"It's not Islamophobia, it's Islamorealism" ads have cropped up at train stations in a New York suburb. (Image source: Journal News)
An anti-Islamic advertisement is causing a stir in suburban New York with its message of “Islamorealism.”
It reads: “19,250 deadly Islamic attacks since 9/11/01 (and counting). It’s not Islamophobia, it’s Islamorealism.”

Image source: New York Daily News
Signs with the message have gone up at several Metro-North Railroad stations in Westchester County, N.Y., according to the Journal News. They’re paid for by the American Freedom Defense Initiative, led by activist Pamela Geller — the same group behind similar anti-jihad ads that recently appeared in San Francisco.
“The message I am trying to send is that it is not ‘Islamophobic’ to oppose jihad terror,” Geller, who runs the blog Atlas Shrugs, said in an email to the newspaper. “I’m also trying to highlight the reality and magnitude of Islamic jihad and the mainstream media’s cover-up of it.”
But not everyone agrees: Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner told the New York Daily News he says the advertisements “encourage hatred.” He wants to see the profits from the ad campaign donated to help fight discrimination.
“There are many Muslims residing in Greenburgh and in our villages,” Feiner said. “They should not be discriminated against. The posters encourage hatred, discrimination and do not help the efforts to fight hate crimes.”
John Harris, chairman of the regional Anti-Defamation League in New York, told the Journal News the ads contribute to “stereotyping an entire religion.”
“Suspecting every Muslim is secretly a jihadist creates an atmosphere that makes discrimination easier and more acceptable,” Harris said. “There are extremists in every religion whose views reflect hatred and bigotry towards people they don’t understand, and to condemn the entire faith based on the views of a small minority is unwarranted.”
A spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority told the newspaper it doesn’t endorse the views expressed in the ad, but doesn’t ban advertisements based on their message.

Luke 19:11; 18-27
11 While they were listening to this, he went on to tell them a parable,
18 The second came and said, ‘Sir, your mina has earned five more.’
“His master answered, ‘You take charge of five cities.’
“Then another servant came and said, ‘Sir, here is your mina; I have kept it laid away in a piece of cloth. I was afraid of you, because you are a hard man. You take out what you did not put in and reap what you did not sow.’
“His master replied, ‘I will judge you by your own words, you wicked servant! You knew, did you, that I am a hard man, taking out what I did not put in, and reaping what I did not sow? Why then didn’t you put my money on deposit, so that when I came back, I could have collected it with interest?’
“Then he said to those standing by, ‘Take his mina away from him and give it to the one who has ten minas.’
“‘Sir,’ they said, ‘he already has ten!’
“He replied, ‘I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what they have will be taken away. But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them—bring them here and kill them in front of me.’”

You obviously salivate over any violent passage contained in the Bible. By comparison, when expressed as a percentage of cruel or violent verses, the qur’an has about twice as many as the Bible. Just because these passages are violent doesn’t make them islamic!
Recently you indicated that Jesus prophesied the coming of muhammud, the “prophet” that denies the tenants, lessons, teachings and writings of the ONLY TRUE GOD: THE GOD OF ABRAHAM ISAAC AND JACOB. Unfortunately for you YOU HAVE CHOSEN!
-Between the 1600 year record of God to mankind as revealed through all of His prophets and witnesses, that His people have followed through two covenants for 3500 years, or the EXACT OPPOSITE through the stand-alone 23 year record of A SINGLE 7th century southwest Arabian desert dwelling illiterate, and his recycled Sabian and Quraish Arabian moon, sun, star and jinn-devil worship rituals. Rituals that take place in the city of Mecca, which no historical or archaeological record suggests, ever existed before immigrants from Yemen settled the area in about the 4th century AD!
If Muhammad was a true prophet of the God of the bible, then all the other prophets were false!

Posted on August 18, 2012 at 2:08am@ HEARTITORLEAVEIT- Well, well, well if it’s not my old friend heartitorleavit. You see I‘m told by Christians that Jesus was better than Muhammad and that the Bible is a better book than the Qur’an because Jesus is love and Prophet Muhammad is hate. The Bible is the word of God and the Qur’an is the word of Satan.
However, when you do a side by side comparison of each book and each individual, if you have an honest assessment you will see that there‘s hardly a hair’s difference between Muhammad and Jesus’ teachings.
And that‘s the part that you can’t handle. You can’t handle the truth! You can’t handle that Jesus prophesied the coming of Muhammad. Or that Jesus is not God and that he did not say worship me. That Jesus did not die for the sins of the world.
Once upon a time, a man came to Jesus and said: Matthew 19:16-17: Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
If Jesus is God, than the above verse is blasphemy because God is good, but Jesus is telling the man not to call him good, but to call God alone good. As a man, Jesus had a right to be modest. If Jesus is God he can’t be so modest because God is good and He would have to accept what the man is saying.
You have the mistaken belief that there’s more than one God.

