It’s Coming: Union, Leftist Leaders Announce ‘99% Spring?’… and Training in ‘Places of Worship’

Since Occupy Wall Street seemingly went into hibernation (we note seemingly because the movement keeps popping up despite what some national outlets are reporting), The Blaze has brought you plenty of analysis theorizing that the spring could be an even bigger time for the movement. Now, it looks like those theories have been confirmed: the unions and other leftists have announced a “99% spring.”

“We are at a crossroads as a country,” a letter on the site dedicated to the new movement says. “We have a choice to make. Greater wealth for a few or opportunity for many. Tax breaks for the richest or a fair shot for the rest of us. A government that can be bought by the highest bidder, or a democracy that is truly of the people, by the people, and for the people.”

It continues: “The choice is in our hands. This spring, we will act on that choice and rise up in the tradition of our forefathers and foremothers. We will not be complicit with the suffering in our families for another year. We will prepare ourselves for sustained non-violent direct action.”

That “preparation” looks like a week-long training session from April 9-15. But not just any training session, this training session will be held across the country and will reportedly feature meetings in “places of worship:”

From April 9-15 we will gather across America, 100,000 strong, in homes, places of worship, campuses and the streets to join together in the work of reclaiming our country. We will organize trainings to:

  1. Tell the story of our economy: how we got here, who’s responsible, what a different future could look like, and what we can do about it
  2. Learn the history of non-violent direct action, and
  3. Get into action on our own campaigns to win change.

“This spring we rise!” the website declares. “We will reshape our country with our own hands and feet, bodies and hearts. We will take non-violent action in the spirit of Martin Luther King, Jr. and Gandhi to forge a new destiny one block, one neighborhood, one city, one state at a time.”

So just who exactly is behind this? The letter contains “signers” that will be familiar to you. Or at least their organizations will. And it’s a buffet of far leftists, unions, and even the communist group Working Families Party. Oh, and of course Van Jones:

But while Bob King of the United Auto Workers (UAW) is a signer of the letter, might the union be behind it more than it’s letting on? It would seem so. The Daily Caller was able to download a cache of files from the UAW website last week that point to a high level of organizing:

[A] series of files The Daily Caller downloaded from the United Auto Workers website indicate that the organized labor powerhouse is behind the effort.

The files, downloaded Sunday, include campaign talking points, a fill-in-the-blank press release template for participating organizations and an advance look at the social media campaign the organizers plan for Facebook and Twitter.

Also included is a “FYI” letter designed for endorsers to distribute, complete with a blank space at the top of the list of participating groups. Filling in a given organization’s name lends the impression that it, not the UAW, is the campaign’s driving force.

A Google cache indicates that the files were available on an unprotected area of the UAW’s web server at least as early as February 16. They disappeared from public view Monday.

The Caller was able to capture the information before it was deleted:

Also interesting? It appears the domain for the 99% Spring was registered by the leftist group MoveOn.org (also a signer of the letter).

“We will rise this spring, because we DO hold these truths to be self evident,” the 99% Spring site concludes, “that all men and women are created equal, that we are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.”

Get ready.

      Wel, what are you waiting for? Spring is just three weeks away. For someone who claims to be a major movement you aren’t very well prepared. What are you going to do wait until Obama gets together his “Civilian Defense Corps” that will be as well-funded and powerful as the military?

      On second thought the civilian defense corps could well be why he started the African Americans for Obama movement. That will be the basis of his civilian army and will encompass the street gangs, the Black Panthers, and the Black Muslims.

      He could also expect to have the unions and OWS on his side too, although I‘m just wondering if they might get a flash beforehand telling them that our dear leader doesn’t have whitey in mind when his “change” finally reaches fruition.

      I’ve never in my life seen a leader who so blatantly attempted to create a race war. And that includes any white groups like the KKK.

      Civil war II is becoming a very real possibility.

      Really Blaze staff? Come on, half of your readership comes from people like me who really enjoy the reactionary comments and the analysis of the radical movement in the United States.

      But seriously, why would you leave out the most important part to the point you are trying to make here: That the Occupy movement has THOROUGHLY rejected these people as obvious cooptation. This and the article last week about the “national constitutional assembly” crap that OWS NYC actually had to put out a statement denouncing.

      We KNOW these people want us to be Obama foot soldiers. It is not going to happen, GB needs to start changing his analysis around to reflect the rejection of the Democratic party and their obvious minions. I mean for christ sakes, he actually went and met Greek Anarchists.       So their masks are off now! They want to force the government to re-distribute wealth of anyone making a certain amount of money in this country but they will NEVER DEFINE what that amount is. Oh you hear from some silly actors its above so many millions but I think the number has to be much much lower for them to really get income re-distribution that kills the working class in this country. Are we talking those making 50k and above? I’ll bet we are, no little token from a measely 1% is going to fix this country…they can’t contribute enough to get everyone a free meal and a free home. They want everyone to be equal, a level playing field that is fair for all. Insanity is brewing right before our very eyes. I feel like a Jew in Germany disbelieving my very own eyes at what the Germans were working towards in the late 30′s. 49% of this country pays no taxes as it is….is that fair?

