‘It’s Not True’: Kansas Rep. Shoots Down Al Sharpton‘s ’Is it Fair’ Tax Mantra in Fiery Debate (Now with Beck Reaction)

Its Not True: Watch Kansas Rep. Tim Huelskamp Shoot Down Al Sharptons Is it Fair Tax Mantra

MSNBC

Rev. Al Sharpton tried to corner a Kansas congressman on “fair” tax rates during his MSNBC show Wednesday, but Rep. Tim Huelskamp, a Tea Party Republican, wasn’t having it.

“Is it fair that billionaires pay a lower tax rate than their secretaries?” Sharpton asked.

“They actually don’t, according to the IRS,” Huelskamp said. “The effective tax rate of these millionaires and billionaires is more than most secretaries unless they’re exceptionally high paid — 48 percent of all Americans don’t pay any income taxes right now, Reverend Al, and you do know that and the president knows that.”

“Is it fair? Is it fair? One of your candidates for president, Willard Mitt Romney, reported himself that he paid around 14 percent in taxes. The average middle class American — Warren Buffett’s secretary pays 30 percent about. Is that fair?” Sharpton asked.

“Reverend Al, the average American doesn’t pay 30 percent in income taxes,” Huelskamp said.

” — Is it fair??” Sharpton cut in.

“It’s not true, Al,” Huelskamp said.

“Is it fair? Is it fair? Is [sic] those statistics that I reported that they’re saying are true, is it fair?” Sharpton asked.

“It’s not true according to the IRS,” Huelskamp said.

“Oh so you won‘t answer whether it’s fair,” Sharpton said. “You’re trying to argue — on the basis of the report, if the report is inaccurate, fine, you stipulate that. I’m asking you, is it fair? is the arrangement fair?”

The two continued in that vein, with Sharpton making the point that the GOP won’t even “discuss in fairness” while Huelskamp repeatedly shot down the premise of his base argument.

Switching to a different tactic, Sharpton asked how constituents in Huelskamp’s district would feel knowing that Romney, “who makes more a day than they do a year,” pays a lower tax rate.

“Does that concern you as their congressman?” Sharpton asked.

“Most Kansans I talk to aren’t concerned and worried about what the guy down the road makes, they’d like to keep their own job. They’d like to make a living themselves,” Huelskamp said.

” — but they’d also like to be paying a fair rate, wouldn’t you think that, or you think they don’t care?” Sharpton cut in.

“Well there are plenty who’d like to punish others, but that’s not the typical American dream,” Huelskamp said.

“How is that punishing others?” Sharpton interupted. “So let me get this right: For billionaires and millionaires to pay at the same rate as everyone else is a punishment?”

With that, it was back to the previous argument, with Huelskamp repeating that 48 percent of all Americans pay no income taxes and Sharpton continuing to bring up Romney’s tax returns.

“Mr. Romney released this himself, congressman. He’s paying 14 percent…you know people in your district are paying a higher rate and you can‘t even say whteher that’s fair or not. That’s the problem in America,” Sharpton said.

“Fairness in America is not the end result, it’s not the end result, it’s the opportunity. And everybody in America today has the opportunity to get ahead,” Huelskamp said.

“I think you‘re absolutely right and I think the only way we’re going to get ahead is we at least have to agree on fairness,” Sharpton said.

As Sharpton began to close the segment out, Huelskamp let loose with one last question: “What is your income a year, Reverend Al?”

“My income, I’ll tell you my tax rate,” Sharpton spluttered. “My tax rate is the same percentage as the average person in your district.”

“What’s your income?” Huelskamp tried again, to no avail. “What’s your income, Reverend Al? Tell us your income!”

As Glenn Beck pointed out during his radio program Thursday, the majority or what Romney paid were capital gains taxes — trying to compare those to income taxes is essentially comparing apples and oranges. Here’s the tax rate chart Beck referenced.

