‘Jerk’: John McCain Responds to Heckler During Memorial Day Speech

John McCain was in San Diego on Monday giving a Memorial Day speech with Mitt Romney. But not everyone was happy the war hero was there. A heckler in a black POW-MIA shirt stood up and started shouting. He was quickly escorted out, but as he was leaving McCain had a word for him: “jerk.” The crowd erupted:
Twitchy has captured some of the best Twitter responses.
And how’s this for irony: the outburst came on the same day President Obama spoke out about Vietnam vets being denigrated when they returned home.

ONE idiot out of 5,000 in attendance stood up and started ranting.
I turned to my friend and said, “Watch – THIS is all the press will report on about this event.”
Sure enough ………….

Posted on May 29, 2012 at 11:16amSo true and we give them a nice sound bite they can use against us. Although at the moment it seems the right direction to go, but silence can also be golden instead of lowering oneself to the status of the heckler. Everyone already knows he is a Jerk. The Senator and Former Naval Officer should have acted with more dignity. Instead he took everyone around him down to the playground level. Dumb move on McCains behalf.

Posted on May 29, 2012 at 12:58pmSadly we as a nation should have started four years ago on a much more productive course. Ending the entitlement society. But today we are another 5 trillion in debt and four years of lost time beginning to correct the problem. That 5 trillion spent desperately trying to keep the commie utopia of guberment supplying jobs, food, schooling, housing, health care and on and on which is never going to work. Would have been better spent buying everyone out on a sliding age scale from the grip of social security. There that would have been over for good. The time and money wasted on the development Obama care should have been used to develop personal life long health care insurance policies that the guberment would have had nothing to do with. It would have removed the overlapping of paying for the risk possibility of medical payments from auto, home, workman comp insurance. But no we now have to first get a closet commie out of the White House and then go to work addressing the problems. and continue to look at these endless guberment graphs showing how much of the other guys money were going to need to reach the commie goal of paying for it…unbelievable..

Posted on May 29, 2012 at 2:35pmA lot of people do not like McCain, myself I do not think highly of him, but I liked it when he called the man a “jerk”. We have become a society where we are afraid to speak out. If it were me being interupted by a heckler – I would of used a stronger word – like “a–hole”. But that word would make me on the same level as the heckler. “HECK” is a good word, and it is about time for use to speak up and speak out.

Posted on May 29, 2012 at 4:53pmThere is a lot to not like about John McCain, but calling the heckler a ‘jerk’ is not one of them. I am tired of living in our society where we can no longer think or say what is on our mind. There are those who say the heckler has his right to speak out. Of course he does, but only if he was asked to speak in frount of the group with permission. There are some who say McCain lowered himself to the standards of the heckler by calling the man a ‘jerk’. That would be true if he would of used the word(s) I would of used like “a–hole“ or ”what a dumb sh–”.

I may not agree with McCain but he has a right to speak, aka the First Amendment. And as I read the First Amendment, it doesn’t even insinuate the right to heckle. McCain’s words are important, not this black-shirted overweight Wall Street Occupier. And if this blob actually has something important to say, I suggest he get his own microphone and collect his little band of cockroaches to listen to how stupid he can be and how quick he can be that way.

You don’t like John McCain then find some other left wing radical to listen to! If I disn‘t care for John McCain I wouldn’t waste my time and go to listen to his speech! Here is the difference I see in Republican’s and Democrats.. Republican’s for the most part are more tolerant, have more respect.. and last of all..don’t put their will upon others. The guy in the audience and guys like him or the left.. they seem to think they are always right.. and if you think differently than them then they will shout you down. I don’t know how many times I have listened to a liberal leftwing nut and bitten my tongue.. it doesn’t do any good to argue with them, tell them or show the facts.. they believe themselves and don’t want to hear anything else! I feel sorry for them! Ignorance is bliss!

Posted on May 29, 2012 at 10:24amyou are correct they want to silence all oposition. they infiltrate any and everything and nothing is sacred to them, not the church pews we sit in, not funerals, not anything it is all game for the left to come in and start their blathering nonsense. I am so tired of it. to them nothing is sacred holy or off limits. Especially the videos of them in churches disrupting services, things like this where we are honoring those lost, it is just disgusting. these lefties are the ones that should have been spanked or told no as a child and still have the impulse reaction and control of a two year old. it is very frustrating at times as I believe in more speech not silencing it, there is just no speaking with the left, they are blinded by their baseless opinions and cannot see reason ever. there is no discussing with them, they are radical for their cause.

Posted on May 29, 2012 at 9:42amMcCain is a traitor to the US and has been since he sold out to the Vietnamese during that war. McCain traded top secret info to the enemy in Vietnam for medical treatment. Info exposed was “route packages” flown by US pilots to bomb North vietnam. The enemy readjusted their air defenses accordingly and hence we lost many more aircraft thanks to McCain. McCain is a puppet for the military-industrial complex and is one of the main senators pushing all these recent conflicts in Libya, syria, etc… Not a hero or patriot in my book!!!

Posted on May 29, 2012 at 5:07pmSouthern Patriot, John McCain did confess to war crimes against the North Vietnamese people. But you have to understand that he was in a POW camp and being tortured every day. He and most of the other American POW’s were beaten, starved, left out in the elements and denied any medical care unless they did give up secrets and confess to war crimes. John McCain was in constant horrific pain. I don’t remember most of the injuries he suffered, but his jaw was broken, his arms and every other bone in his body was broken. He can not lift his hands above his head and his face is permanently disfigured. He is not the only one that traded info for medical care. I am not saying it is right, I am just saying that it was a matter of being broken and surviving a horrific situation.
I do agree that he is not the best person to represent the Republican ideal, but this was an event honoring the men and women that died to keep us free. He should not have said anything about the man that was heckling, but he has earned the right to say and do what he wants.