      Several years ago my son played little league baseball and his team won 1st place in his first year in the league. On little league day they handed out trophies and to my son’s dismay they handed a trophy to everyone in the league. A participation trophy they called it. My son asked me why everyone was getting a trophy, we finished first he said. I told him to display it in his room proudly knowing he had succeeded.. You practiced twice as much as everybody.. You worked harder than they did and you have ability. This is why you succeeded. I also told him you won’t succeed every time, but if you keep working hard you will have your share of success. When the next season started, there were kids on some other teams talking trash to my son that his team was stacked and that’s the only reason he had finished first. I told him to ignore them and just work hard and have fun. I also said their are certain kids that don‘t know what it takes to succeed and will always be jealous and find excuses for why they can’t succeed. Well that season his team didn’t finish first.. When it came to ,ittle league day, when the league president walked up to him with the participation trophy, he said he didn‘t want it because he hadn’t earned it and didn’t deserve it. His coach’s son was right behind him and also refused the trophy.
      It‘s funny how 8 year old kids can figure out what success is and what it takes to earn it and these OWS’s only want the participation trophy or say it

With Obama the door was finally opened. Glenn did excellent work at first exposing the communist ideology that was let in. Where Glenn failed is he does not want accept the idea that it was the civil rights movement that was hijack long ago by the communists and used as a tool to plant the seeds. Today all of the communist “manifesto” is already in working order in our government.Housing, jobs,education, health care, and control everything form the epa to the usda etc. The problem as always with the “New age progressive communists” ideology ..It has run out of money, as we watch with the bloody hands communists it turns to dust when the money’s gone.       Up to now the OWS etc groups have mainly confined themselves to large cities. I’m betting we will see a huge spread into smaller cities and towns – especially those with colleges and high unemployment / government assistance demographics. Because summer equals no school and tolerable weather the number of “useful idiots” will dramatically increase. I also think we’ll see a sharp upswing in large scale violent confrontational incidents.

The economy and foreign relations are such a mess and what a beautiful diversion for the media to focus on and give Obama a false national discontentment to continue to spew his lies and springboard his failed policies into the realm of necessities. Sky high gas prices, lost jobs (the real unemployment rate hovers around 16-17% don’t fall for the shell game tricks of an 8% unemployment), Nuclear Iran, Resource hoarding and exploiting China, Middle East unrest, Falling dollar, strangulating regulations and taxes on domestic business, Increasing government control in industry, banking, education, healthcare, Weaker military, increasing welfare state, clampdown on domestic energy recovery especially oil drilling, class warfare is the mainstay to retain power, Mexican border like a war theater with absolutely no plan to maintain law and order. This is what needs to be focused on not the circus freaks associated with a fringe kook organization that couldn’t hold a job if their daddy owned the company. They are irrelevant and are leeches on our society and way of life that need to plucked off and squashed.

      I posted on another thread how commies infiltrated black churches years ago, and how with Obama’s rise to power the black radicalization goal has been completed. I didn’t mention the commie infiltration of the Catholic Church because it was not relevant to that discussion, but it is to this one. Remember Father Pfleger? The Catholic Church has replicas galore of that commie in America, and you can bet Hispanics have been indoctrinated in their churches as well. As always, the Catholic Church useful idiots are the first to be thrown under the bus, but they never learn.

      These mass mobilizations are right out of the neo-commie playbook. They have taken place in Central and South America wherever commies have seized control or consolidated power. The protests will be followed by the Occupy Voting Booths 2012 move to disrupt the Nov. election. Forget free and fair elections, folks. Forget freedom, period. If Glenn thinks we can go through this commie takeover peacefully, he is out of his mind. Even if we stay peaceful, commies are highly skilled at getting rid of their enemies.

I remember I had a discussion with a friends wife about a year ago – she’s a school teacher and said, quote “Isn’t it amazing that this spring is happening? It’s just so inspiring.” I was in shock how someone could be so naive!!! “Amazing?!” I said, “People are dying by the droves and the muslim brotherhood and sharia law is behind all this.” She didn’t have a response- and I didn’t have the stomach to keep talking to such a moron.       Has anyone noticed a pattern to all of Obama’s speeches….in the first half he waxes eloquent and sounds good, making sure to touch all haeart strings familiar to us, putiing us somewhat at ease, then the second half of the speech sets up a strawman that completely contradicts nearly everything in the first half…….Think about it, this guy uses the same technique delivered with the same structural gait every time he opens his mouth in front of a mic. The same old tired, rehashed arguments said 999 different ways. This man is the most stilted , brain dead sycophant I’ve had the displeasure of watching/listening to.

