Sometimes, it takes an outsider — an immigrant to this country — to explain why America is so exceptional and to point out how this great nation, which has been a beacon for people all over the world, is facing decline.
That was the case Wednesday when Rush Limbaugh took a call from a Jamaican immigrant residing in Redlands, Florida.
The woman, named Michelle, opened up the thought-provoking segment by thanking Rush and wealthy Americans for making it possible for her to even “come to this country with no education.” More pointedly, she told Rush, “I’ve succeeded, and, Rush, I didn’t know that I could say it, but it hurts to say, that I hate this country. If I had known that it was going to be like this, as soon as I became educated, I’d just leave.”
When asked to clarify when she started to hate the U.S., Michelle qualified that she only recently started to “hate what it has become.”
The small business owner said she is “tired of the garbage” and desperately would like to hire employees and maximize her profit but, given the current state of affairs, that is just not possible.
Speaking about the ordinary things Americans take for granted each day, Michelle said that when she came to this country and got a Pell Grant, she went to the library and was “so glad to see books, because in my country I couldn’t afford it.”
Please listen to the clip below, courtesy of Daily Rushbo:
CALLER: Exactly, because I had no high school education. I have a college education. I have a degree that pays up to $60 an hour. I have a small business, and I had to put it on temporary because since 2009 I know that I’m not in business to minimize profit and maximize loss, because I want to hire people. I want to help this country that has helped me. And I’m just sick of it. I’m black, and I don’t even want to fail — I don’t know what is wrong with people in this country. They don’t realize what they have, and they’re gonna lose it.
RUSH: It’s our education system, Michelle. Our previous caller pretty much correctly identified that. Barack Obama’s a product of it. He’s been taught to resent and hate this country. Not just the education system, but his whole family, stuff he was exposed to. But you didn’t want to move to a Third World country when you moved here, right?
CALLER: Of course not, Rush. When I came here, I left school in ninth grade, which is part of our elementary system there. But I couldn’t afford to go to college, sir, and when I came here, I get Pell grant, and I was so happy. I came here and went to the library. I was so glad to see books, because in my country I couldn’t afford it.
RUSH: What do you specifically hate about what’s happening in America now?
CALLER: Rush, put it this way. I’m tired of the garbage. I’m afraid of the Republican more than the Democrats. Because at least the Democrats know what they want and they’re doing it. The Republican are doing it behind the scene, and, in other words, I can see the Democrats coming, but I can’t see them, and I think they are even more dangerous than Barack Obama.
Rush translated that Michelle meant that the Democrats‘ agenda is clear while the Republicans’ is not. “She doesn’t see the Republicans standing up for her,” Rush explained. She doesn’t see the Republicans trying to stop it.”
While the call, at this point, seemed to be winding down, Michelle had a few additional words for the conservative firebrand, saying that if she could “give birth to one million Herman Cains” she believed it would solve some of the country’s problems:
CALLER: Mr. Rush, if I could give birth to one million Herman Cain, it would solve some of the problem in this country, and thank you for listening, sir. And you have a good day and –
RUSH: Wait a minute, you could probably do that if you met him!
CALLER: Well, you know what, Rush, I’m not even gonna go there, you know, because at least he’s — at least he’s — maybe I don‘t know if that’s what’s going on, we were told that, nobody knows what’s going on.
RUSH: I know, look, there’s no evidence of it, that’s the shame about it, there’s literally no evidence that any of these allegations against Herman Cain are true.
CALLER: Exactly, sir, and I don’t have time to pick sense of the nonsense, because I’m smarter than that. I don’t need to go to Harvard or Yale, and, Rush, if these people know it so much, why are we in this mess that we’re in? If they were the smartest since peanut butter, if they’re the best thing since peanut butter, why are we in this mess?

Posted on December 9, 2011 at 5:32pmMichelle (the caller) has 100% clarity. For the candidates, flipping and flopping to supposedly please the masses with PC…this is what you have done to many voters…clouded what you are for. Also for those that want a ‘perfect’ nominee…get over it, elect someon that will not be afraid to ask the question…”How is this person (Obama) our president even though, constitutionally, he is not eligible?”

