospital. The outlet claimed the protest due to the school’s closure for the third day in a row, requiring teachers and students to hold classes on the street. It did not mention that they refused to go through the metal detectors.

First off, it’s Russia Today that is reporting this. Secondly, “health concerns”? Over a metal detector? I thought these were supposed to be teachers. All a metal detector is, is an electrically charged coil that produces a magnetic field, and magnetometer. When you have a conductive metal pass through, it alters the magnetic field, and the changes are picked up by the magnetometer. They’re harmless. The magnetic field is so weak that it can’t even affect you.

Report says “they were taken to a hospital.”. Wonder who is providing the hospital? Do the palestinians have any hospitals for their people? I would like to know!
