They are smart enough to see that the photo represents the 45 year old essay which represents the base of the thinking of those who are now acting in a way that strikes many of us as reprehensible and underhanded at best, irresponsible and threatening at worst. (near fail on the attempt) It would be interesting to hear what NPR could do with anybody else’s opinion of her theory. But I forget they are not main stream media, and are probably missing what’s happening in a street near those self same students. Glenn Beck, Glenn Beck, Glenn Beck is not the only one elaborating on that essay, and NPR could get hours of material if they wanted. Too bad the essay makes for such poor TV – it would have been up there in place of that picture, but I guess a picture can paint 1000 words after all; at least for those smart enough to make the connection!

Applicants who already passed the exam are being told they will have to take it again as passing scores will be lowered than the curve they were already graded upon. So, not only do the unions want to shield the less qualified from termination, the cities are being required to hire the less qualified before they even get into the union.
According to Dayton’s Daily News, Keith Lander, chairman of the Dayton chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference is embarrassed by this. The DOJ is “playing games” by lowering the test score, Lander said.
“Lowering the test score is insulting to black people,” he said. “The DOJ is creating the perception that black people are dumb by lowering the score. It’s not accomplishing anything.”
I could not have said it better myself. All people of color should be outraged over this when we do not expect the best out of our public servants and punish those who do perform well by denying them the opportunity to serve and protect.

It definitely is a slap in the face of minorities to lower the standards, especially since their is an abundance of potentially good qualified minority applicants out there.