Posted on December 9, 2011 at 8:20pmI couldn’t agree more. With both you and the poor ‘immigrant’.
Americans and America have been sold, by our politicians and corporate America (ie GE). For something we have no understanding of. But THEY do.
I’ve understood this very thing for years. We (government) are watering down our culture for reasons we (citizens) don’t understand. But we pay for it. We work for it. We enable them to do it. All while WE ignore their frantic efforts to achieve it, and conceal it from us.
Now, I KNOW nothing. I’m an idiot, just as much as obama “IS” a tool. But human psychology “IS” a science.
Thousands of years of history define our behavior, despite the very best efforts to conceal it.
3 things, that’s right, three things define the evil of our world. They are: Power. Greed. Influence.
Sure, you can include things like lust or envy or like or similar adjectives. But these 3 simple EMOTIONS drive the worlds evil. And the worlds scars and pain can ALL be attributed to them.
It was the IDEA of America that made her successful. And it is the IDEA of dominating her that has sprung the worlds contempt for her.
Now, you can look at it any way you choose, it’s your choice. But America is a jewel among the nations of the world for that ideal.
It could exist any where. But it is suppressed via the reasons above every where but here.
What will “Americans” do about it as our present government works to suppress it here?

Posted on December 10, 2011 at 1:14amSpeckChaser, I’m going to assume you are gainfully employeed. Your company may have layed off people since the economic collapse that started one year before Bush left office. But at some point they stopped laying off people. Why did they stop laying off people? I imagine they kept only the people they needed to meet the demand for whatever they sell (congratulations on keeping your job!). There is a principal there: companies employ the number of people they need to meet the demand for their products. If they make more money from a tax break, they don’t hire more people. They employ the people they need to meet the demand for their products.
A company doesn’t hire more people when they make more money, they hire more people when demand increases and they need more people to meet the demand. It’s pretty simple Speck although you may not be high enough in your company to see that, or maybe you never took in business.
To get the economy going we need to put more money in the hands of people who buy things, like you and me. Sorry, I think you and I should get a tax break. I’m not to worried about those guys who own private jets and islands in the pacific, who won’t create a single job unless you and I are buying their products.

As I have told you before, on this point I agree with a lot of your argument. Where you loose a lot of people is when you paint with a broad brush and assume the example you laid out is the the typical example for EVERY business.
I think everybody understands a company that is meeting current demand with the employees they have will not necessarily hire more with a tax break. What you not taking into account are some businesses would like to expand into news areas where they could meet a demand but can’t afford to expand. I’m going out on a limb and assuming you have never been a business owner. I don’t think you would make the argument that higher taxes (reduction in the bottom line/reduce the bottom line and increase the % it takes to keep the current employees employed) on business owners have no effect on unemployment rates if you were or are one.
Not to mention our founders would not agree with the idea that government should let YOU keep more of the money YOU earned only if the government gets some type of benefit (you hire more people and lower unemployment rates). Our freedom and rights were not set based on conditions. Keep more of your money via lower taxes based on the condition you must hire…keep your firearms on the condition of lowering the crime rates…
You differ from the founders because you look at issues through the prism of empowering the government when they looked to empower individuals and limit the power of the government.

That was one of the greatest travesties of the entire pre-election period, and the entire Republican Party was complicit.
Now as has been said by this noble woman, we still neither know what the Republican Party stands for nor against – kind or like the Emperor in his underwear. This charade and the frigging vacuum being created by it has got to come to a screeching halt. It may well take a revolution on the order of that stated by Thomas Jefferson, to rid ourselves of the godless slime that permeates the hearts of probably 90% of the Democrats in Washington and likewise 40% or more of the Republicans. They neither represent the Constitution nor the tenants of its foundation and the peoples rights that they were meant to protect.
Many clamor for peace, sometimes using it as a tool for their agenda. There will be no peace until the Prince of Peace returns, and He will be carrying a sword. Wake up!