      How anyone in the Democratic party or liberals for that matter can think this man is smart is beyond me. He’s an amateur of the highest order. I think all of the founding fathers (except Benedict Arnold) and the WW veterans buried in Arlington (around the globe) are collectively rolling over in thier graves at just how low the WH office has sunk ….the end of the Republic is at hand if we do nothing.

      Sorry if you are offended, but you ARE most likely to leave our “block, neighborhood and city” with a new destiny of dog bites, bird shot or handcuffs (criminal tresspass is taken seriously by our local and state police) so good luck. Most of us have no tresspass signs,beware of dog signs, locked gates across our driveways, and multiple dogs that don’t take too kindly to strangers. All of the local business owners have very friendly and long standing relationships with the cops and know them by first names.

      You can call it “cute” all you want but the reality isn’t so “cute” but you just keep thinking that way.

      The locals don’t put up with people trashing our parks and public areas or interfering with traffic and local ordinances can be driven easily from the will of the residents here.

      People if you don’t know your neighbors, your city council and your town you better get off your butt and get moving now.

      I have to agree here. Gary, here’s no room for that kind of threatening talk. Sure, if I am attacked and can’t get away, I will shoot, but I don’t relish the thought of shooting anyone. Others have joked about hitting the range and buying ammo to be ready, but let’s not start threatening unprovoked violence. Then we are every bit as bad as the OWS crowd.

      If any of these union communists in their acts of sedition are shot it will play directly into the hands of their leaders. Make no mistake! Their leaders (soros, van jones) would be overjoyed if a bunch of them were gunned down! Overwhelming the police, local governments, and (worthless I know) news media with complaints and demands is the best course of action against them.       Remember this song well and the time in our history. God’s time-line..to the end of the age. I pray everyday for America and the world….very dark-ages set-up and isn’t it interesting we know there has been a “simmering in the pot” but now it is coming to a “rumbling boil” and the heat was turned up by this current regime here in the USA. When a USA president spews out negative propaganda about the country he wants to transform, the “negative American citizens” are easily organized to do this regime’s biding. America has been placed on its belly, hog-tied, and the second to the last step is to put on “the blindfold” and be taken to a second location.(last step-sock in the mouth) When a female is taken by surprise, Law enforcement tell women to try & not be taken to a second location….bad things will happen. Sometimes a woman goes to plan b and sometimes it works out and sometimes not. To me, “The Clear & Present Danger“ is America is being taken to a ”second location” and there will be a very-bad-outcome.

      I think the so-called Tea Party is fractured, possibly beyond repair. The Tea Party candidate this election season is despised by many self-proclaimed tea partiers who instead are getting behind candidates who are anything but fiscally conservative. Remember, that’s what the Tea Party was all about? It wasn’t about being Pastor in Chief. It was about the spending, stupid. And we can see how well-received the real Tea Party candidate, Ron Paul, is treated by other self-proclaimed tea party members. I don’t know why any of us on the Ron Paul wing of the Tea Party would ever want to stand with people like that. Only if they came over to our side because the fiscally conservative, cut spending side of the tea party IS the tea party. As long as we’re rejected by fellow “tea partiers”, Fox news, and almost all of talk radio, there’s no reason for us to stand with you. We’re not welcome.

    Time for union members that are against this to rise up and protest what their unions are doing. Its time for Americans to write to the President and tell him how disgusted we are with this OWS and his unions. He is the President of all people, not just his favored few.       Talk like hat is exactly what they want. Obama, the media and the pundits are breaking us in to groups, separating by using class warfare. If this turns bad, we will experience the final stake in the heart of our Constitution. We will have Marshall law. They use us as puppets, to plant the seed of discontent, to get the reaction they desire.
      We are in a time frame that our Government is only concerned about the government and their control We need non-violent protests, vetting candidates, and removing our elected officials in the voting booth.

    wireman24 – the system needs to go? we need total absolute collapse? really? well then please tell me, with WHAT system shall it be replaced? do you know of some other system where there are not “haves” & “have nots”? even in your hazy utopian vision of the world there will still be “haves” & “have nots”. that is because there will always be different levels of drive and ambition in people. do you really think if this system collapses you’ll be better off afterwards than you are now? i’m guessing your situation will probably remain somewhat static, since someone like you doesn’t really care WHICH government is taking care of you as long as SOME government is taking care of you. in this life you’re gonna either be a slave to the marketplace or a slave to government. at least in the marketplace you have choice. under government enslavement there is no choice. so please tell me, when you collapse THIS system, under which government control would you like to be enslaved? or haven’t you thought your argument through that far (to its logical conclusion)?