Posted on August 18, 2012 at 2:34am@ HEARTITORLEAVEIT- Abraham, Ishmael, Issac, Jacob, Jesus, and Muhammad all worshiped the same God. There’s only one God!
God told Moses to tell his people that there’s only one God and worship him. 1400 years after Moses, Jesus said the exact same thing word for word without the changing of a “.” or like it says in the Bible without the changing of a tittle to his followers.
Prophet Muhammad is made to say in the Qur’an when he was asked by non Muslims what his concept of God is: He paused for a brief minute. And waited for the head computer in the sky (talking about God) to give him the answer to the question. God was pushing Muhammad’s buttons (metaphorically speaking, I mean God was giving him the answer to the question) after a minute Prophet Muhammad said:
He is Allah. Allah the one and only. The Eternal, The Absolute. He does not give birth and He was not born, and there’s nothing at all, like unto Him.
Exactly, what was given by Jesus before Muhammad and by Moses before Jesus. Muhammad is a true Prophet of God.
You asked me: “So what inspires you, sirhan? -To desire to believe the scriptures were corrupted?”
Let me give you an example of a corrupted scripture. We’re told that Matthew was a disciple of Jesus and that he wrote the book of Matthew. However, when you read the Book of Matthew you will see that the disciple Matthew had nothing to do with this book.

Posted on August 18, 2012 at 3:04am@ HEARTITORLEAVEIT- Matthew 9:9: And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and Jesus saith unto him, Follow me. And Matthew arose, and followed Jesus.
As you can tell (any child in standard 2 or what you call 2nd grade) will tell you that the above verse is not Jesus, nor is it the disciple Matthew. This is someone writing from an eyewitness or earwitness or historical point of view.
Now, here’s what a good book looks like: Psalm we are told is the book of David. Well, let us have a look and see at the internal evidence to see if it true.
Psalm 2:7: I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
As you can see according to the internal evidence this is the book of David. David is speaking from the first person perspective, so we have no problem in recognizing that this is the book of David.
By the way, how can God have two begotten sons if Jesus is supposed to be the “only” begotten son?
Here’s John 3:16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Here’s Psalm 2:7 I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
Psalm was written 100 years before John, so, what happened? Did God forget that he already had a begotten son when John was written?

Posted on August 18, 2012 at 3:37am@ HEARTITORLEAVEIT- As you can see, from this mistake alone we can see that the Bible is not the word of God. I’ll give you another example of the Bible not the word of God.
Jesus told his followers that Elias had already come:
Matthew 17:12-13: But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.
13Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.
Now here is how John the Baptist responds to the same question:
John 1:19-21: And this is the record of John the Baptist, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?
20And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.
21And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.
What the hell?! How can John the Baptist answer “I AM NOT”? John received the Holy Spirit while he was in his mother’s womb. Jesus is God (according to you and Christianity) How can both these men have a different answer to the same question?
Jesus says this about John the Baptist: Matthew 11:11: Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist:
This is blasphemous! Someone is lying either John or Jesus! I’ll leave this to you Christians to figure out.

Posted on August 18, 2012 at 12:30pmNo, Jesus never said the exact three words, “I am God”. But Jesus also never said the exact four words, “I am a prophet” or the exact four words “I am a man,” but we know he was both a prophet and a man. It is not necessary for Jesus to say the exact phrase “I am a man” for us to know that he was a man. Likewise, it is not necessary for Jesus to utter the exact three words “I am God” in order for us to determine whether or not he is divine. Jesus may not have said the exact sentence “I am God” but he did claim the divine name for himself (Exo. 3:14 with John 8:58) and he also received worship (Matt. 2:2; 14:33; 28:9; John 9:35-38).
When Moses was up at the Mount speaking to God, Moses asked God what his name was. God said, “I AM WHO I AM”; and He said, ‘Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel,‘ ’I AM has sent me to you,’ (Exodus 3:14). In John 8:58 Jesus said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.” Right after this the Jews picked up stones to throw at him. Later, in John 10:30-33 Jesus claimed to be one with the Father and the Jews wanted to stone him again because they said to Jesus, “You, being a man, make yourself out to be God.” Jesus had claimed the divine name for his own and the Jews wanted to kill him for it. Therefore, from Jesus’ own mouth we see that he was claiming to be God.

Posted on August 18, 2012 at 12:51pmThe God of Christianity and the God of Islam are not the same. First of all, the God of Christianity is a Trinity where the god of islam is not. The Trinity is the monotheistic teaching that God exists eternally as three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. In islam, this is blatantly denied.(qur’an 5:116) (qur’an 4:171)
Furthermore, in Christianity the doctrine of the Trinity allows for the incarnation of the Word. John 1:1, 14 says that the Word which was God was with God and became flesh and dwelt among us and was crucified (Matt. 26:2; 27:38). This is denied in islam, which says that Jesus is only a prophet and was not crucified.(qur’an 19:30)(qur’an 4:157)
So, the God of Islam and the God of Christianity are not the same.

