Jan Brewer Endorses Romney for President: ‘By Far the Person Who Can Go in and Win’

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer is throwing her support behind Mitt Romney for president.
“I think Mitt is by far the person who can go in and win,” Brewer said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.“ ”I think he’s the man who can go out and carry the day.”
The Republican governor‘s endorsement comes just two days before Arizona’s presidential primary.
“He handles himself very, very well,” Brewer said of Romney. “But more than that he has that pro-business background and he has that political history that I think that he would serve America the best of all the candidates.”
Brewer, with her strong anti-illegal immigration stance, is something of a hero in conservative circles: She made headlines when a now-infamous photo depicting what looked like a tense encounter with President Barack Obama circulated last month. On Saturday, it was reported that she would be skipping a black-tie governors’ dinner at the White House.

Posted on February 26, 2012 at 10:34amIt’s Newt or bust!
Twit Romney couldn’t even beat John McCain. Romney is John McCain’s leftovers. If Romney becomes the nominee, Obama slam dunks. Santorum’s proverbial flash in the pan is waning. Ron “The Sniveler” Paulsy never had a chance to begin with.
Newt has the vision, the wit, the nerve, the experience. He has already proved he can change Washington for the better. A vote for anyone other than Newt Gingrich is a vote for Obama, ans alas, that’s what we are indeed racing towards.
An early congratulations to the President on his re-election.
A big flying “F.U.” to Glenn Beck, Ann Coulter, Donald Trump, Chris Christie, Jan Brewer, and all the other prominent and influential Romney supporters and Newt bashers. Thanks a lot, geniuses.

As you stand on your principles we will have an unfettered Obama continuing to ignore congress and shoving his idea of America so far down our throats it will be hard to dislodge. I would rather have Romney choosing the next couple of Supreme Court Justices as well as impacting the economy than Obama. Gas prices are high now, wait for four more years of Obama financing failing green energy companies as new drilling permits are held up in red tape. I would support any candidate over Obama only because I know to do otherwise will do far more harm to our country than Newt, Santorum, Paul or Romney will do. The problem with Republicans is we eat our own and with this election that is oh so evident.

Posted on February 26, 2012 at 11:18amI must agree that “electability” is being falsely promoted by the establishment as the primary reason to support a candidate.
What they are completely IGNORING is the huge percentage of conservatives that didn‘t vote in ’08.
ACTIVATING those voters may be easier or more significant than “a bigger tent.”
The problem with the “bigger tent” tactic is, you compromise your principles, you sell your soul, and you lose your platform (you FOUNDATION) and as a result, you lose your identity (that which DIFFERENTIATES you from obama.)
I will support the eventual nominee.
However, I am livid with the “Tea Party Express” and the “Tea Party Patriots” who took our millions of dollars and utterly #FAIL -ed to recruit or promote or back or endorse ANY candidates!!!
The time is gone when we can give a credit card number to a PAC and trust them to do OUR WORK for us! It is time we go door-to-door, and educate our neighbors.

Posted on February 26, 2012 at 3:59pmI don’t think so, but perhaps I’m misinterpreting your post. The progressive era started in 1890-1920’s, with the seeds of the movement planted in the 1830-40’s with the women’s rights, abolition, and early temperance movements. The original intent response started with, I believe, Justice Hugo Black in the 1930’s. Washington wasn’t a subscriber to original intent theory because he was the original. There really wasn’t a social conservative movement during his time that I’ve read about. They were what they were. There was a difference between he and Hamilton’s Federalist Party vs. Jefferson and Madison, but neither was progressive. I’m unfamiliar with Washington being a libertine, but don’t really get your point on that. However, it’s widely accepted that the Progressive Era started much later than Washington’s lifetime with social reform through government intervention. Vice laws, drug laws, prohibition, etc.

Posted on February 26, 2012 at 10:07amThank you Jan Brewer, a very discerning woman!! She not only SUPPORTS Mr. Romney, she pledges to WORK in Arizona as well as the entire US on his behalf!!!
Mr. Santorum is a head-strong dolt with too many kids to fit into the White House. Mr. Gingrich does things underhandedly when things don’t suit him.

Yes, we all were very happy about her tough stance with the regime re illegals.

Posted on February 26, 2012 at 10:13amShh – Pat and Glenn hate you Ron Paul supporters.
While they claim to be anti-progressive, they support a progressive international policy.
They also seem to support the oppressive Patriot act and Home Land Security.
Glenn would happily scare us into giving up our liberties – way too much fear mongering, not enough liberty.
Oh well maybe Glenn will eventually figure it out.

Posted on February 26, 2012 at 11:01amThe “establishment” today is Democratic (Progressive-Marxist).
Pete Townshend of The Who probably defines himself as a liberal today…against America’s Republican Party, like Sir Paul McCartney is (due to years of leftist indoctrination by their peers).

Posted on February 26, 2012 at 10:07amWhy does Romney do nothing to dispel the impression that he is the establishment world govt candidate? We do not need a president who will sell us out to the IMF and G20/G8.
Also Romney lies every time he is pinned down on an issue – hard to respect that.

Posted on February 26, 2012 at 9:59amShe is entitled to her opinion-and I my own. We were taught that an argument based upon a false premise is itself false. When the Republican establishment wakes up and starts working on the idea that OBAMA by his record in the US Senate-and in the WhiteHouse is NOT electable. when they begin to project that truth. Perhaps I will allow them to say who I should vote for. I cannot vote for a man who has endorsed same sex marriage– and who has endorsed abortion on demand–no matter what his record is as a political insider with a record in business.

Posted on February 26, 2012 at 11:28amRick Santorum is another extremist when it comes to his self-righteous social values. The liberal media distracted him on it (off-topic from time on the REAL issues that most Americans probably care about) and his poll numbers have dropped since. We want a Constitutionally-strict, ethical statesman — not a sanctimonious preacher — in the Oval Office.
