As the U.S. House of Representatives attempted to repeal the Affordable Care Act for the 33rd time on Wednesday, Rep. Joe Crowley (D-N.Y.) took to the House floor and ridiculed Republicans, saying the GOP’s health care plan was the equivalent of “chicken noodle soup.”
(Related: House Votes to Repeal Obamacare, With Help From Five Dems)
Crowley began by accusing Republicans of being relentless in their quest to repeal “Obamacare” while refusing to provide any details on what they plan on replacing President Obama’s health care law with. The House voted 244-185 in favor of repealing Obamacare Wednesday, though the vote was largely symbolic has almost no chance of advancing any further.
“But I think I figured out what the GOP wants to replace the Affordable Care Act with,” he said, unveiling a ridiculously large photo of a can of Campbell’s chicken noodle soup. “Mmm!”
Crowley continued to mock Republicans, saying they must have taken “grandma’s“ words too literally when she told them chicken noodle soup was a ”cure-all” for everything.
“Can’t afford health care coverage and need medical care? Have some chicken noodle soup. Been diagnosed with a serious disease and can’t afford the prescription drugs you need to treat it? Have some chicken noodle soup,” Crowley said.
He continued, “I don’t know why Republicans want to go back to the day when chicken noodle soup was the only option for hard-working families who couldn’t afford care. The truth is, chicken noodle soup might be mmm-mmm good lunch, but as a health care policy, it is mmm-mmm bad.”
Yes, this actually happened. Watch the video here:

Posted on July 11, 2012 at 10:52pmYou know actually Romney’s signature accomplishment in office, healthcare for the average citizen with the individual mandate has worked out very well for the state of Michigan. It’s the best thing he ever did in office (he was like at the bottom in the nation for job creation, but let’s just forget about that). Almost all Michigan citizens are now covered by insurance, and there isn’t one dang socialist in Michigan! Nor have they lost freedom! Dang, how does that fit into the Tea Party of picture of gloom and doom and the end of the world and total despotism and death that comes with an individual mandate? I don’t get it.
Hey check out Romney Governor portrait. In the lower right hand corner, just below his wife’s photo, you see a caduceus on a binder, that snake symbol of the medical profession, representing his healthcare reform law. Isn’t it odd that his most important accomplishment, one that he chose to put just below his wife in his official portrait was his healthcare bill? And now he’s running against the exact same thing?
Does anyone but me find that odd? Here’s the official portrait:

Psssssssst…………the people of Michigan might be surprised to hear that.
JZS, have you been to Detroit lately…….I think you might find some socialists there.
And I KNOW you will find a bunch in MASSACHUSETTS.
Here’s a good article,

Posted on July 11, 2012 at 11:16pmJZS,
And please stop calling it the affordable care act.
It’s not affordable, and there will be little caring involved. (It’s up to 2.6 Trillion already, from 900 Billion just last year)
Does that sound affordable to you?
It always has, and always will be known as the albatross that it is. “OBAMACARE”

Posted on July 11, 2012 at 11:33pmJZSaul,
Why do you care so much about the health care that anyone might or might not receive?
Especially when you are a proponent of abortion, and see nothing wrong with it?
What kind of health care is that?
Does anyone but me find that odd?
Of course it’s not really about health care at all…….now is it?
Tell us more about what you think Jesus would think and do.
You are a charlatan.

Posted on July 12, 2012 at 12:55am@JZC, First off get your information right, Romney is the Governor of MA, not MI, you do know how to read a map right? Secondly there is a big difference between what a State is allowed to do and what the Government can force you to do. You do remember the Enumerated Powers do you not? Romney had every right to pass a Health Care Bill in his own State, it was his right too. The Government, on the other hand, does not have the right to force U.S Citizens to have or buy anything it goes against the Constitution and the Enumerated Powers and is why Romney is against it. Romney want’s it to be up to each individual State to decide what is best for them and keeping it out of the Governments hands which it should be.

Posted on July 11, 2012 at 6:38pmObamacare is a disaster. No state in their right mind would run an exchange. It is way too expensive. Obamacare estimates assumed all states would run their own exchange. If the Feds have to run the exchange the cost of Obamacare will be in the trillions. Our country will be bankrupt and the world will feel the effects of a crashed US Dollar. Nice going Democrats – You are killing us all.

interstate insurance…insurance across state lines. We buy it on the internet at the best price.
insuring 26 or 27 year olds is fine.
not so sure about the pre-existing conditions. People could wait until they are sick again to purchase insurance. Maybe – pre-existing with limitations. Like, purchased 6 months or a year prior to use.
Also like the stuff that the Republicans had in their first proposals… like a tax deduction or reimbursement for insurance purchase.
We just need to get rid of this tax and entitlement!

As a surgeon, I disagree with most of the Health Care Act. As a citizen of the US, I disagree with all of it. We can not handle it. It will continue the bankrupting of the US.

They had to have this healthcare bill and avoided the economy and big spending like the plague to get it…now they want to change the subject because they know Obama care is extremely unpopular…They could give a dam about the people this affecting including small businesses, and those on medicaid.

Posted on July 11, 2012 at 5:42pmPoliticians need to stop with the theatrics. The are supposed to be learned men that are capable of intellectual debate and work towards resoving issues rather than cheap rhetoric. This type of action should be forbidden on the floor of the House and Senate, as should all name calling. Come prepared with facts and not twisted ones either. At this point almost all of the representatives need to be tossed out on their keisters. And when it comes to “walking out” on a vote, it should be job abandonment and they should be removed from office.