Posted on August 18, 2012 at 12:57pmmuslims argue that John 14:16 is a prophecy about Muhammad. They argue this from a verse in the qur’an, (Surah 61:6).
The alleged equivalent for Ahmad (“praised one”) in Arabaic is periclytos (“praised one”) in Greek. However, periclytos does not even occur in John 14:16. Instead, the Greek word paraclete (“helper”) occurs. Therefore, in order to support their argument, Muslims have to argue that the text of John has been corrupted!
First, there is absolutely no ancient textual evidence among all of the over 5,600 Greek manuscripts to place the word periclytos (“praised one”) in place of paraclete (“helper”).2 For a Muslim to argue that the correct reading should be periclytos instead of paraclete, shows his lack of understanding of the actual Greek text and the reliability of the copying of the New Testament.
Second, in the same passage, Jesus explicitly identified the “Helper” as the Holy Spirit: “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send, will teach you” (John 14:26). Therefore, with all due respect, the muslim argument is already defeated.
Third, this “Helper” was given to Jesus’ apostles (the “you” in John 14:16) not to Arabs living over 550 years later! It was given to those who “have been with . . . [him] from the beginning” (John 15:27; cf. Acts 1:22; Luke 1:1-2). However, muhammad was not one of Jesus’ apostles.
Report Post »heartitorleaveit
Posted on August 18, 2012 at 1:00pmcont……
Fourth, this “Helper” was to abide with them “forever” (John 16), but Muhammad has been dead for over thirteen centuries!
Fifth, Jesus told the disciples, “You know Him [the Helper]” (v. 17), but the apostles did not know Muhammad. He was not born until over 500 years later!
Sixth, Jesus also told the disciples that the Helper would be “in you” (v. 17). How Muhammad could be “in” the disciples stretches all credibility. This reference of being “in” the disciples clearly is a reference to the Holy Spirit’s role of dwelling inside believers as the context of John (John 14:16-26) and the rest of the New Testament (Ephesians 1:13; 4:30) indicates.
Seventh, Jesus said that the Helper would be sent “in My [Jesus’] name” (John 14:26). However, no Muslim believes that Muhammad was sent in Jesus’ name.
Eighth, the Helper whom Jesus would send would not “speak on His own authority” (John 16:13). However, Muhammad constantly testifies of himself. For example, in Surah 33:40, Muhammad says of himself, “Muhammad is . . . The Apostle of God, And the Seal of the Prophets.”
Ninth, the Helper would “glorify” Jesus (John 16:14). How would Muhammad actually be glorifying Jesus if Muhammad is the last (and the sealer) of the prophets? He really would not be “glorifying” an earlier, inferior prophet like Jesus.
Report Post »heartitorleaveit
Posted on August 18, 2012 at 1:01pmcont…
Tenth, and finally, Jesus said that the Helper would come in “not many days” (Acts 1:5), but Muhammad did not come for almost 600 years! Since the Helper is the Holy Spirit, He did come merely 40 days later (Acts 1:5; 2:1ff).
Therefore, given the above evidence, the Holy Spirit clearly is the Helper in John 14:16, not Muhammad.

Posted on August 18, 2012 at 1:07pmMy observation has been that the majority of “biblical contradictions” raised by muslims are nothing more than examples of their lack of understanding of biblical theology and context. Always read the context of verses. Don’t let a muslim simply state that there are contradictions and leave it at that. Ask him to give you one. If you cannot answer it, do research and get back to him. Sure, there are some tough areas of Scripture, but there are no contradictions in God’s Word.

Posted on August 18, 2012 at 1:09pmMuslims often make the claim that Paul never met Jesus and was not a disciple or apostle of Jesus. Of course, this is not true. Paul encountered Jesus on the road to Damascus in Acts 9, after Jesus’ resurrection. Jesus spoke to him and commissioned him. So, Paul met Jesus. Furthermore, Paul visited the Jerusalem apostles Peter, James, and John who affirmed Paul’s mission and message (See Gal. 2:9. Also, see the context of Galatians 1:18 – 2:10.) Peter, who was a disciple of Jesus, personally authenticated Paul’s writings by calling them scripture in 2 Pet. 3:15-16. If they are inspired, then they cannot contradict Jesus’ words.
In addition, many Muslims claim that Jesus never claimed to be God and that Paul is the one who wrote that Jesus was God. First of all, if they admit that Paul wrote that Jesus was God, then remind them of 2 Pet. 3:15-16 where Peter calls Paul‘s writings Scripture and affirms Paul’s message in Gal. 2:9. Nevertheless, they sometimes assert that Paul hijacked Christianity and took it over and made Jesus into something He was not. This claim is false.
Report Post »heartitorleaveit
Posted on August 18, 2012 at 1:10pmPerhaps the primary area where Muslims think Paul and Jesus contradict is in the area of who Jesus is. Paul states that Jesus is God in flesh: Col. 2:9 says, “For in Him the fullness of deity dwells in bodily form,” (cf. Rom. 9:5). Muslims assert that no where in the Gospels did Jesus claim to be God. Therefore, they claim, Paul’s words are not true and the Bible is not trustworthy.
This attack by Muslims is an attack based out of opinion. Jesus did claim to be God. In John 8:56-59, Jesus says, “Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.” 57The Jews therefore said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?” 58Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.” 59Therefore they picked up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself, and went out of the temple.”3 Why did the Pharisees want to kill Jesus? They explain their reason in John 10:33 when they say, “For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God,” (KJV). Whether or not the Muslim will accept this, let alone agree that this is correct, matters little because his presupposition will not allow him to accept, no matter what. Nevertheless, the text clearly states that the Pharisees understood that Jesus was claiming to be God.

consider John 5:18 where the Apostle John says, “Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God,” (KJV). In this verse Jesus healed on the Sabbath and the Pharisees thought He was breaking the Sabbath law. John the Apostle also states that when Jesus claimed that God was His Father, that it was “making himself equal with God.” The Muslim will always find a way to argue out of these texts. But, two facts remain. First, Jesus claimed to be God. Second, the Pharisees denied that Jesus was God and the Muslims agree with them.
There are other areas that the Muslims will say are where Jesus and Paul do not agree, but when they bring it up, always ask for an example. Each time I’ve done this, I’ve discovered that the Muslim did not have a sufficient understanding of what the text is saying. Remember, always read the context.

