It’s Official: Tea Party License Plates Coming to AZ

Its Official: Tea Party License Plates Coming to AZPHOENIX (AP) — Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer has signed three bills for 11 new special license plates, including one to commemorate the tea party.

She acted on the license plate bills late Thursday.

The tea party plate would feature the “Don’t Tread On Me” slogan, rattlesnake emblem and yellow background of the historic Gadsden Flag that is a symbol of the movement.

The Legislature completed action April 26 on the bill authorizing the tea party plate.

In the run-up to approval, opponents said the tag inappropriately promotes a specific political movement. Supporters said it’s meant to stand up for constitutional principles.

Supporters now must raise $32,000 to design and produce the plate.

I wouldn’t put it on my car because I am afraid that if my wife was driving with my son the liberal goons might confront her and do some damage.

True – these goons could be employed by La Raza, the Black Panthers, Rep Grijalva, Nappy or Eric Holder or Obama – none are to be trusted but I carry a gun!

Yeah, I was happy when I first read it but then I thought maybe not a great idea – especially there. I‘d probably do it here since I’m in good ‘ol independent Texas – near the “Alamo City” in addition. But agree with those that warn about the lefties vandallizing, etc. Unfortunately, it’s not like the past. The left is getting bolder & I think encouraged by seeing all the other violence going on around the country – no doubt they will do something “not good” to those that have these. Yes, it’s a bad sign that we are getting fearful of wearing something or displaying something that is “Conservative”. Fear is growing ….along with anger on both sides.

I’m here in AZ. This is a great state. Before Gov Brewer got into office she was kinda a joke. People said she would be the worst govenor this state has ever seen. Please remember we’ve had several govenors already impeached. She has brought attention to this state. Some see it as good and bad. She is setting this state up to be one of the great states. Good job Govenor Brewer, make us all proud. For those of you who hate AZ we get it. Don‘t move here and hope our way doesnt spead towards you’re way.

I’ve always said that there were more people that held my conservative beliefs than those who didn’t. Ya know, this may be the serious, strong individualist side of me, but in a country that had that kind of an outlook, I would have to simply NOT get one. I belong in this country not because of what license plate I have. I belong here because my parents, my grandparents, and my great grandparents fought like hell to build something here, and I wish to follow in their footseps. I belong here because I swore an oath to defend the Constitution, even when it means defending those I despise. In short, I belong here because I love my Country with every fibre of my being, and will give my life to see it safe.
If I choose not to get a license plate, well then that’s my choice. BTW, for those that might worry about the safety of their vehicle, I think it’s a legitimate concern. I have a nice Don’t Tread on me bumper sticker on the trunk of my car, and I live in Seattle, and haven’t had any issues so far, but the Libs here are a little more meek than the really scary ones in places like Arizona.

This is the best news of the week, even eclipsing the Arizona state revolver issue, which was (finally) resolved in favor of the Army Colt 45 peacemaker, the gun that tamed the rugged Arizona wilderness.

These Gadston-themed metallic license plates are attractive, manly-looking and sturdy enough to withstand years of hard use in the outdoorsy conditions associated with Arizona even today, and will be fully recognized as legal in all 49 other States, without additional paperwork. Huzza!
