Jake Tapper Challenges Carney on WH Policies: ‘You Want Aggressive Journalism Abroad’ But Not in the U.S.

White House press secretary Jay Carney on Wednesday pushed back against a claim that the Obama administration champions aggressive journalism overseas while seeking to block the same kind of reporting in the U.S.
ABC White House correspondent Jake Tapper posed the question to Carney after he began Wednesday’s press briefing with a tribute to Western journalists Marie Colvin and Remi Ochlik, killed earlier that day in Syria after government forces bombed the house they were staying in, as well as Anthony Shadid, a New York Times reporter who died earlier this month from an asthma attack while trying to leave Syria.
“The White House keeps praising these journalists,” Tapper said, referring to Carney as well as a statement from Vice President Joe Biden. “How does that square with the fact that this administration has been so aggressively trying to stop aggressive journalism in the United States by using the Espionage Act to take whistleblowers to court?”
The Obama administration is suing a CIA officer for allegedly providing information in 2009 about CIA torture, Tapper said, and has invoked the Espionage Act six times so far, when it had previously only been used three times in history. [See editor's note below.]
“There just seems to be disconnect here,” he continued. “You want aggressive journalism abroad, you just don’t want it in the United States.”
Carney, a former journalist himself and — as TV Newser pointed out — married to ABC national correspondent Claire Shipman, answered: “I think we absolutely honor and praise the bravery of reporters who are placing themselves in extremely dangerous situations in order to bring a story of oppression and brutality to the world. I think that is commendable, and it’s certainly worth noting by us. And as somebody who knew both Anthony and Marie, I particularly appreciate what they did to bring that story to the American people.”
But with “issues here that involve highly classified information…divulging that kind of information is a serious issue,” he added.
“So the truth should come out abroad, it shouldn’t come out here?” Tapper pressed.
“Well, that’s not at all what I’m saying, Jake, and you know it’s not,” Carney said.

And through my tens of thousands of face to face meetings with all education levels and geographic demographics I have never seen more evasive speech traits. Such as stuttering, and Uming.. or A,aa . the brain does not have a built in SKIP.. Also note that EYE GAZE is a solid TELL. about evasive thinking and deceptive intentions. It is clearly a well studied area of human responses Rather like a “ Lie Detector ” test. As BHO has deceptive mannerisms and solidly the Non American president had what is easy to see as the ability to convince others. if most would only look to his eye movement and this is best done on the ” Mono – a Mono interviews with the Press. Simply watch his EYE movement after a question. If he looks DOWN and to the Left he is more than likely being deceptive. At least in one form or another. If he looks up and to the right he is actually recalling what he believes to be an honest reply. ( seldom ) have I seen this eye movement from this Non American. If he looks straight up at 45 degrees per se. He is actually making up the response as he goes. Additionally I have seen this many times as well. Try this with any one. And here is the best of all as a Person speaks they look straight to you, ( not at you ) per se. And the speech is even and with out the above mentioned voice defects. It is a Proven human trait.

Danzig is right, she is often a panelist on Special Report and she is also on Chris Wallace’s Sunday program as well. She is the female version of Juan Williams. I do fine her reasoning skills lacking when making a point and like Juan, she finds it hard to go against anything this President does and downplays issues like Solyndra and Fast and Furious. I do find her faces at another journalist questions very unprofessional.

Put that aside and the argument is mute even for the simple reason that the MSM does not agressively report the truth when its in fact out in the open for all to see like reverse racial discrimination all across this country, lies that the Obama Admin has told the American people and his promises that have been broken.
