It’s Official: Michael Moore Admits He is Part of the ‘1%’

Occupy Wall Street Supporter Michael Moore Admits He Made Millions of Dollars and is Part of the 1&In a recent interview with CNN’s Piers Morgan, left-wing documentary filmmaker and Occupy Wall Street supporter Michael Moore vehemently denied being part of the “1%.” The assertion was beyond belief, however, given his documentaries’ wild success. Now, Moore has admitted to being part of the 1% in a self-penned blog-post titled “Life Among the 1%.”

MSNBC reports:

Now the director of “Capitalism: A Love Story” and other documentaries has come clean and admitted that he is indeed among the nation’s wealthiest citizens, but without providing details of just how rich he is.

In a post titled “Life Among the 1%” on his blog “Open Mike,” Moore recalls how he made his first millions when he sold the distribution rights to his 1989 breakthrough hit “Roger & Me.”

At the time of his $3 million windfall, Moore says he was just getting by on unemployment payments of $98 a week.

Below is a breakdown of how Moore claimed he spent his then-new-found fortune:

So I made some easy decisions back in 1989:

1. I would first pay all my taxes. I told the guy who did my 1040 not to declare any deductions other than the mortgage and to pay the full federal, state and city tax rate. I proudly contributed nearly 1 million dollars for the privilege of being a citizen of this great country.

2. Of the remaining $2 million, I decided to divide it up the way I once heard the folksinger/activist Harry Chapin tell me how he lived: “One for me, one for the other guy.” So I took half the money — $1 million — and established a foundation to give it all away.

3. The remaining million went like this: I paid off all my debts, paid off the debts of some friends and family members, bought my parents a new refrigerator, set up college funds for our nieces and nephews, helped rebuild a black church that had been burned down in Flint, gave out a thousand turkeys at Thanksgiving, bought filmmaking equipment to send to the Vietnamese (my own personal reparations for a country we had ravaged), annually bought 10,000 toys to give to Toys for Tots at Christmas, got myself a new American-made Honda, and took out a mortgage on an apartment above a Baby Gap in New York City.

4. What remained went into a simple, low-interest savings account. I made the decision that I would never buy a share of stock (I didn’t understand the casino known as the New York Stock Exchange and I did not believe in investing in a system I did not agree with).

But, as Newsbusters‘ Noel Sheppard points out

After all, in 2005, Peter Schweizer in his book “Do As I Say (Not As I Do): Profiles in Liberal Hypocrisy” included a copy of Moore’s schedule D from one of his tax filings showing that the schlockumentarian at one point owned almost 2,000 shares of Boeing, nearly 1,000 shares of Sonoco, more than 4,000 shares of Best Foods, more than 3,000 shares of Eli Lilly, more than 8,000 shares of Bank One, and more than 2,000 shares of Halliburton.

Yes. Halliburton.

Meanwhile, a look at The Blaze’s earlier report on October 13, reveals that Moore actually has a net worth of a staggering $50 million.

To refresh, below is the clip and partial transcript of Moore denying he is part of the 1%. Note just how many times Moore says: “No, I am not.”

Morgan: You’re in the one percent, right?

Moore: I’m not in the one percent, no. But I am–

Morgan: Probably .2 percent?

Moore: No, I am not.

Morgan: You’re one of the most successful film makers in the country.

Moore: No, I am not. For a documnetary film maker, I do very well.

Morgan: I need you to admit the bleeding obvious. I need you to sit here and say, ‘I’m in the one percent.’

Moore: Well I can’t, because I’m not.

Morgan: You are though.

Moore: No, I’m not.

Morgan: You’re not in the one percent?

Moore: Of course I’m not! How can I be in the one percent?

Morgan: Because you’re worth millions.

How, indeed.

    He‘s not in the one percent because to him and the other communist propagandists it’s just a tagline to identify the way of life they want to destroy. It‘s just a tool they use to try to marginalize people who don’t agree with them by trying to make them sound small and insignificant.

    The truth of the matter is that the vast majority of the wealthiest people in the country are hardcore liberals. It’s a relatively small number of seriously wealthy people that actually worked for it and built businesses. Most business owners don’t make very much money at all. The lions share of the ultra rich come from the entertainment industry. Actors, athletes and musicians represent an overwhelming majority of the wealthiest people in the country. All segments of society that tend to be overwhelmingly populated with flaming liberals, many of which are strident socialists or communists.

      All the one’s that have been supporting the “unwashed” are all 1%

      Michael Moore sounds so charitable, but percentage wise he doesn’t give nearly as much
      as we do. I bet he doesn’t do that much charity now either. That was in the
      beginning.

      I would not begrudge them a dime, if they would just shut the he77 up.

      As far as Charity most of this group go to Africa and Adopt a baby and bring
      it back and use it like an accesory, That is their charity……

Can we get a copy of his schedule D to see these stock holdings in the evil corporations? If so this is the smoking gun you share with the FLEAs. You cant argue or debate with them since the majority exist in a completely different plane of reality but show them stuff like this and have them turn on ppl like Moore is pure entertainment. Look we cant reason with them so we might as well have them eat their own!

      I love the sign showing Halliburton highlighted. Normally we associate the evil (and he probably is) Dick Cheney with it. Why do the same dorks that associate Cheney with it, not point out that George Soros bought huge stock in Halliburton, you know, Deepwater Horizon Oil Rig that went boom, just prior to the huge gulf spill? NALCO the maker of the dispersant Corexit that was used in the Gulf spill, yep, you guessed it, was for the greatest part funded by (drums roll) George Soros, Warren Buffet, Goldman Sachs, Maurice Strong, Al Gore, Blackstone (you know, back when Obama was their friend and frequent house guest), Hathaway Berkshire, and the APOLLO Alliance (writer of the +700 billion stimulus and funded in large part by George Soros). Isn’t it amazing that NALCO is tied to Brazil (Petrobras), Indonesia (nope, no connection to Obama there…..right!), Russia (remember Obama’s love affair with them regarding working together on nuclear ideas), India, and China (the last 2 are interconnected but by this point it’s redundant). NALCO is also tied to The University of Chicago’s Argonne Program, that somehow received 164 million in direct stimulus funds.

      Hey protesters? You want to go after the culprits who are responsible for the inequity of money. There’s the places to start. They regulate the entire thing, not corporate America (well those not named BofA, Goldman, GM, GE that is).

      But no one will ever accuse anarchists for having a brain.

There is NO WAY he could have done all of that nor WOULD he.. what you think that after being on unemployment, he would just spend it all without buying ANYTHING for himself.. PU LU EASE!
