It wasn’t your typical Sunday sermon, but then again, Jeremiah Wright isn’t exactly your typical reverend.

Speaking just miles from the White House at the 100th anniversary of Washington, D.C.’s Florida Avenue Baptist Church on Sunday, Rev. Wright accused some of America‘s most prestigious academic institutions of infecting black people’s brains with “white racist DNA,” POLITICO reports.

He started by using the Book of Isaiah and its message of the value of foundational stones as a metaphor, imploring parishioners to teach their children the real African-American history and not the one taught by “our enemies” who “distorts our history, disses our history.” He then reportedly rattled off a list of some of the most important black figures in all of history, including Nat Turner, Emmett Till, Rosa Parks, Paul Robeson, Zora Neale Hurston and others and said their stories must be passed on.

Interestingly, Wright left Martin Luther King, Jr. off the list, The Daily Caller reports. It is unclear whether this was intentional.

“They are the foundation,” Wright explained. “These stones of memory shall serve as a sign among you so that in the future when your children, who only know Oprah and Obama, when our children who speak the language of Nas, 50 Cent, Lil Wayne (Weezy) and Ludacris. When your children ask you who are these people and what do these stones mean, these stones mean, you can tell them what it is that God did to get us from where we were to where we are.”

“We need to tell our children… how we got from a black congressman named Adam Clayton Powell to a black president named Barack Hussein Obama,” Wright continued. “But we also need to tell them how we have black politicians who steal money.”

Wright went on to blast some of the country’s top universities for turning black people into “sheep dogs” and “biscuits” – what he calls African-Americans raised in white America. He also warned that attending the schools causes black people to get “that alien DNA all up inside their brain.”

“Take that baby him or her away from the African mother, away from the African community, away from the African experience … and put them Africans at the breasts of Yale, Harvard, University of Chicago, those trinity schools, UCLA or U.C. Berkley. Turn them into biscuits then they’ll get that alien DNA all up inside their brain and they will turn on their own people in defense of the ones who are keeping their own people under oppression,” Wright said.

He continued: “There’s white racist DNA running through the synapses of his or her brain tissue. They will kill their own kind, defend the enemies of their kind or anyone who is perceived to be the enemy of the milky white way of life.”

Keep in mind, Obama himself attended Harvard and Columbia University.  It is also unclear whether Wright considers the president to be a “biscuit,“ infected with ”white racist DNA,” but he apparently never came right out and said it.

Though the Obamas severed their ties to Wright and his church in 2008, the preacher has remained an emblem for some conservatives of the extreme views they believe the president has.

“The world is about to see Jeremiah Wright and understand his influence on Barack Obama for the first time in a big, attention-arresting way,” said a proposal for super PAC-funded advertising attacking the Obama-Wright connection leaked this spring. But billionaire Joe Ricketts – for whom the proposal had been written – disavowed any interest in going forward with the ads. Mitt Romney also distanced himself.

Wright made sure not to waste an opportunity to attack the tea party and suggested that the movement was somehow against the black community.

“This is not a time to romanticize because we have the first African descended president in the White House,” he said. “You see what the tea party is trying to do. This not the time to romanticize or fantasize.”

The Daily Caller reports that Wright also quoted Frederick Douglass, who in his famous 1852 “The Meaning of July Fourth to the Negro” speech said: “ The feeling of the nation must be quickened; the conscience of the nation must be roused; the propriety of the nation must be startled; the hypocrisy of the nation must be exposed; and its crimes against God and man must be proclaimed and denounced.”

“Frederick Douglass’ words sound curiously like a controversial preacher preaching 150 years after Douglass,” he said before reading an excerpt of the speech.

      Well, at least he agrees with Blazers that colleges and universities are teaching our youth bad ideas. I never thought I’d see the day that the Blaze and its posters would agree with Wright on something, but there you go. Disparate minds finding common ground. Advanced education, as it’s taught in the United States of America is bad.

      Sure America has the best advanced education in the world now, but at what price? Moral degradation, that’s the price. Once we start teaching Truth, that the Earth is only a couple of thousand years old, that the theory of evolution is false, and start using Glenn Beck’s books to teach history will our country finally, after great and prolonged effort on the part of the patriots such as those here, become an intellectually and technologically inferior nation. Praise God!

      I’m not PC so I offend some people for saying what I see. So with that being said, Why is it always the blacks advocating racism? Maybe if blacks quit the “I’m a victim” crap and get over something that happened 150 years ago, which had nothing to do with them now, we as a nation can move on together.       I can agree with you on the point of moral degradation being what college is getting us, but I’ve got to say, the degradation is also mental. Used to be that college was where you went to find where you want to work in life and what you want to do, people come and DO stuff. Now kids go there just for fun, as in mostly to get high, waste money, and really not do anything that college was made to accomplish.

      The Reverend is wrong in that he believes the problems faced by Black people are caused by some some horrific system put in place by us white people for heaven only knows what purpose (I’ll go with WORLD DOMINATION, muhahaha!). But college graduates today are a bunch of self obsessed children in adult bodies exemplified by Mark Wahlberg’s character in Ted. You have a way to fix the problem that doesn’t involve throwing more money at schools, I’ll be happy to hear it.

    Obama is a half and half- biscuit who is definately infected with racist DNA (which he got mostly from sitting in the Church of Wright and other mentors). He will also throw Blacks (just like Rearend Wright) under the bus just as quickly as he threw his White granny and America under the bus if it suits his purposes. His only real allegiance is to himself and saving his own biscuits…

      Insight…hard to come by, hard to measure. She says in her dedication “thanks for always making me feel good about myself…” I taught college at a trade school for over eight years. The student base was mixed. Among the classes I taught sketching. Curiously, when I mentioned the color black when referring to art materials there was a tangible spark to the air….very unscientific I know…but it seems there might be an overly self conscious aspect to some people and their race. If it is true, an irrational hypersensitivity, there’s never going to be any getting beyond it….because who can’t name it. Quite honestly we all feel misplaced in society Michelle. Join the human race, and get over yourselves.

    Maybe the Rev. Wright should take his advice and read the real African-American History. The only ones that planted the racist DNA are people like him. I get so tired of hearing and being blamed for being a racist and a slave owner. See Rev, take some time and read YOUR HISTORY. Do you know who the “first” owner of slaves was in the Colonial U.S.? His was a black man named Anthony Johnson. In 1651 he held 250 acres and 5 “black” indentered servants to work his tobacco fields. By the 1860′s, Rev., thousands of “free people of color” in that state owned black slaves. So Rev.–teach the true history of your DNA and teach those your true history. There is so much more to learn. For those interested, all I had to type in was blacks who owned slaves. Quite interesting and enlightning.

      Yes – He himself had been an indentured servant and when his time was up he bought land and had his own indentured servant, a black man by the name of John Casor. When Casor’s time was up Johnson contested his freedom in court and won.

      A black man, using the court system, was the first slave owner in Colonial America.

      I’m making jokes about this since Wright, Barry, J. Jackson, Sharpton, Farrakhan, they are all jokes, and since blacks vote black they can say what they want and still get the black vote.
      And the white man has to fear not being pro-black, pro-Hispanic, pro-gay, pro-illegal alien, just to try to get 5 % of the black vote, slowly America will start to look like South Africa, then we as a race are doomed.
