Jerusalem Post: ‘Jon Voight Slams Palestinian Terror at Glenn Beck Event’

There were many themes and messages for journalists to chronicle at the Monday evening “Courage to Remember” event at Jerusalem’s Old Train Station. But it’s the remarks by actor Jon Voight that seem to be drawing a great deal of attention — particularly if you read the coverage in the Jerusalem Post.

Voight, who is not Jewish, praised Israel and the Jewish people in his speech. He made reference to suicide bombings and to the March 11 slayings of the Fogel family in Itamar.

“How have we come to a time when blowing up babies and cutting their throats are an acceptable means to a political goal?” Voight asked.

“I feel complete contempt for anyone not intelligent enough to see that the media propaganda portraying the Palestinians as victims endangers the state of Israel.

“We are facing a new holocaust, and people of all faiths must demand that the truth be heard. The Palestinian radicals have only one prayer on their lips: To remove every Jew from Israel.”

Voight received a standing ovation for saying “We will not bend to terrorism in any way, shape, or form for the sake of peace.”

Voight has been a presence throughout the Restoring Courage week. He attended the first night’s event at Caesarea. He spoke to many fans and answered questions from reporters.

In his speech Monday night, Voight recounted his lively conversation with Glenn Beck, saying that talking to Glenn was sometimes like jumping in a river — “you never know where you are going to end up.”

Finally, someone with the respect of millions of people around the world, who will tell the truth about what is happening in the middle east. I had my eyes opened in 1965 in Aden when, as a young sailor, I was only a few feet from an RPG explosion. A terrorist (although they weren’t called that then) fired it into the the back wall of the women’s public changing room on the beach. I guess the thought that women would change into a one piece bathing suit was too much for this ‘man.’

Maybe some muslins imans will wake up and start getting rid of the radicals. Doubt it because they are the ones that are quickly killed. This is a holy war brought on completely by the muslins.

  Jon Voight is one of the few celebrities who has not been sold out. This is a good man. He has had the courage to stand for what is right. May God bless both him and Glenn and all of the people on this mission.

  Gods word, and the Holy Spirit clearly directs our attention to Jesus Christ for our salvation. To exclude Jesus Christ while Honoring God is dividing Israel, as if only thoughts of standing with a Jewish person will save you.
  
  Your faith is to be with Jesus Christ in order to be saved and loved by God. Revelation states, not all of Israel will be saved, because they are without Christ.

You honestly believe that, if Israel laid down their arms and tried to make peace, that they would be met with open arms? No, they would be met by a rocket to the face.

  God made a covenant with the Hebrews. He is faithful to His covenants even if we are not. Yes the Jews need Christ to be saved, but that does not mean that they are no longer His chosen people or that He will ignore his covenants with them. You are correct that supporting Israel will not earn anyone salvation. Christ is the only means of salvation. Supporting Israel is not salvation, but it is supporting God’s people, and acknowledging God’s covenant with them, and thereby reaping the benefits of God’s promises to those who do so. As far as the message of the anti-christ? Anti-christ sets himself up as god, he does not point others to or acknowledge any god except himself. Besides that, if God can speak through Balam’s donkey, he can speak through you, and he can speak through Beck.

  Thanks to Jon Voight for taking a stand for good. Many years ago I used to go to a health spa east of San Diego and had to pass a very visible mosque next to freeway. Back then, I wasn’t even sure what it was and had to ask. Every time I passed it, I had a very fearful feeling that evil was lurking behind those walls. It made me shiver. I didn’t even know what a muslim or what a mosque actually was, but I knew it was evil because of the feeling I got. I still shiver thinking about that incident 35 years ago.

  Rose-I have read your remarks many times. It is so sad how you refuse to see the truth. In one breathe say all they want is for Israel to go back to the 1967 borders, and then you acknowledge that they never wanted Israel to be there from the beginning. By your own remarks you prove that the issue is not the 1967 borders but the fact that Israel exists. There was no peace prior to the 1967 border expansion and there has been no peace after. Therefore, the 1967 borders are not the issue. The existence of Israel is the issue. You acknowledge it but yet you still believe that Israel is the problem. If say the Mexican cartels finally take over the Mexican government, spew out propaganda that blamed the US for all the people’s turmoil , and convinced them that all they need to do is get ‘their’ land back to fix their woes and wage terroristic attacks on the US, would the USA be right in fighting back, pushing the border even further south and taking even more land (my vote is to the panama canal)? Meaning countries can wage wars and protect themselves whenever they want and do not really have to answer to anyone. The USA, Egypt . . .   drug cartels taking over the mexican government and calling to reclaim historically important territory is an excellent parallel to the israel-palestine conflict. it would absolutely not be just for the mexican government to make those types of calls; maybe at one point a few hundred years ago, their brethren did control that territory and perform religious rituals, but that in now way means that we are obligated to give into their demands. we have our own modern claim to the territory, that while our ancestors may have committed atrocities to gain, we have built peaceful and good lives in.
  similarly, israel was taken over by a small group of extremely violent militant settlers starting in the 1980s, attached to gush emunim and the jewish underground. before 1967, no israeli, even the orthodox, made a claim to the west bank (’judea & sumaria’). now they think that just because some historical myth says that the god of abraham gave them that land, they have every right to oppress, abuse, and humiliate the palestinians? maybe they weren’t there for 3,000 years, but they have built peaceful, good lives in that territory; at least until the late 1800s. food for though

I’m so used to PC speak, that all through Jon’s speech, I was saying, “oooo, Jon, no,“ ”ooowwww, you can’t say that!” Then I remembered – this is all about restoring courage. Jon was the epitome of courage yesterday in his speech. I THOUGHT I was brave till this event started and I learned how weak I am inside as I watch these speeches and the video. Beck said his Israel time was life changing. I think it is for a lot of us too.

  @Tower7 Glenn is obsessed with them now because Glenn reads the Bible. People who are into God enough to read the Bible (which is the blueprint for life) know that the Israel is where God chose to be. He was born into this tribe of people as Jesus;Yeshua. THe reason He chose them was because they were the only ones to accept His laws…the 10 commandments. That is why Jesus came. John 3:16 For God loved the world so much that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. The Bible tells us to stand by Israel, and gives the reasons that Her eyes have not yet been opened. Israel is of the true branches of the God. We as Christians are adopted. Not all of Israel will be saved if they continue in their unbelief, but we as Christians must witness to them and stand by them because that is what God commands. He is my Father. I will obey.

  you people really opened my eyes. i didn’t know that i controlled hollywood and the lamestream media. i didn‘t know i wasn’t american (though i thought i was b/c i was born here). it kind of came as a shock to me that i’m a communist, and i wasn’t even aware i supported abortion or the murder of 48,000,000 babies. insane.
  
  i’d hug a terrorist, but that‘s not really all that kosher where i’m from. it’s hard to tell one from the other. you see, on occasion people in military uniforms come and shoot into crowds of students. it’s a dilemma. they don’t all just speak arabic all the time.