In exchange for offering up to and including your life in service of this country the members are afforded a very good lifestyle but make no mistake sir, we, whom have served and currently do serve pay for everything with the promise of our hides. Again, the difference between socialism / communism / progressive ism and Obama-ism is that anyone who CHOOSES to go into the military does so of their own free will knowing full well that at some time, they may have to render the ultimate sacrifice.
Also, in the military there is no Constitutional law protections for the most part. We have the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) that controls the rank & file members. So, there is now welfare, no BS Govt housing that the inhabitants piss all over and sell drugs out of. NO! If that type of POS human turns up in the ranks…. it is SWIFTLY dealt with accordingly.
In summation: Military = free will to serve knowing your ass is on the line.
Socialism / marxism / communism et. al = you will serve and your choices are handed to your ass.

Until you live in a foreign country you take what you have here in America for granted. Many times I thought all Americans should be required to live in another country for at least 6 months to 1 year.
You don’t have any 7-11′s, you don’t have a Safeway, Albertsons, or Winn Dixie or any type of supermarket. You have no malls. Now grant you Germany had KFC and McDonald’s, but you had to drive to a big city to get to them. Luckily on a military installation we had the commissary to shop.
However, Turkey that embargo I mentioned, the Turkish government actually delayed shipments for up to 6 months to our commissary. Our frozen food had freezer burns and our flour, cereal and other dry goods had bugs. It got so bad the vets and doctors on base said to sift them out as they would not hurt you. We all joked we got a little meat with our biscuits and cereal.
When several wives wrote their Congressman the answer they got back was, “there were no dependents in Turkey”. They did not know dependents were still at the only NATO base. They had no clue.

Posted on December 9, 2011 at 5:49pmSadly I have to agree with you. We as American’s have had it to good for so long we lack the perspective. I find it sad when inner city kids are asked where milk comes from and they can only say a carton or the grocery store. I think our standard of living is going to take a big hit and a lot of people aren’t going to be able to adjust.

Posted on December 9, 2011 at 6:32pmThe military is not an easy life. You move constantly. Quarters are not always that great. You never know when you or your husband will be sent overseas. After 20 years of service the retirement is not enough to live on (unlike the retirement of Senators). We owe all our military and their families a great deal.

Posted on December 9, 2011 at 5:09pmFellow Americans:
This caller is on target. The U.S. is tired of feeling the effects of crony capitalism, which is not real capitalism. Real capitalism started in this country when the pilgrims arrived, getting away from kings, dictators, and anyone who wanted to control the human will to rough it out, e.g. individual responsibility. It is also about not killing, not stealing, and honoring agreements. Anything other than this, which includes dealing in circles of cliques, thugs, corrupt individuals, organized crime, fabian socialists, national socialists, international socialists–e.g. communists, dictators, etc., is not real capitalism. Crony capitalism makes man the center of the universe and everything is subordinate–a greater entity than man cannot exist for crony capitalists. In comparison, a real capitalist depends on God or a greater form, e.g. an architect of the universe; man is subordinate and God is at the center of the universe(s). That is why this nation was founded on principles of God and experiences with subordination in the past–purspose of the U.S. Constitution. Everything that the caller discusses alludes to crony capitalism. This country is begging to put systems in place to control this “disease” that seems to be out of control.

With the Demoncrats we know where they are coming from, but with these Republicans I am not so sure what to expect from them. We have a representative here in NC that flipped on us as soon as she was elected last November. WE HAVE TO GET A TRUE CONSERVATIVE IN THE WHITE HOUSE!!
Report Post »jnpg
Posted on December 9, 2011 at 6:21pmI think the only true Conservative is Ron Paul. People want to get hung up on his foreign policy- but what is wrong with a foreign policy that focuses on DEFENSE not offense. We act like a big bully globally with our military. We CAN’T afford it. You think China is going to fund us to fight their allies Iran and Pakistan? If you are under a rock and don’t know it- the military, both active and vets, send more money to Ron Paul than any other candidate. At one time they sent more to RP than all the other Republican candidates combined. Please think more about the one man that even Glenn called ‘the closest thing we have to a Founding Father’. God bless you all.