Additionally, going back to Sharpton’s first point, a Forbes analysis suggests Buffett’s secretary Debbie Bosanek — who was a White House guest at the State of the Union — likely makes between $200,000 and $500,000 a year.

UPDATE:

We should tax the FEDERAL RESERVE PRIVATE BANK 1%.
Then we would never have to pay ANY INCOME TAX !!!!!
WE are victims of the CRIME of the CENTURY !!!!!
Income Tax Started in 1913 due to a Loan to the U.S. from a Private Bank; The Federal Reserve.
It is NO MORE FEDERAL than FEDERAL EXPRESS.
In 1933 we defaulted on that and had to declare bankruptcy.
The Gov‘t gave the Bank all it’s Gold but it wasn’t enough.
The Gov‘t demanded that it’s people give all the gov‘t it’s gold, to give to the Bank. It wasn’t Enough.
The government then had to resort to pledgeing land it‘s gov’t agencies and branches (Including executive, judicial and legislative ) and most importantly, it’s PEOPLE !!!!
      WHAT !!!!!!
      HOW !!!!!
Social Security became law in 1936, these are interest-bearing securities (Social Security)
held by the receivers of the Bankruptcy. (Now the United nation’s IMF)

The 15% tax rate is a CHOICE. If you CHOOSE to invest, you may be elligible for it. If you CHOOSE not to invest, you certainly will not be elligible for it. There are no other qualifications or restrictions. Investing IS risky, and thus the lower rates.

GOP piss me off. Its very fair the rich take a big risk with there investments. Its not the same as income tax. They paid in most cases 30% and above on money made. Then you want them to invest it again with more risk and pay 30% again. We are not stupid people. The GOP in every interviwe need to make the point. That the two taxes are very driffernt. Go in make it 30% and watch what happens. Tell people why its 15% not the 30% they want. Most will get it.

When I was a little child, my mother would pack our school lunches in brown paper bags. Often inside she would place a ziplock bag with M&M’s. Before I left, I would unzip the bag and count each M&M and compare the number with of them with my sibling’s – just to make sure we got exactly the same amount. To my shame I admit I was more concerned about that, than the fact that I was lucky enough to have them at all, or that they were an expression of my mother’s love and care.

My point: myopic obsession with “fairness” is the trait of immature children.

Mr. Sharpton won’t even venture into the TRUTHFULNESS of his questions. He sets up a pretend fantasy and then tries to make fairytale arguments. Obama’s arguments are equally laughable, because they are not grounded in reality.

President Obama, if you wish to argue FAIRNESS in terms of taxation – then I suggest you dismantle the IRS completely, and institute a “fair tax” plan in America, in which EVERY person pays the same percentage.

They are 2 (Two) different taxes. Mitt paid “Capital Gains” tax on his investments and he lived off of that return. He didn’t pay “Income Taxes.“ ”Income“ ”IS“ defined entirely different than ”Capital Gains”, specifically to avoid “Income Taxes”.

That’s an Apples and Oranges comparison. But so typical of the communist left to make an irrational argument.

Why can’t ANYONE explain this? Sharpton was ripe to get wiped off the map in this debate. Even Huelskamp couldn’t articulate the truth. This just drives me nuts. First of all very, very few Secretaries or anyone else for that matter (unless you are in the top 10% of wage earners) pays 30% in income taxes PERIOD. To make it into the 25% tax bracket you have to make AGI of around $217,000 per year. And everyone knows or should know that your net taxable income is far less than that because of either itemized or standard deductions and exemptions. Although I don’t care for Mitt too much, that doesn’t mean that these lies should ever be brought up. Mitt makes his income from invenstment income after paying Capital Gains. That’s the tax law! And at 14-15% I would say that is still more than MOST pay, as a percentage. So, asking if this is fair doesn’t even make sense. This is a typical question from a socialist knuckle dragger. Here is the big problem, other than most of America is illiterate. 50 some percent of those polled think that millionaires and billionairs don’t pay their fair share. Although not a one-to-one comparison, 46% of those don’t pay taxes and I will take it a step further that they have no clue what income tax is other than what is spewed from MSNBC. Is Mitt likely in the top 10% of earners? Likely he is. But, the top 10% of wage earners pay over 70% of the taxes. Now, I ask you is that fair? Is it fair that 46% don’t pay any income

Of course, conservatives rely on FACTS, to make our arguments, not FALSE claims and EMOTIONAL appeals to “fairness.”