Posted on August 18, 2012 at 1:19pmMuslims believe that the Bible has been corrupted (it hasn’t), so that they can make room for the justification to deny what it really says. Instead of believing the eyewitnesses, they believe what Mohammed said about Jesus 600 years later. So, essentially they are believing what their so-called Prophet said instead of those who actually walked and talked with Christ.
Basic Christian theology teaches that Jesus was both God and man. He had two natures. He was both divine and human at the same time. This teaching is known as the hypostatic union; that is, the coming-together of two natures in one person. In Heb. 2:9 states that Jesus was “. . . made for a little while lower than the angels . . .” Also in Phil. 2:5-8, it says that Jesus “emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men . . .” Col. 2:9 says, “For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form.” Jesus was both God and man at the same time.
Therefore, since he was a man (though not only a man) and since he was made under the law, and lower than the angels, it is natural to conclude that he would have someone that he would call God. In this case, it is God the Father.

But we must make a clarification. To say that Jesus Christ is God is not as clear a statement as it needs to be. Christianity teaches that God is a Trinity; that is, God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. To say that Jesus Christ is God is almost like saying that he is the Trinity, and that would make no sense. When the Christian says that Jesus is God, he really means that Jesus is divine in nature. Since God is three persons, and since Jesus is the second person in the Trinity, he shares the same divinity with the Father and Holy Spirit.
Having explained this, when Jesus says “Our God” it must be understood that Jesus is speaking as a man. But it does not mean he does not possess the divine nature as well.

Prophet Muhammad does glorify Jesus throughout the Qur’an. The Jews had accused his mother Mary of being raped by a Roman soldier and this soldier was the father of Jesus. The Qur’an says:

Again, you and the author that wrote this are absolutely wrong. The Bible is not the word of God because it contradicts the Qur’an, The Bible is not the word of God because it contradicts ITSELF!
Allow me to give you some examples: John 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time. 1 Timothy 6:16 God, whom no man hath seen, nor can see. Exodus 33:20 And God said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.
Contradicted by: Exodus 33:11 And the LORD spake unto Moses FACE to FACE, as a man speaketh unto his friend. Exodus 24:10 And they (Moses Aaron and seventy others) SAW the God of Israel. Genesis 32:30 And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have SEEN God FACE to FACE, and my life is PRESERVED.
And as a special dispensation God showed Moses his back parts:
Exodus 33:23 And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts.
Here’s another contradiction: 1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is NOT the author of confusion, contradicted by: Isiah 45:7 I make peace, and CREATE EVIL: I the LORD do all these things.

You are half right here. Jesus and Paul never physical met one another. Since Jesus did not die there can be no resurrection. Paul claimed he had a vision from Jesus on the road to Damascus. Jesus never hand picked Paul as a disciple while he was still on earth. All of his disciples were Jewish. Paul anointed himself an apostle. He was self appointed.
Paul also said that the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus was according to his gospel: 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.
When Jesus’ followers heard that this fool was out there preaching something that Jesus had never taught them, they called him a babbler: Acts 17:18 … And some said, What will this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection.
These people had broken bread with Jesus. Lived with Jesus. Prayed with Jesus and they had never heard him say any of the things this Babbler was teaching. They had never laid eyes on this guy during Jesus’ lifetime.

No. 1 Attack the validity of the Bible
No. 2 Attempt to set Paul against Jesus
No. 3 Misrepresentation of Christian doctrine
No. 4 Misinterpreting various Scripture passages
No. 6 Claim their thinking is correct and Christian thinking is incorrect
No. 7 Switching topics when challenged
The Trinity. Muslims so often attack a false understanding of the Trinity by stating that it is three gods. That is not the correct Christian definition of the Trinity doctrine. Christianity does not teach there are three gods. It never has and it never will. The doctrine of the Trinity is that there is only one God who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Trinitarianism is monotheistic. If a Muslim continues to proclaim that the Trinity is three gods, then SIMPLY STOP DISCUSSIONS with him because he is not willing to accept what the definition is and it isn’t possible to have a meaningful dialogue.
Another Christian doctrine they fail to understand is the Hypostatic Union. This is the teaching that Jesus is one person with two natures. He is both God and man as is declared in Col. 2:9, “For in Him [Jesus] dwells the fullness of the Godhead bodily.” Because Jesus was also a man, we have verses such as John 14:28 where Jesus says “the Father is greater than I.” Muslims will say that if Jesus is God, how could He be greater than Himself?

