Janeane Garofalo: Herman Cain Helps GOP Hide ‘Racist Elements of the Republican Party’

Janeane Garofalo: Cain Helps GOP Hide Racist Elements of the GOPLeft-leaning comedian and talking head Janeane Garofalo is back at it, appearing again on Keith Olbermann’s “Countdown” program to chat all things politics.

On Wednesday night, she slammed Republicans, conservatives and Tea Party enthusiasts, calling them racists. As you’ll recall, she said the following back in August (about Cain):

“[He's] in this presidential race because he deflects the racism that is inherit in the Republican party, the conservative movement, the Tea Party certainly.”

Now, she’s following up on these statements with even more commentary about Cain and his presence in the GOP presidential field. Last night, aside from saying that Palin and Fox News have no credibility, she railed on about the GOP’s alleged racism:

“Herman Cain is…is…is…a…is probably well-liked by some of the Republicans, because it hides the racist elements of the Republican Party, conservative movement and Tea Party movement — one in the same…

Herman Cain provides this great opportunity so that you can say ‘look this is not a racist, anti-immigrant, anti-female, anti-gay movement…look we have a black man over here! Look, he’s polling well and he won a straw poll over here.”

Hot Air’s Ed Morrissey tackles these statements head-on, writing that the arguments presented are “vapid,” as liberals like Garofalo accuse conservatives of racism regardless of how well a minority candidate fares in the polls. He writes:

…this clip encapsulates perfectly how intellectually vapid the Republicans-are-racists argument truly is. If African-Americans don’t do well among Republicans, it’s evidence of racism, and now if they do get support among Republicans, that’s also racism. It’s an unanswerable assertion that not only is completely circular in its logic, it’s also lunacy.

      Well, white liberals believe that blacks (and other minorities) are not 100% humans and cannot survive by themselves, that’s why they need affirmative actions, welfare, all kinds of protection.

      Compare it with a C-student Barack Obama (where is his transcripts???), who only got an education and a job as a professor assistant because of Affirmative Action.

      You know, I wouldn’t be surprised if she has studied some history. It may be changed somewhat but she is kind of spouting things that virtually all blacks were saying about the democrats over 50 – 60 years ago. Back then, the blacks were saying a lot of this stuff about the democratic party and even stating that only a black without a mind would even consider being affiliated with the democratic party because the democratic party is pure out and out racist and against blacks in every form except as slaves. Of course since then the democrats have managed to get most of their purpose fulfilled by putting the blacks back into slavery only now they are calling it welfare/medicaid. So the democrats should be happy, they have their “slaves” back into submission under them just like at the start of this nation. It only took them about a hundred years to do too.

      What is it with people like this who hold such maniacal views regarding racism? It’s as if it is a topic that consumes them totally. It’s as if there is no issue on earth that can even barely compare with the importance of racism. With them it is first, last and always.

      Would they be happy if racism…whatever that means nowadays…were eliminated entirely? Is it the end game to everything we live for, work for, and should desire above all things?

      Well, the fact of the matter is that this pitiful dupe…and those like her….did not arrive at their state of mind through a voluntary process of analytical evaluation. They’re part of the gullible, mindless robots who have been indoctrinated with political correctness and espouse the dogma they been indoctrinated with everytime a PC tenant is raised. With her it is racism that pushes her button, and she can neither regard the issue with objectivity nor intellectual honesty so ingrained in her psyche is the abohrance of it to her. And, I don’t know, but I’ll bet a dollar to a donut that this aversion to “racism” doesn’t EVER, EVER include white people as victims.

      And I’m willing to bet this nonsense has been programmed into her by her Hollywood plantation owners the same way it has been programmed into so many by the universities, schools and MSM.

      Jesus doesn’t have to be a Republican for her to harbor ill will toward Him.

      She’s a non-Messianic Jew, so by definition she has already denied Jesus’ truth. Most non-Messianic Jews consider Him a good Rabbi and most consider Him a True (as opposed to False) Prophet, but that’s actually a bit of a misnomer and avoiding several major problems in their argument.

      By definition:
      1. Neither a good Rabbi nor a True Prophet can lie.
      2. Jesus said He was the Messiah, the only way to God.
      3. This makes him either a) a heretic and either a liar or a lunatic, or b) exactly what He said He is.

      One cannot be a good Rabbi or a True Prophet and say he is the messiah without being THE Messiah. So which is it? Liar, lunatic, or Messiah?

However, when a person tells another person that they cannot achieve, that they cannot rise in life to their status because of the color of their skin, that is racist. And to believe that dribble, is lazy and not courageous. I never let my bi-racial background hold me back, even though American blacks resented and demonized my white half. White people never did that to me. They accepted me and allowed me to be equal (which I am – aren’t we all??). Racism in this country is at its lowest point in history among white people.

It is so obvious that they are using the word irrespective of any relationship to race. If we, conservatives, weren’t so offended by racism it would be much less effective. The truth is we conservatives and Republicans too for the most part are extremely turned off by the concept of racism. We were generally speaking brought up to believe that it is character that matters and we strive to be color blind.       Agree. When you point a finger at another, you point more back at yourself. Critics usually are worried at some self fault at what they criticise in others. She likely harbors concerns with her own racism.
      BTW, Obama is NOT black, he is what the dictionary calls a mulatto, one white one black parent. Biracial. Obama was brought up white. He was brought up in the asian community. Cain has two black parents and was brought up in the deep south. Obamas has no earned credentials, Cain has them all. Interestingly, Cain would draw away from Obama major electorate, making Cain more electible. Cain fiercely says in attending dozens upon dozens of Tea Parties gatherings he has NEVER encountered racism. I doubt that Janeane has attended any.

      I don’t think it has anything to do with guilt on her part. Because of her chosen life style she has issues with conservatives. She‘s in the same league with Rosie O’Donnell. Both of them are angry liberals who usually resort to name calling and rediculous accusations. Saying the Tea Party are racists is like saying all blacks are criminals or all lesbians are angry. Both of these two things are false. Liberals like her like to present themselves as being smarter, more forward thinking, more progressive than conservatives. And the funny thing is they are often very narcissistic. They only think of themselves first. As conservatives we have beliefs. And we also have an acceptance of those that aren‘t like us and don’t think the same. And in return we are attacked….for what we believe…by people who have as one of their montras as…accept me as I am…and I’ll do the same as long as you agree with me. This is the same woman who went to Europe and said on one on their radio stations that liberals don’t get enough attention with the main stream media.       TravlMan…. well said. Many of us conservatives have been model citizens and have never had a problem with folks in general but over the last 3 or 4 years or so, we‘re getting labeled as racists because it’s the convenient response or answer to whatever it is they disagree with.

    Why did I not see that at the first debate – Mr. Cain – a prop to salve the conscience of the Party of Mr. Lincoln? How brazen can the GOP get?