There is another reason the tax rate is lower: because investments are the only things that create private sector jobs. If you punish people for making investments, you effectively put millions of “average” Americans out of work. That’s the whole reason for the different rate because the government brings in more revenue when you have millions of Americans working instead of just one. It’s really just math.

Poor Al Sharpton. Even I didn’t have to get a store bought degree to understand what CAPITAL GAINS means. Most people work, pay taxes on their earnings and either spend their earnings or save a little of it for a rainy day. Well, while my friends were going on expensive vacations, eating out 5 nights a week, and seeing every show in town, I put my savings into investments. When those investments made a little money, I paid 15% of those earnings to the IRS as Capital Gains. Got it so far, Al?\
So, in other words, I paid the IRS on my payroll earnings, saved some and paid the IRS on the gains from savings that I already paid income tax on ( are you getting it Al) In other words, you go out there and make money and never save a dime and you don’t have to pay on Capital Gains, because you skrew your money away, and I save mine and pay on the initial earning and pay again on what I make off my savings investments with money I’ve already paid taxes on, instead of squandering it away. (Al, tell me if I’m going too fast for you to keep up, OK?)

Just to let you know Al, it always pizzed me off that you could spend all your income and never save a dime of your own money, and I’m taxed on what I save and what I gain with my own money, and never get the glory of having all those dinners out and fancy vacations and squandering my money like you’ve done. So, to put it simple for you, I’ve paid twice on the same money you throw away with your lifestyle. understand now?

Al, I need to say more, ok? How is that fair that I can‘t have all your fun because I believe in saving for the future instead of letting the gov’t take care of all my needs when I have no money left, like you?

Now, to make it even for all of us, we need a flat tax so we are all paying the same thing. Do away with all the exemptions that you use to get more deductions to lower your personal income tax. Why do the rest of us have to pay for your deduction on the interest you pay to buy a home?
Save your dam money and pay cash for a house, but no, you’d lose your deductions, right Al?

Then have a multitude of kids so you can earn more exemptions., pretty soon, you’re paying less taxes than the rest of us who probably make 1/2 of the payroll you do. Then, look for all shady, but considered legal, deductions to take off the rest of your income tax All these years, I’ve probably paid a bucket load more than you have Al, because to me what didn’t seem right, really wasn’t in the long run. Like my grandpa refused to take money to quit growing certain crops. Seemed wrong and I agree, it is wrong.
So Al, do you understand now who pays 15% on Capital Gains income? Buffett’s secretary made a bundle of money and paid her fair share (less all her deductions) because Warren paid only on Capital Gains for his own money, not payroll money. Understand it now, Al?

What churches? He and Jesse Jackson are self-proclaimed ordained preachers. They have NEVER been pastors. Imagine that. Try mail order. You look at our Southern cities. Why is it that most African American preachers have a PHD, THD, or MD, behind their names? Mail order.

The “Rev” Jackson and the “Rev” Sharpton are two of the most rascist, devisive, mean spirited “preachers” I have ever met. They are part of the reason that Christianity get’s a bad rap. Show us the love……Jesse and Al. MLK Jr would have been displeased with your hateful rhetoric!

