Jackpot Winner Admits: I’m a Glenn Beck Fan

“You gonna bleep this out?”
That’s how Jim McCullar started out his story of how exactly he went about winning the Mega Millions $190 million jackpot. But what needed to be “bleeped out” wasn’t a swear word, it was the name of Glenn Beck.
As Stu pointed out on the blog, McCullar, from Spokane, Ephrata,WA, likes watching the Glenn Beck show on Fox News Channel, and does so “a lot.” While telling his winning story, he explained how, on the night he found out he had the winning ticket, he briefly watched Beck’s show:
McCullar has an incredible story. Multiple heart attacks have led doctors to pronounce him dead three times. KXLY has more:
Jim McCullar, a retired Boeing Co. worker, bought his ticket at a supermarket in Ephrata in eastern Washington, about 125 miles from Post Falls, Idaho, a suburb of Spokane, Wash., where the other ticket was sold.
The winners had to match five numbers plus the “Mega ball.” The numbers were 4, 8, 15, 25 and 47, and 42 as the Mega ball.
The McCullars have played some combination of those numbers for years because they‘re based on the couple’s birthdays. It has worked before: Jim McCullar said he won about $18,000 several years ago playing similar numbers on a keno game in Oregon. [...]
Jim McCullar said he had rough plans to give some donations to charities, though he declined to name which ones. He has already given his notice at the real estate company where he was working.

Posted on January 7, 2011 at 12:10pmWell this couple was on all the news stations this morning…so I guess you could say the same to all the stations they must of thought it was newsworthy. You are just upset because this couple like Glenn Beck and what amazes me is I am sure you are a liberal, you guys say we all have the right to what we believe except christ and the flag and we all have to the right to say what we believe and want to say but when we do you guys critize, so which is it we have the right or we have the right to what you believe is right?

The lottery winners “is” a news story, that’s why it was all over the news. But them being Beck fans is not newsworthy in the least. I could care less about who they are “fans” of. That’s the point. When was the last time you heard a story of a lottery winner followed by who they like? Stupid. But that’s par for the course here.

I pray for protection and safety for the McCullar family, and that they keep their eyes on Jesus. Money can be a blessing or a curse. It is awesome that he is a Beck fan, he must be wise!! I am glad the money went to a deserving family!

Go Glenn. I have his name on the front windshield of my vehicle in reverse like AMBULANCE does so that those speeding and/or passing me can see it. I get lot’s of looks. Keep up the good job Glenn. As he says, you check it out yourself and don’t take his word. I agree on that and still believe he is right.

WOW! Your brave putting anything on your vehicle that identifies you as conservative, let alone a Beck fan. A lib can drive around with all manners of stickers on their Subaru Outback, ranging from the usual Obama (Formerly Kerry/Edwards stickers), or the ubiqudus “Co-Exist” sticker, to the most extreme and often vile stickers. Yet they have little fear that anyone will do anything to their Lib Mobile!
Meanwhile anyone with any markings on their vehicle that identifies them as conservative, will likely and eventually discover that their monthly insurance payments are going to jump when they turn in the
claim for paint repairs after being keyed or having slashed tires.
Funny thing is, the media jumps right on it in the local papers when a Lib Mobile occasionally gets a magic marker treatment to their stickers, but you almost never see a story on the much more frequent incidents of vehicles that get keyed. So much for those “Tolerant”, “Free Speech”,”Co-Existing” types, that like doing a lot more damage to others vehicles that display alternate view points, than simply using a magic marker on a sticker!
I would consider displaying my views with an inexpencive used vehicle, but not my Jeep Commander that is only half paid off.
Glad that some like you are willing to make their statements though! Makes my drives a little more interesting!

You sound like a very negative person, who is either JEALOUS or stupid enough to let the whole world know your shallow viewpoint. Wow. I would expect your comment from Media Matters, but not here. Why do you bother to post on a conservative site when it is clear, you are not conservative? I hope he buys a LOT of gold coins and I hope he prepares for the future fiasco the rest of us have to endure because of YOUR SOCIALIST PRESIDENT. Please go away. This is a great blog (comments) site and should not be used by non-conservatives. But, now I know your ID and won’t have to respond anymore. I HOPE EVERYONE ELSE IGNORES YOU, AS WELL. JUST GO AWAY, OR TALK YOURSELF TO DEATH. WE encourage one another here. We care about Americans here and we are happy for this man. It is clear, you are jealous or hateful. Gee, isn’t that HATE SPEECH FOR YOU? I really hope you get your act together and stop being negative. It will only hurt your inner peace and no one else. A GREAT thing about The Blaze and FoxNews, they will not delete your comments, like Media Matters did mine when I disagreed kindly with them. They refused to post my views. It was then I began to see the left for who they really were – CONTROLLERS, Socialists, and for the most part, 1-sided. Such a shame, as the Left only tries to divide America, not get along and compromise or DOING WAS IN RIGHT. But, thank goodness for the House taking back control. Boo hoo for you. They come through once, say something stupid and then are gone: Their job is done. If we can‘t get them removed from these forums where they don’t belong I guess the next best thing is just to ignore them. Their comments have no meaning or value whatsoever beyond the intended purpose of disruption. They will fail. We will prevail. But it is a pain in the ass.

Posted on January 8, 2011 at 1:36amThis is proof that God exists and that those who support policies favoring the rich will themselves, if they play the lottery and adhere to the words of God, become rich themselves. Case in point with this lottery winner.
Jesus spoke often about what is now called the “trickle down” theory, although you will not find that terminology in the Bible. In the Good Book, our Lord spoke frequently of creating a world where the very richest among men were blessed with further acquisition of wealth while the number of those of moderate mean decreased and the number of those without increased exponentially. Thanks be to God that is the situation in the our country today, where the less deserving, those who choose to languish because of their sloth, become destitute, while those who own the wealth of this Christian nation are rewarded with record profits. The richest are become richer, thank God, while the rest of the country, those who would not work hard and curry the favor of God, become poorer.
We all die. And once in Heaven, those who were the very richest will have the satisfaction of knowing they made the profit they so richly deserved, and lived lives of wealth and privilege, as they stand next to and perhaps a little above, the poor but honest. God has promised in Heaven we shall all become equal, but here on Earth, those who would accumulate wealth are given God’s favor.