Posted on August 19, 2012 at 12:43amPaul encountered Jesus on the road to Damascus in Acts 9, after Jesus’ resurrection. 3:15-16. If they are inspired, then they cannot contradict Jesus’ words.
muslims claim that Jesus never claimed to be God and that Paul is the one who wrote that Jesus was God.
Perhaps the primary area where Muslims think Paul and Jesus contradict is in the area of who Jesus is.

This is a very common question and the answer is found in understanding the Trinity and the incarnation of Jesus.
The Trinity is the doctrine that there is only one God in all existence. This one God exists as three persons: The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are not three gods, but one God. Each is a separate person, yet each of them is, in essence, divine in nature.
A close analogy of the Trinity can be found by looking at the concept of time. Time is past, present, and future. There are three “aspects” or “parts” of time. This does not mean that there are three “times,” but only one. Each is separate, in a sense, yet each shares the same nature, or essence. In a similar way, the Trinity is three separate persons who share the same nature.

The Incarnation
The doctrine of the incarnation in Christian teaching is that Jesus, who is the second person of the Trinity, added to himself human nature and became a man.
The Bible says that Jesus is God in flesh, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…..and the word became flesh and dwelt among us,” (John 1:1, 14); and, “For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form,” (Col. 2:9). Jesus, therefore, has two natures. He is both God and man.
Jesus is completely human, but He also has a divine nature.
GOD
He is worshiped (Matt. 2:2,11; 14:33; 28:9)
He is prayed to (Acts 7:59; 1 Cor. 1:2)
He was called God (John 20:28; Heb. 1:8)
He was called Son of God (Mark 1:1)
He is sinless (1 Pet. 2:22; Heb. 4:15)
He knew all things (John 21:17)
He gives eternal life (John 10:28; 17:2)
The fullness of deity dwells in Him (Col. 2:9)
MAN
Report Post »He worshiped the Father (John 17)

He was tempted (Matt. 4:1)
He grew in wisdom (Luke 2:52)

As a man, Jesus needed to pray. When He was praying he was not praying to Himself, but to God the Father.

Posted on August 19, 2012 at 1:11amTHE CONTEXT! THE CONTEXT! THE CONTEXT! THE CONTEXT! muslims should get a dictionary! dang….
In order to understand the context of Jesus’ prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane in Matthew 26:38-39, it is important to first understand the context of Matthew 26. In this chapter, Jesus makes some interesting statements about His coming death.
When talking to the disciples, He said, “You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man is to be handed over for crucifixion,” (Mt. 26:2).
When the woman anoints Jesus’ feet with a box of precious oil, Jesus says, “For you always have the poor with you; but you do not always have Me. 12 For when she poured this perfume on My body, she did it to prepare Me for burial.13 Truly I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be spoken of in memory of her,” (Mt. 26:11-13).
When breaking the bread while He was performing the first Lord’s supper, He said, “‘…Take, eat; this is My body.’2 27 And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you; 28 for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins,” (Mt. 26:27-28).

And he would be struck down and resurrected from the dead (Mt. 26:31-32). All of these statements by Jesus indicate that He knew that He was going to die by crucifixion.
The Garden of Gethsemane
In Matthew 26:38-39 Jesus is praying in the Garden of Gethsemane, being deeply grieved about the sufferings that He is going to face. The Gospels record that He sweat great drops of blood, a condition known as hematidrosis where blood can be secreted in the sweat due to tremendous amounts of stress.
Since Jesus was a man, He despised having to endure the shame of the cross (Heb. 12:2). However, He surrendered His will to God’s plan by saying “yet not as I will, but as You will” and willingly endured the cross. Jesus never says in this passage that He is not going to be crucified.
Why did Jesus pray to “let this cup pass”?
However, Muslims often wonder, if Jesus knew He was going to face crucifixion, why did He pray to the Father to not face crucifixion?
Jesus was both God (John 1:1; 8:24) and man (John 1:14). As man, he faced the realities of pain and suffering. As any normal human being, Jesus did not want to have to face the rigors of the crucifixion events, but He willingly accepted God’s plan as the context of the Gospel of Matthew, the other Gospels, and the rest of the New Testament indicates.

Furthermore, it is true that the disciples did not expect Jesus to be crucified since they wanted a reigning political Messiah who would triumph over the Romans. This was consistent with the Jewish Messianic expectations of the first century. However, Jesus radically departed from this norm and suffered in His first coming (cf. Is. 52:13-53:12).
The Crucifixion
The Gospel of Matthew clearly teaches that Jesus was crucified (Mt. 27:33-56). For a Muslim to argue that Jesus was not crucified does not make sense both with the context of Jesus’ statements in Matthew 26, the rest of the Gospel of Matthew, the rest of the Gospels (see Mark, Luke, and John), the rest of the New Testament (cf. 1 Cor. 15:3-8), and various secular sources.5 This argument based on Matthew 26:38-39 is another failed attempt by Muslims to deny the crucifixion of Jesus.

The woman said this to Jesus: Matthew 15:27 She replied, “That’s true, Lord, but even dogs are allowed to eat the scraps that fall beneath their masters’ table.”
In essence what Jesus did by healing her daughter was to give her the scraps. He did’t tell the lady to worship him as God. Or tell her how to get to heaven. Or tell her that he came to die for her sins. He didn‘t say he was God’s begotten son. Nothing, all he did was give crumbs from his table. As a matter of fact when she first approached him he turned his back on her and didn’t saw a word to her.
Matthew 15:23 But he answered her not a word.