He owes millions in taxes and also stands behind his church to hide more millions. Who is this pompous ass to complain about anyone. Nobody ever calls him out for being the ultimate racist. Did he ever apologise for the Tawana Brawley incident. No, he was out to accuse white people for something that never happened. With the Duke incident, he did the same thing. Whenever there is a white vs black incident he always jumps to conclusions before the facts are totally out. After he is proven wrong he never apologises for destroying peoples lives. Even when he is sued and he loses he refuses to pay up. He is the ultimate dirt bag and all the media is gutless not to go after him This includes O’Reilly and Hannity whom I like. I just wish someone would have the guts to stand up to this blow hard.

Buffoon? That is being kind. “Rev.” Al, has no idea of the rate of capital gains versus income tax, and unfortunately the hapless guest is so uninformed himself, he can‘t articulate the obvious retort to the brain dead Sharpton’s stance. An amazing display from both individuals in the total lack of understanding of the insane tax code. Both get an F.
However, the key is that Sharpton has to be, with the possible exception of Chris Matthews, the dumbest talk show host on the face of the planet. Only MSLSD is so low as to broadcast this total moron. They must have scouted a lot of Republicans to find one so singularly unable to answer “you are comparing income tax rates with capital gains tax rates so your question is irrelevant”.

One of my dearest friends is black and HE SAYS THAT BLACK, ESPECIALLY THOSE IN POVERTY, will not get off their butts and work as long as they don’t have to. He put himself thru college and worked as an aide so he would not have to take money from the taxpayer. IT IS ALL IN HOW YOU ARE RAISED AND WHAT YOU ARE TAUGHT. Those who were raised with a welfare Mom, probably are on welfare now….not all, but most. I had someone tell me once that they get paid more on welfare than if they went to work because of the minimum wage. That someone drives an Escalade, goes out to eat several times a week, and has a 52″ flat screen (3D)….probably all on credit, but I do know he gets so many benefits, it is pathetic. Why should he work? With that kind of mentality, it is no wonder this country is bankrupt. I would like to see welfare shut down for ALL PERSON WHO ARE IN GOOD HEALTH AND CAN WORK. Those who are not healthy or who cannot work, should have help. If you have good health and can work and you are getting those benefits, you SHOULD BE ARRESTED AND GIVEN AN ULTIMATUM…work or go to jail. Helping you find work, should be the only benefit he or she gets.

The Rich Pay the same tax rate as the rest of us and that 15% tax rate you keep biotching about is ONLY ON CAPITAL GAINS. Do you even know what that is? It is OVER AND ABOVE the INCOME TAX. It is money earned on investments made which is ON TOP OF the actual earned income tax of over 25.8% on the original money they used to invest. Most “educated” people know this and they know MOST rich people donate to charities… like yours. Keep ‘em stupid Al, keep ‘em all in slavery of ignorance… you are so good at being the opposite of what you claim. Rev. Al has no idea what the difference here is between “investment” and “income” taxes are. Romney and Buffett and pay much higher than everyone else. Especially those who pay ZERO percent. The IRS is unconstitutional anyway; therefore, I don’t believe in anybody paying taxes to the federal government unless it is for one of the 18 enumerated powers, or else a newly and properly amended federal power. Regardless, income tax and capital gains are two different things, besides who the heck in the right mind would want or think that it’s “fair,” to use the Rev.’s words, that capital gains should be higher than than income taxes. How much less investment will there be because of such? FAR FAR LESS! It was funny when he said really quick-like, “we can get into an argument over payroll taxes and stuff, but what I want to know, is it fair? I would have taken that as an invite to argue about gthe two totally different forms of taxes: I would have said, “Okay, you said that we could argue about payroll taxes and stuff, so let’s talk about those.” He would have been like, Uh, well, that’s not what I meant…I want to talk about fairness. No, you just said that we could argue about payroll taxes and stuff, so let’s talk about payroll taxes and stuff, Al. Are you going back on your word?
Of course it wouldn’t be fair if millionaires were paying less in the “same kind” of taxes. But were not talking about the same taxes here, one’s investment of capital, the other’s

They don’t want the average joe schmo to realise that there are several different forms of taxes in a rather overcomplicated web of senseless garbage. The Dems make itr sound like every tax payed to the fed. gubmint is the same as one another and there aren’t any differences between capital investment taxes and income or payroll taxes. Here is how much Al owes: Sharpton drew a $241,732 salary and perks that included first-class or charter air travel, tax filings show. He owes the IRS $2.6 million in income tax, and nearly $900,000 in state tax.