Posted on December 9, 2011 at 4:57pmThe saddest part,is that there is a huge difference between American blacks and blacks who have come from other countries ,like Jamaica. There is no hope for American born blacks with their ghetto mentality. The immigrant blacks can see all the things America has to offer. This is the slave legacy the democratic party has brought to the American black. Too bad they’re too stupid and lazy to see it.

S-Eye: couldn’t agree with you more.
Pelosi, Reid, Sharpton, Cornell, Jackson Sr. and Jr., Obama, Holder, Boxer, Schumer, Byrd, etc. have spent lifetimes creating a permanent, black, poverty class that will always vote for democrats since the democrats enable, reward, and promote a “massa-gonna-take-care-of-me” lifestyle.
Read the groundbreaking book, “Whites, Blacks, and Racist Democrats”, by Reverend Wayne Perryman who just happens to be a man of color.
Perryman heroically exposes the plantation chains of the democrat party. He proves democrats are historically pro-abortion because the majority of aborted babies are black. The only thing democrats like about blacks are the votes keeping them in power
The following link goes to a website that clearly states, and I quote, “A vote for a Pro-Choice Candidate is a vote for Black Genocide.”
http://www.blackgenocide.org/gap.html
Racism is the historic province of Democrats NOT Republicans. The KKK was historically an enclave of democrats NOT republicans. Praise God for the growing numbers of conservative black voters who refuse to be taken for granted or intimidated by racist democrats black or white.

Posted on December 9, 2011 at 6:00pm… I know exactly how she feels. I would ask, “How do we make a Progressive Liberal Marxist’ see the light of truth?” For at least 25 years political correctness and our education system, to name only a few, has literally destroyed our youth up to now. How do we change that mindset in time? I believe liberalism is a sickness of the mind on a massive scale. How do we stop liberalism? I don’t think we can. I think the only way to save our country from disaster is through drastic measures of extreme prejudice against all of those who wish to destroy America. I think that day is right around the corner. I also think that we have no one to blame but ourselves. We’ve lost our country. What we get back will be unrecognizable. God Bless America …

Posted on December 9, 2011 at 4:46pmCurrent state of our education system is a product of Sin. 52% of children born today are without a mom or dad in the household. That has an economic impact on our society, over 112 billions of dollars are wasted on government programs that deal with the cause an affect of this immorality. That does not include the affects on families because of Drugs and incarcerations.
When you take God out of education, the light will dim on that society. That is social justice. Where ever a man’s heart is, he will become.
There’s an alliance between our political left & Islamic Muslims, they’re united in one respect, they despise western civilization.
In 30 years, Muslims will have the population majority, they have the highest population growth in the world, second is Christians. The only way to overcome that is to kill Islamic muslims extremist and for Christians to commit to marriage at early ages, 18-25 not waiting to be 40.

Posted on December 9, 2011 at 4:40pmANALYSIS:
It is because the leaders we have are ‘smarter than peanut butter’ that we are in this Gods-forsaken mess. This nightmare we live is by intention. They want this nation to self-destruct because we are the only beacon on this planet that proves rampant Capitalism can do more for a nation – and the world – than Socialism ever shall do.
With America annihilated, there will be no example to prove them wrong. No examples of their failures = less resistance to their attempted one world governance. Simple enough, no?

Posted on December 9, 2011 at 4:58pmI agree. The USA was a contrasting contradiction of success through competition with other ways of life. Without contrast there is no competition – exactly what they want when a “level playing field” is touted.
What would a smart person want to live with – a torrential running river teaming with fish not easily caught, or a stagnant pond teaming with microbial algae and mud?
Sure, one way requires more effort to obtain success, but that is what motivates one to better himself. The other way leads to a slow, painful, atrophy and demise.