Posted on August 19, 2012 at 10:06amthis is my first post, bear with me as i explain a few things biblically to surhansurhan, if you need proof of the trinitys existence, have you ever considered gen. 1:1, in the beginning God created, the word used for God is elohim, it is a plural noun, defining a plural meaning to a singular entity, as further proof, go to vs 26, where it is stated by God, let us make man in our image, see the plurality used in the words us and our, if this doesnt explain a plural nature ie the Trinity, then there is no hope for you who believe not, furthermore, Jesus states many times in the scriptures, the phrase I AM, hebrew, ehyeh asher ehyeh, ie I AM equating divinity, so all of the comments on Jesus claiming He never said or equated Himself with divinity are ignorant of word origins and meanings, He also did say , love thy neighbor as thyself, a concept that escapes Islam, as we can see daily on the news at how they love their neighbors, check out the many beheadings, crucifixions, rapes, stolen property and threats to all who disagree with their satanically inspired dogma, a so-called religion enforced by hate and violence, written by the biggest hypocrite to his own “ religion of peace ” which peace when it exists in muslim countries is a suffocating enslavement, or death

Posted on August 19, 2012 at 10:59am@ YOLTZ- The Bible is a Jewish book full of metaphors and symbolism’s for which you have no experience in. You don’t have a background in. The argument between Muslims and Christians is you are taking things that were meant metaphorically and taking them literally.
You mentioned in the book of Genesis that God is speaking about Himself in plural form and that this plural form supports your idea of a Trinity. You’re wrong. In middle eastern culture (including Arabs and Jews) and in British English, there are 2 types of plurals. There’s a plural of numbers and plurals of respect.
There is no such thing as a plural of respect in American English (which I take it you are). Which is probably why you’ve never heard of plural of respect. The Old Testament is translated from Hebrew and the text that you have given us from Genesis is not a plural of numbers, but a plural of respect that the Jews had for God.
In Great Britain when the Queen makes a proclamation her proclamation is read in the same fashion that you’ve outline from Genesis. The proclamation is not speaking on behalf of her her husband and her son, but a plural of respect.
The Hebrew phrase: “ehyeh asher ehyeh” doesn’t mean divinity. Loosely translated it means “I am whatever I am” God told Moses to go tell his people to repent and worship Him and Moses said to God. “they are going to want to know who sent me. What shall I tell them…what shall I say?”..

Posted on August 19, 2012 at 11:23am@ YOLTZ- …God said to Moses “look don’t waste time on who I am go tell them “ehyeh asher ehyeh” I am what I am.
For instance you might say to me…,well, what is your backing ground in religion? My response would be: look, don’t waste time on me, if I said something and you liked it, accept it, if you didn’t like it, reject it. I am what I am; “ehyeh asher ehyeh”
One last thing, and this is very important. A religion cannot be judged by the people that call themselves whatever the name of the religion is. You have to look to the teachings of it‘s religious book and then you will get a better idea of what it’s all about. You also have to study it with and open mind, almost with the intention on converting. You don’t have to convert but you get a better understanding of what the other guy is thinking. What angel he’s coming.
Learn about Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism and Islam, but learn as if you’re going to convert in order to have a good idea about what you know.

Posted on August 19, 2012 at 8:38pmThe Myth:
The qur’an is to muslims what the Bible is to Christians (and the Torah to Jews).
The Truth:
The qur’an only contains what is presented as the literal words of allah – as relayed by muhammad. It can be compared to a manufactured text that includes only the words of Jesus (the so-called “red-letter” verses) extracted from their New Testament historical context and then randomly mixed together (the chapters of the qur’an are arranged by size and themes are rarely consistent even within each chapter).
By contrast, the Bible contains history and biographical detail. For example, there is nothing in the qur‘an that details muhammad’s life, whereas the Bible contains four books that present all that is known about the biography of Jesus. Another distinction is that when the Bible commands violence – as it does in a handful of Old Testament verses – the intended target is explicitly defined within the passage, leaving little doubt that it is a recounting of history and not an open-ended command for anyone else to do the same. cont…

Despite the rhapsody with which Muslims sing the qur‘an’s praises, there is an obvious reason why only a minority have actually bothered to delve deeper than an occasional sporadic perusal through its pages. The random arrangement of verses and near absence of context makes it difficult to understand. For this reason the qur’an is rarely printed without the incorporation of voluminous commentary (that usually expresses the personal preferences of the translator).
In fact, the Muslim counterpart to the Bible is the qur’an, hadith and sira combined.
The hadith is a collection of anecdotes and historical snippets of Muhammad’s life based on the relayed narrations of those who lived with him. Unfortunately, authenticity varies. But the most dependable compilers are agreed by Muslims scholars to be Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, followed by Abu Dawud. It is on the hadith that Islamic law (Sharia) is based.
Report Post »The Sira is the biography of Muhammad’s life. Again, there are reliability issues which would appear somewhat bewildering to Christians, given that the gospels were well in place within the first few centuries following the crucifixion – which preceded Muslim history by over 600 years.

