Jeremy Lin’s breakthrough season has come to an abrupt halt after an MRI revealed he had a small, chronic meniscus tear in his left knee.
ESPN reports, “Lin has missed the past three games with what the team was calling a sore [knee], but there was a sense something could be more serious when he went for an MRI.”
The Knicks have announced that Lin will undergo arthroscopic surgery and is expected to miss six weeks, therefore preventing him from playing the rest of the regular season, and possibly even the first round of the playoffs.
The Knicks will continue to turn to Baron Davis in place of Lin, the undrafted Harvard alum who became the starter in February and turned in a series of brilliant performances, kicking off a phenomenon that was called Linsanity.
“It’s a big blow,” Coach Mike Woodson said.

Posted on April 1, 2012 at 7:01amNo, Kidd had nothing to do with it…It was Tanya Harding!
Now seriously, he was lucky to have his 5 minutes of fame.
