Jerry Springer Has Testy Exchange With Fox Host: ‘Every Single Day’ You ‘Bash’ Obama!

Remember the old days when Jerry Springer was a trashy TV host and facilitated arguments between moms and step-daughters that inevitably turned to fist fights? Well on Wednesday, Springer got back in touch with  his controversial side and decided to challenge Fox’s slogan of “fair and balanced” while on the set of a Fox segment. And host Gretchen Carlson wasn’t having any of it.

“We’re here on Fox News,” Springer — the former mayor of Cincinnati — began during a segment on the controversial Newsweek cover regarding Obama’s critics. “Every single day, in fairness, you guys, every single day, bash President Obama. Every day!”

Carlson wasn’t too pleased.

“I’m going to take you to task on that. I’m going to take you to task on that,” she responded. “Because on this panel right here, we have a fair and balanced panel right here. And I’m the independent.”

“For this panel!” Springer replied. “What’s the rest of the show? The rest of the show, every single morning, you guys are slamming Obama. You know you are. And I’m not saying you don’t have a right to, but every single conversation is something bad about Obama.”

After another guest chimed in about the actual topic, Carlson came back: “And, by the way, Jerry, you obviously don’t watch our show, because you do not understand that there’s a reason — I’ll speak for myself, I sit in the middle, as the independent on the panel — and quite frankly, we present both sides of the story and we leave it up to our viewers to decide where they fall.”

She then cut to a break.

    I find it interesting how people on the left consider telling the truth and reporting the news is considered bashing. The President is a disaster so of course most news about him is negative. I watch Fox daily and they do not constantly “bash” the President. Mr. Springer is wrong and he is a classic example of how the left operates, insult and attack the other side or the messenger instead of having an honest debate.

      TEDDYC73, I agree with you. I am from Ohio and remember the Springer scandal which eventually gave him his syndicated program. He is out of touch with the American people. Another puppet that can’t see the hypocracy of his statements. He was given time on FOX wasn’t he? He doesn’t seem to mind the portrayal of conservatives on the mainstream media or what comes out of our presidents mouth.

      I agree. Why is the emphasis placed on the fact that he’s criticized on a daily basis; rather than the validity of the criticism. If, hypothetically, O blatantly lies to the public – ignores the constitution – has policies opposite of what stimulates economic growth – raise he cost of oil through a self imposed oil moratorium – borrows money to lend to foreign countries – infuse tax dollars to hand picked companies that happen to support his election effort – bows to other country leaders – place the race card at his convenience – takes record level vacations at the tax payers expense – works fewer hours than any previous POTUS…etc… there’s probably a lot to criticize. By the way, what credibility does a exploitative, entertainment ambulance chaser like Jerry Springer have…really?

      This is my conception of Springer after watching a portion of his TV show many years ago. I couldn’t believe anyone in their right mind would watch such filth and hatefulness that I saw. NOPE!
      Jerry Springer can’t be a person in his right mind after his years of this kind of indoctrination on his shows and actually being a party to it.

      Newt Nutwich keeps saying that Obama has more people on food stamps than any other President. But what he does not explain is that, when Barack took office in 2008, there were over 1.7 million American citizens who would be laid off in the next three months. People who had worked all their adult lives were now unemployed, looking for work and found that they needed to feed their familes. It’s a good thing that we had a compassionate President who was not thinking like Conservatives think when someone is unemployed. ((THAT THEY ARE LAZY AND LOOKING FOR HAND OUTS) That is all you mean weird evil people can think of when you hear about a person receiving public assistance.

      Then you tried to analyze what RACE is benefitting from it the most. And then in the same breath say it’s NEVER ABOUT COLOR OR RACE. Lying to yourself, is not going to fool others.       Carlson is right. They do, generally present both sides of a topic, but throughout the show Duecy consistently doles out smarmy, anti-Obama or anti-Demcocrat jabs. He does not help with the image that the libs have of Fox News that it is all Obama bashing, all the time. I suppose there are a lot of people that like to hear that from Duecy. I’m not one of them.

      On the other hand, Duecy’s irritating (to me) comments pale in comparison to the daily, full-blown, anti-conservative rants that you can see on either CNN and MSNBC opinion shows, or for that matter, ABC, NBC and CBS newscasts.

The beacon of Journalism, the National Enquirer was the only source both to break the John Edwards and Barack Obama marital infidelity stories. “Now that had to be hard news”. Katie Couric always last in the ratings now sat alone pondering her demise. Towards the end of her career she now had just two viewers, both relatives. The studio lights at ABC had already faded to black.

    Chrissy Matthews went into a stupor. Who would now give him a tingle down his leg. He had fallen totally in love with the man-child, Barack Hussein Obama. Chrissy said in the past that “I will do anything to make this young president successful.” We did not know this meant lying, burying information harmful to his man and other anti-American activities. Chrissy’s love affair with Obama was over. Never again will he have an Obamagasm.

    It would be cool if all networks would just admit what everyone else knows…That they do lean in an ideological direction.

    It would also be cool if they could get people with opposing views that are actually intelligent. I mean…Alan Colmes? Bob Beckel? Juan Williams? Really? I want to hear the opposing side’s arguments, not just idle rhetoric of the type we can read in comments here. The other side does it too, I mean Morning Joe? Does the left really think that he represents the conservative view?

      They aren’t intellectual, or they would notice. I’ve been around liberals that passed themselves off as brilliant my entire life. Not a single one of them actually were. They all 100% relied on their daddy’s money, some minority program that gave them the answers to tests to bring with them to turn in on test day, bought papers online, hired others to write their papers for them, they always cheat their way through life. I made a handy amount in high school taking the act for liberals. I took it 17 times, sadly I only made a 34 the only time I took it for myself, 14 of the other 16 times I scored a 36. Most of these guys got better scholarships than I did, but I had the last laugh as most lost them after a semester or 2.

      There is no denying that Fox is agenda driven, just as all of the news outlets are.

      Now that the primaries are going, they pretty much avoid anything that places the anointed one (Romney) in a bad light.

      Take his position regarding the NDAA, which is the most despicable piece of legislation that has passed in my lifetime. Where on earth is O’Reily, Hannity, ect?

    Fox News has sunk down to the level of the Springer show anyway. I never watch them anymore. They are just too biased. Biased against Ron Paul, for instance. They are just another piece of the MSM.