Still, the most reliable biography of muhammad was compiled by Ibn Ishaq, who wrote about 150 years after his death. His original work survives only in what was “edited” by a later translator (Ibn Hisham, who admitted that he filtered out several accounts that were of a distasteful nature).
A failure to recognize that the Bible is only comparable to the qur’an, hadith and sira together often leads to faulty accusation and misplaced analysis.
——————————————————————————————————–
muslims often complain of popular “misconceptions” about their religion in the West.
If you look hard, you will find that the most prevalent myths of Islam are the ones held by Muslims and Western apologists. The only glaring exception to this is the misconception that all muslims are alike (they aren’t, of course), but even muslims often believe this as well, as evidenced by the various contrary factions insisting that they are the true muslims, while those who disagree with them are either infidels, hijackers, or hypocrites.
Don’t be fooled! Hear the myths, but know the truth!

Posted on August 19, 2012 at 9:51pm@ HEARTITORLEAVEIT- Let us have a look at what Christians have to say about the King James version Holy Bible.
The King James Version has with good reason been termed “the noblest monument of English prose.“ Its revisers in 1881 expressed admiration for ”its simplicity, its dignity, its power, its happy turns of expression … the music of its cadences, and the felicities of its rhythm.” It entered, as no other book has, into the making of the personal character and the public institutions of the English-speaking peoples. We owe to it an incalculable debt.
Now, prepare for the shocker! Prepare for the shocker!
By the middle of the nineteenth century, the development of Biblical studies and the discovery of many manuscripts more ancient than those upon which the King James Version was based, made it evident that its defects were so many and so serious as to call for revision of the English translation.
This task was undertaken by 32 scholars of the highest eminence. Backed by 50 different denominations of Christian churches.
Trinity was thrown out as a fabrication. In John 3:16 the word begotten was thrown out as a fabrication. In Genesis 1:1 where it says God created the heaven and the earth was changed to God created the heaven(s) and the earth. John 1:1 was thrown out as a fabrication.
This was all done by Christians not Muslims. We Muslims agree with these changes. We believe they do not go far enough.

Posted on August 20, 2012 at 12:36pmLet us have a look at what muslims have to say about the qur’an:
The Qur’an states that it is a perfect book preserved on tablets in heaven (Surah 85:21-22). If the Qur’an is a perfect book from Allah, then there shouldn’t be any contradictions in it. Of course, the Muslims will deny any contradictions exist in the Qur’an, but they do. Some of the contradictions below could be debated, but some of them are clearly contradictions.
A contradiction occurs when one statement on a subject excludes the possibility of another. The first one here is a good example. In Surah 19:67, it states that man was created out of nothing. In 15:26, man is created from clay. Since clay is something, we have a contradiction since “nothing” excludes the possibility of “clay.” Both cannot be true.
All quotes from the Qur’an, unless otherwise specified, are from Yusuf Ali and can be found at the Qur’an online.
-What was man created from, blood, clay, dust, or nothing?
“Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood,” (96:2).

“The similitude of Jesus before Allah is as that of Adam; He created him from dust, then said to him: “Be”. And he was,” (3:59).
“But does not man call to mind that We created him before out of nothing?” (19:67, Yusuf Ali). Also, 52:35).
“He has created man from a sperm-drop; and behold this same (man) becomes an open disputer! (16:4).

The first Muslim was Muhammad? Abraham? Jacob? Moses?
“And I [Muhammad] am commanded to be the first of those who bow to Allah in Islam,” (39:12).
“When Moses came to the place appointed by Us, and his Lord addressed him, He said: “O my Lord! show (Thyself) to me, that I may look upon thee.” Allah said: “By no means canst thou see Me (direct); But look upon the mount; if it abide in its place, then shalt thou see Me.” When his Lord manifested His glory on the Mount, He made it as dust. And Moses fell down in a swoon. When he recovered his senses he said: “Glory be to Thee! to Thee I turn in repentance, and I am the first to believe.” (7:143).
“And this was the legacy that Abraham left to his sons, and so did Jacob; “Oh my sons! Allah hath chosen the Faith for you; then die not except in the Faith of Islam,” (2:132).
Does Allah forgive or not forgive those who worship false gods?

“A major reason for revision of the King James Version, which is valid for both the Old Testament and the New Testament, is the change since 1611 in English usage. Many forms of expression have become archaic, while still generally intelligible—the use of thou, thee, thy, thine and the verb endings -est and -edst, the verb endings -eth and -th, it came to pass that, whosoever, whatsoever, insomuch that, because that, for that, unto, howbeit, peradventure, holden, aforetime, must needs, would fain, behooved, to you-ward, etc. Other words are obsolete and no longer understood by the common reader. We know that you do not accept the Qur’an as the word of God. So, let‘s set the Qur’an aside and concentrate on the Bible. If you agree that God word should not contradict itself, then explain why the Bible does. Explain why Jesus said John the Baptist is Elias and John the Baptist says I AM NOT.
Explain how the Bible says no man can see God and Live, yet the Bible says Moses and seventy others SAW God. Moses spoke to God FACE to FACE. Your silence tells me you have no answer for these discrepancies. Explain to us how Jesus can be God’s ONLY begotten son, yet David was called a begotten son one hundred years before David.
You’ve got some explaining to do! You mentioned that some of the words and phrases that I said were thrown out of the Bible are not thrown out, but are actually in the Bible. True, they have been restored to the Bible, but why? They restored it, not because they got a message from God to put it back. They restored it because, and this is a direct quote from Christians:

Matthew 13:13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
In Luke 19:27 Jesus is telling his followers that if the children of Israel do not follow him, that his followers were to bring them to him and kill them in front of him. He said it as a parable because he didn’t want the non Jew to understand what he was saying.