So that’s a cool $3.5 million he owes us. Well, why not advocate higher taxes if you’re not going to pay them anyway? As Leona Helmsley said, taxes are for little people. But the worst is yet to come:

And it is close to finished repaying the Peabody Hotel in Memphis $106,981 owed since 2008, when NAN skipped out on its bill after its annual convention, according to its 2010 audited financial statements.

He stiffed the Peabody Hotel? Those ducks aren’t going to feed themselves. Be kind to our web-footed friends. Somebody call PETA.

For Sharpton to begin to comprehend Romney’s tax return, he would have to know there are tax rates and there are real tax rates. There is the headline rate that everyone pays, and then there is the effective tax rate which is the true tax on your income. But that is probably asking too much of Rev. Al.

Also, he would have to understand that because American tax rates are progressive, you don’t pay the same amount of tax on each dollar of income. As you get into higher income brackets, you pay higher tax on each dollar earned. This is called an increase in tax on every marginal dollar. It wouldn’t surprise me if Mike Bloomberg, John Kerry, or Warren Buffet paid less than or equal to Romney when it came to effective tax rates.

Here is some simple math to explain it in plain English to Rev. Al: Suppose one makes $20,000 in a year and is taxed under the a progressive system. If you make 10,000/yr, you pay 10%. Make 20,000/yr, pay 25%. This person pays $1000 (10%) of the first $10,000 and 2500 (25%) of the second $10,000. The total tax liability is $3500, which when divided by the $20,000 of income and multiplied 100, is found to have an effective tax rate of 17.5%.

Why isn’t Rev. Al asking the good people at the boards of education if it’s “fair” that a majority of the kids in school probably don’t understand basic mathematics? Who knows, maybe he’ll get around to doing that after he pays his back taxes. Miracle do happen.

And THAT is one of conservatives’ biggest beefs w/liberals — when your side has no facts, it attacks the person instead.

Fair is when all pay the same rate on earned income.

Coveting another’s prosperity will not make you prosperous, only sick in your soul. It will destroy you and those around you.

You want to make it in America? Get a solid education in something useful, work hard even more than 40 hrs a week, be willing to relocate to where the jobs are. Mostly, be satisfied when you have enough. Do not think you MUST have what your neighbor has. Do not let your “wants” lead you away from your real “needs.”

Keep drinking your kool-ade and believing everything that the DNC throws your way. What is completely lost on people like you is that while someone might be paying 15% on their income from capital gains, you oh-so-conveniently ignore is that they put their own capital at risk and many times have capital losses. Just so you know what a capital loss is, it is defined as decrease in value that occurs when a capital asset is sold for less than its original purchase price. Capital assets come in many forms, the most popular being stock, bonds, property, and mutual funds. Comparing the original price paid (less commissions) to the sale price (plus any commissions) will determine whether or not you have incurred a loss on the sale.

If someone experience a loss, and the loss results from the sale of a capital asset that was held for less than one year, then the loss is referred to as a short- term capital loss. If the asset was held for more than one year, then the loss is referred to as a long- term capital loss.

The I.R.S. has limits on how much you can write off. You are restricted to a maximum write- off amount of $3,000, or $1,500 (the net total of gains and losses for the year) if you are married and file separately. So if you have a loss in a single year of $100,000, it will take you 34 years to recoup the loss in tax reductions.

So if a person is risking their own capital, I think it is completely fair to pay a lower rate on any gains that may occur.

“Have you stopped beating your wife?”

