‘I’ve Read It on the Obama Website:’ Pro-Obamacare Protester Has Hard Time Defending Her Position

“Is The Affordable Care Act Constitutional?”
Who better to ask than the thousands of protesters who gathered to defend their sides of the healthcare debate on the steps of the Supreme Court. We ventured out Tuesday afternoon to see how people were reacting.
All walks showed up. Many heated exchanges ensued. The basic fact remains: The issue of healthcare in America is a personal one, really personal.
Case in point: there was one protester who was adamant that being anti-Obamacare was synonymous with being anti-women. Oddly enough, we noticed her because she was yelling at a Tea Party woman in a motorized wheelchair.* She had a sign reading “Women are not a preexisting condition.” According to her, there are studies that say “women are often charged up to 50 percent more” for the same procedure. When asked what study, she had a hard time explaining.
“I, I’ve read various studies. I can’t point to one right now,” she responded. She had an equally tough time when asked who produced it: “I mean, I’ve read it on the Obama website.”
And would a study on the Obama website have a political agenda?
“Perhaps there is, but I think that it’s difficult for him to be publishing facts that are wrong.”
So if you cant defend the study where did you get the sign?
“I picked it up from down there.”
See for yourself:
However, there were plenty of protesters who carried homemade signs and were not there to scream at the opposition. The majority of people we found in front of the Court were Tea Party members. Still, there were a fair share of colorful people in this cohort (we’ve also included the protester aboveĀ in the video):
By the way, we visited the Obama website and couldn’t find the study.
*To be fair, we’re not sure exactly what set the woman off. However, we did over hear someone say “you’re not representing women well.”

Posted on March 28, 2012 at 10:24amHealth care is a business, not a right. It is no different than the auto mechanic down the street. PERIOD.Get the government out of health care along with the ambulance chasing lawyers, and health care could be very affordable.

Posted on March 28, 2012 at 10:32amBetter, privately-managed oversight of the costs is also needed. $100 for a box of tissues is not uncommon. The language and coding used to get the insurance companies (mostly Medicare) is unreal. Of course, the progs want the greed and theft in the healthcare system to continue as it advances their goal of collapsing the entire system.

Doctors, although some are reprehensible, can’t afford the insurance to practice medicine because of all the nut jobs out there just looking for an unearned pay day. TORT REFORM NOW!

Report Post »My brother explained after having to testify for one his coleagues that was sued after allowing a woman to go home from the ER with pain meds, due to a migraine – which she’d had in the past, who later suffered a stroke leaving her paralyzed. She had 2 10-12yo children and and is incapacitaced to a wheelchair now. The doc’s rationalize a $6-8k CTscan away as it’ll be massivly expensive even for soemone with insurance. So all this BS about predeterming what tests will be allowed by O-care in order to reduce costs, is bogus as long as the hospitals/docs are still liable for malpractice resulting from something that is transpiring within our own bodies and they are somehow at fault for not finding it in the economic fashion.
If they want to revise healthcare -/insurance actually they need to bring real docs in – not the AMA which is a total sham.

Posted on March 28, 2012 at 11:04amI am one that is uninsured by choice, my family plan was $7500.00 per year in 2008 once “I” dropped the health care coverage I found that any medical expenses are affordable without insurance and in fact cheaper. Obamacare with the mandate will increase my medical expenses per year 5 fold without the extra services and when forced to buy into an insurance plan will increase my medical expenses 50 fold without the extra services, that is unfair to me for there is no opt out provision and paying my own way will be illegal.
Report Post »A simple loser pays tort reform will end much of the frivalous lawsuits.
A problem; if the mandate is struck down but the rest of the bill remains that will be the death of private insurance and we will quickly decend into the depths of single payer and high taxes with no way out, I believe this was the intent all along the mandate was just used to get the insurance companys to play along and was meant to be unconstitutional and struck down just to force the country into single payer by default.

Report Post »Texas took on tort reform over a year ago. I nearly cried when the Republican state lawmakers passed it. I knew what was coming! Sure enough! Doctors and medical professionals are pouring into Texas passing trial lawyers on the way out! Naturally a bunch of new jobs in construction and professional healthcare related industries, etc……. Well’ you get the picture.
Why the tears, you ask? Being born and raised in Texas I love the wide open spaces here. Much of that wide open space is being taken up by those interlopers with all their money and jobs and all!

I think often people repeat things without really thinking them thru. It’s part of the brainwashing of the current admin (as well as past admins). Our country has somewhat lost the art of thinking for ourselves (part of the agenda of our current educational system). I almost think people need to be given some good coffee and encouraged to think things thru and not just accept everything they read or hear (especially on a political web site! Yikes!).

Posted on March 28, 2012 at 10:15amI guess the reporter could not find the groups that were going to have a pro Obama Care prayer group to ask the Almighty to bless redistributionism. I heard part of the oral arguments yesterday and it seems like the SCOTUS is pondering a justification of the purchase mandate or fine or tax based on the reasoning that the mandate would diminish the need for redistribution. So… the government is saying redistribution is bad? Maybe they meant capitalistic redistribution? Anyway, the government created the redistribution by demanding universal emergency care along with mandates already in place to force insurance companies to keep children on policies well beyond childhood. Obama Care is a perpetual motion machine that creates a problem and then solves it by recreating the problem.

Posted on March 28, 2012 at 10:19amthe medical profession focuses more on women than men. Men typically do not run to the doctor every time something happens, as such the medical field focused their advertising towards woman. Everyone thinks O-care is about choice, what is really about is being forced once again to financialy support the Insurance Companies. Health Care should be affordable , but due to the lawyers who made a huge payday over the years Insurance Companies charged more and that cost went to us the patients. Simple case of corperate greed, nothing more nothing less.