Scholars say about its “AUTHOR”: “ONE OF THE ‘FIVE BOOKS OF MOSES’.“ Take notice of the words ”five books of Moses” are written in inverted commas- “ ” This a subtle way of admitting that this is what people say- that it is the book of Moses, that Moses was its author, but we (the 32 scholars) who are better informed, do not subscribe to that tittle-tattle.
The next four books “Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy”: AUTHOR? “Generally credited to Moses.” This is the same category as the book of Genesis.

We know that most muslims do not accept the Bible as the word of God. So any interpretations of the Bible by a muslim is invalid and ridiculous.
Tactic #7 Switching topics when challenged:
Switching topics when challenged with contradictions in the quran is a typical technique used by musims. Very often this change involves attacking the Bible. Other times they will testify that they know Islam is true or they will simply say that you do not know what you are talking about. Continuing dialogue at this point us useless and a waste of time.

Posted on August 22, 2012 at 12:11am@ HEARTITORLEAVEIT- You Americans have a saying (if you can’t stand the heat get out of the kitchen). You Christians give up too easily. You and I are both brain-washed about our religions. The difference between you and me is I am willing to be persuaded. I have not run across a Christian yet that could persuade me.
Everything I have given you about the Bible came from people that call themselves Christians. This statement by you:
“I started my whole little string off by telling us what Muslims say about the Qur’an, did offer up information from the qur’an.The qur’an states that it is a perfect book preserved on tablets in heaven (Surah 85:21-22). these are the words of muhammud and I’m pretty sure he is a muslum and most muslims would agree.”
You used the word “Muslims” (plural) and you offered up one Muslim (singular). And you stated “these are the words of Prophet Muhammad. Those are not the words of Prophet Muhammad. The Qur’an is not like the Bible. The Qur’an is THE WORD of GOD revealed to Muhammad. Prophet Muhammad sayings and actions are in a separate book known as the Authentic Hadiths, which you are all too familiar with.
You mentioned that you challenged me and I switched topics. If you recall I challenged you first about those discrepancies in the Bible and to this day you still have not responded to them. I’ll keep checking to see if you do, but I wont (how do you say it (hold my breath).

There is the rationale righ there and its pure moral relativism at its best. Everybody is guilty so why single out anyone. But thats not even the case in todays world. Jihad is being executed worldwide and we sit and are complacent because it seems far away. When their numbers reach even 10% in any one given community then thats when action on their parts begins. They begin to demand certain foods bo stocked locally, they demand prayer time at their work and facilities, they expect the law to obey their Sharia laws, they then begin to place political leaders forward and the rest is history, the takeover complete like in Dearborn, MI. Posted on August 17, 2012 at 3:33pmThe goal of terrorism is to kill and/or create fear. Right? Muslim terrorists commit these acts in the name of their religion. Now, when people are rationally and realistically afraid, suspicious, or simply do not like people of this religion they are made fun of with the term “Islamophobe”. When these acts of terrorism (which happen practically on a daily basis) end, people will gradually get over their fears, etc. By the way, this “fear” is a healthy fear, not an irrational fear as the word “phobia” implies. It is a necessary “wariness” which is needed for survival and the ability to win this War on Terror(ism).

But when it comes to this Islam thing, we’ve never seen nothing like it on our generation, mass killings everyday, shootings of our service personal by the same people we placed trust in (Ft Hood to name just one) and are working with day to day. I’m getting off on a rant now, but I say not one more US serviceman or woman should die in the effort to drag these people into the 21st century. Note: An infidel is anyone who rejects the “Prophet’s“ teaching by not submitting to the ”words of allah” or who criticize or even question any of the teachings of the Koran.
“Kill the unbelievers wherever you find them.” Koran 2:191
“Muslims must not take the infidels as friends.” Koran 3:28
“Maim and crucify the infidels if they criticize Islam” Koran 5:33
“Terrorize and behead those who believe in scriptures other than the Koran.” Koran 8:12
“Muslims must muster all weapons to terrorize the infidels.” Koran 8:60
“The unbelievers are stupid; urge the Muslims to fight them.” Koran 8:65
“When opportunity arises, kill the infidels wherever you catch them.” Koran 9:5
“The Jews and the Christians are perverts; fight them.”… Koran 9:30
“Make war on the infidels living in your neighborhood.” Koran 9:123
“Punish the unbelievers with garments of fire, hooked iron rods, boiling water; melt their skin and bellies.” Koran 22:19
ALL Muslims are ordered to obey the words of the “Prophet” or suffer the consequences. Moderation is not allowed for genuine believers.