That is what Al’s question amounts to. The answer isn’t yes or no, because it presumes you beat your wife in the past. So to say that the average American pays 30% is stupid and to say “yes it’s fair” would be agreeing this basis to be true.

It’s YOU, you dildonic leftanista fool, who is clueless. Your posts are so patently WRONG on so many levels. it is futile to take them apart piece by piece. Of on ething, though, I am sure. There’s less than a 1% chance that you will EVER pay taxes on any capital gains income..and for several reasons. First, you have to have capital to invest into something (and given that you are likely unemployed and on the government teet or maybe you have a menial job that pays you menial wages) that might grow and be productive. Unlikely that you can relate to any of that. Secondly, if you ever do have the ability to “invest capital”, my guess is that you would probably invest in some BS green technmology that will result in a tax break for you. Good news, huh? When the last teetering leg of “green energy” comes crashing down, you DO get to deduct your capital losses against your other income…ooo…that COULD be a problem I suppose. In the meantime, BOY, why don;t you just go occupy something?

I’d like to see the SOURCES of Big Al’s income too. How much of it comes through some govt program or community organized scam? I have no problem with privatebusiness paying whatever they decide to because I can skip doing business with them. However, I’m EXTORTED by the govt at the point of a gun to pay these taxes and for things I have no say over. Just look at how the budget is wasted. Is there anybody that can really say with a straight face that we couldn’t cut that budget substantially BEFORE we raise taxes?

No, Big Bad Al and Barry and the Bandits are pumping up the deficit to force up taxes as a method of redistribution. Of course, when the tax burden gets high enough, the productive will simply cease any extra effort. Then we’ll be looking at burger-flippers and people that can’t count change to run an advanced economy. Good luck there!

100% agree. We left brittain because of what is going on now. We pay taxes, uncle sam spends it on windmills and solar panels and section 8 trash that live on our dime, and we have little to know say on how our money is spent. And the travesty of it all is that there are so few people in politics that believe that through hard work and diligence, a person can make a life for themselves. The only thing I hear from politicians is how they are going to help me… What they are goin to do for me if I elect them. I don’t want you to do a damn thing for me!!! The last thing I need is somene helping me that expects something in return. They are just like those “friends” you have that don’t mind helping you out once. Then every time they need something you’re the one that gets called. I’m so tired of the trash that gets elected in this country… Pray… Pray for more time

They will try to debate Oranges and Apples and then triangulate to this is Racist….. Sharpton owes the federal gov’t and states millions, while making millions from his Reparations Entitlement businesses (MSNBC) He will avoid paying by calling out racism and by picking up the phone and calling Jerimiah Wright and Jesse tax evader Jackson.

I’d like the tax code to be fair also.

For starters, I’d like EVERYONE in the USA to pay at least a base of 10% – even people earning $5,000 a year. All the liberal/progressive politicians and media harp on whether the rich pay a fair tax – how about asking the people who actually pay the taxes in this country how pissed off they are about the huge percentage of citizens who pay ZERO income tax every year. Seriously, how fair is it, Reverend Al, for the people who get virtually 100% of the social budget in the US to pay no income tax?

So until they start taxing the welfare Moms and drug addled chronically unemployed, et al., they can take this “fairness” argument and cram it.

By the way, apparently the word and/or term “fair” or fairness” must have tested well with focus groups because now there isn’t a publicly speaking liberal who goes 2 minutes without mentioning it…just another code word for Socialism or Communism.

      Glenn’s Show is MSNBC like.

The Facts are Glenn has been smearing Newt Gingrich for two months now. He hurt his back and called the show from bed to smear Gingrich.

I changed my name to MS-glenNBC because of the similarity to the way MSNBC goes after people.
I came up with a game called 6 degrees of Newt Gingrich by Glenn Beck.

You start by saying “Glenn Beck would Say” ( ) then you finish by saying “ The Truth has no Agenda”. It is a fun game and you can play at home.

My favorite was an interview on Jan 5th where he was interviewing Andy Andrews about his book how to Kill 11 million people. and Glenn was able to say that Newt Gingrich was just as dangerous as the Nazi’s.. here is the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGFxEupRK0E

Right now Glenn is talking about Agenda 21….. You know.. some how Newt Gingrich’s name will come up in this story and be attached to it. MSNBC Type SMEAR i.e. MS-glenNBC

Ann Coulter was on yesterday… not because Glenn Likes her, or he respects Chris Christie and Anns fondness for Chris but because she has been critical of Gingrich.

When I heard this sharpton interview it reminded me of Glenn Pat and Stu attacking Ron Paul and Gingrich supporters.

By the Way…. For someone who is for Santorum… he surely spends a lot of time NOT talking about him. When he has Santorum on….he engages in Gingrich Bashing with Rick.

Glenn spent a 15 minute segment yesterday supporting Romney

Al is using typical Alinsky Marxist tactics. He is a liar! Is Al paying his fair share?!? Nope.

Sharpton drew a $241,732 salary and perks that included first-class or charter air travel, tax filings show.

Bonus fact: Sharpton’s for-profit company is called Bo-Spanky Consulting, Inc. Which sounds totally legit and not a shake-down operation at all.

This is total misrepresentation on the part of Sharpton. He uses top tax rates to compare to effective tax rates. Further, ALL taxpayers can get the 15% tax rate if they put their capital (money) AT RISK, i.e. you can lose your capital investment ($3k can be written off in 1 year). The investment rules were enacted to encourage investment (risk taking) and capital formation. Buffet’s secretary, if she invests, gets the 15% tax rate on the portion of her income she gets from investment. If one is able to be a successful investor, it is entirely possible to live entirely on investments. Also, if I remember correctly, people will have to pay more taxes on investment income because it is in Obamacare.
The 15% rate IS available to ALL taxpayers.

Thank you!!! I wish the congressman would have made this same point. We have several different taxes that we deal with on a daily basis but when people like Sharpton want to make ratings they seem to lump all taxes into one category and forget to add the rest. Their cherry picking of what facts (if they even use any) to use is ridiculous. %15 is a capital gains tax and like you said everyone has the ability to take advantage of this. Al seems to forget that this is a tax on $ that has probably already been taxed once before. This is nothing but a tool for the Dems and the current admin to stoke the fires of envy to their masses.

Since he puts that REV in front of his name, and since I never see him in a church, is the REV so he doesn’t have to pay the IRS as much? Seems to me seeing Sharpton’s tax returns might shed some light on this conversation.

Sharpton isn’t ready for a debate on that intellectual level. He’s not a bright man. He’s a bumbling boob that has made his living on race baiting. We should learn a lesson from Huelskamp…”DON’T LET THE LEFT SET THE DEBATE”. “Fariness” is their latest strategy to try one of two things..to make conservatives look cold-hearted or to draw them out as hypocrites. Neither of course is the reality but leftists don’t deal with reality..as Huelskamp just highlighted, they deal in talking points, groupthink and ethereal, nebulous ideals outside this plane of reality. By the way…let‘s see Buffett’s secretary’s tax returns. I dare say she‘s earning a very handsome salary and it’s being reported she bought a second home. It’s also important for idiots like Sharpton to be schooled on the difference between taxed salary and taxed capital gains. For example..during the 2008 campaign Obama pushed “fair” again for raising capital gains taxes. When told that in fact LOWER cap gains taxes create MORE government revenue..he had no answer..just like Sharpton all he could say was “it’s not fair”. GW Bush lowered cap gains taxes and government revenue from them RAISED over 100%. Obama like Sharpton just kept repeating “it’s not fair”. What’s not fair about more investment activity and higher government revenue from that activity due to lower cap gains taxes? Any lefty want to answer that for me here? Anyone? Beuller?
