Jets Coach Calls Report of Foot-Fetish Videos a ‘Personal Matter’

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — New York Jets coach Rex Ryan says it’s a “personal matter” and declined to talk about a “foot-fetish” report posted by the sports website Deadspin that show four videos of a woman who bears an uncanny resemblance to Ryan’s wife, Michelle.

The videos show a woman displaying her toes to an off-screen cameraman who sounds a lot like the coach. The two are having an intimate chat about her feet.

Asked about it during a conference call Wednesday, Ryan said he is “not really going to discuss it.”

This isn’t the first time the Jets have turned up on Deadspin this season.

In October, the site reported that Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre sent racy text messages and photos to a former game hostess while he was the Jets’ quarterback in 2008.

The NFL is still investigating the allegations.

Eh, so what’s the big deal? They are grown adults, married to each other and he likes her feet. Good for both of them! There is no dirt here media.

The Blaze is not the one making news out of a non-story, they didn’t ask about the foot fetish. I think what makes The Blaze story is that the coach is basically saying it‘s nobody’s business – and he’s right!

The coach is doing it all wrong — he ought to demand that his sexual proclivity be accepted by all and taught in the schools. Maybe he should form some sort of coalition ( The Painted Toenail Coalition or Foot Fungus Group ) and proclaim his way of life is genetic and deserving of special treatment.
Some enlighten author could write childrens books that would be featured on Oprah who would demand that these people be given the right to marry and not be discriminated against. ( While her highly intelligent audience weeps and hopes for some handout ) And what hell there would be to pay if the military were to not allow these fine, decent individuals the right to serve their country openly with their proud feet. Oh you bigots and podiatfiles are nothing but a bunch of right-wing Christians who deserve to be trampled by those lovely feet.

    ALERT…ALERT…ALERT:

The stories will not open if you don’t click on either the picture or the headline. Kind of the same thing as TV’s and radios have buttons or knobs to change channels/stations and turn them on or off. Don’t like the story; move on. Don’t like the site; move on. Just because I choose not to read a particular story doesn’t mean everyone (or someone) else feels the same. If you think you have a better idea for a new web site open it. We’re still free to do so for the time being.

Ask any guy and he will tell you he’s either a butt-man, chest-man, etc. I don‘t see what is newsworthy about this story other than that it’s Ryan a NFL coach. Who cares…if this is between him and his wife so be it. Yet, again you NEVER put anything on video, photos, writing…..stupid!

But if the bone head or his wife up-loaded to Utube or something he is dumb as a box of rocks and knew this was coming to him.. oh well the Jets seem like they are full of it with all the crap flying around them. I guess I just like watching people abandon their individuality and self-respect by rabidly defending every single facet of this site no matter what. My favorite part is when people baselessly call me a leftist, thereby watering down the term and discrediting themselves. I also enjoy being called an idiot (or more accurately “a idiot”) by people who can’t spell.

I prefer to be a guy who viciously defends Glenn Beck (and this site) when it matters, not all the time… you should try it out. You’ll find people treat you like a reasoned human being rather than an unquestioning, unthinking, drooling “fan”. You know how you view most Obama supporters? That’s how they view many of us too, and who can blame them? Five minutes of poking around here is all they need to justify their beliefs.

Half the time when I read comments here, I feel like I’m at Huffington post or Organizing for America; what’s with all the zombification? It’s embarrassing. Speculation, philosophy, wargaming, debate, and even being wrong is applaudable. Compulsory support is just sad.

It’s OK to disagree with things on this site, you know. Some of you may think this stuff degrades its integrity, while others may not. I started out defending this it (such as the urinating ****** story), but it’s getting to the point where stories like this are rivaling the important ones with their regularity. I know servers are expensive and you have to maintain high traffic etc, but come on… it‘s to the point where I don’t want to say “go to The Blaze” anymore.

This place started out as a heavyweight watchdog site pounding the truth into people and attacking the state-controlled media, but what has it become? It looks like Entertainment Tonight or MSN some days. Beck should set aside a (comparatively tiny) percentage of his profits to fund the slack invariably created by not reporting trash as filler material. I know it’s a pain, but I think it’s more profitable in the long run; you can’t buy credibility. Well… even though that‘s what you’d be doing, in a sense. Paying to maintain it.

Even better, why not replace this tripe with user write-ins, fundraisers, or local stories virtually nobody else is reporting? I see stuff in my local paper every day that’s better than this. It would make people feel involved, and bring everyone closer together. Surely people here have plenty of experiences that are far worthier of being posted on The Blaze than this crap. I’ve read more relevant things on the back of a cereal box.

The site is named “The Blaze”… anyone remember the reason for this name? Don‘t you feel it’s kind of disrespectful and self-aggrandizing at this point? A little pretentious?

Ludwika: You can be as mean as you want. I still like most of your posts… including this one; it’s nice to know you consider me to be at least one notch above feet. ;)

Ah yes, I remember when it was new and fresh, oh how so long ago it was. Time does fly, but it feels like it was just a few months ago…wait, no, it was just about four months ago.

While I know Mr. Beck seems to make a large amount of money in comparison to most, we do not know how his money is invested. He has stated that with the coming of the new year that “The Blaze” will launch fully as what it was originally planned. The launch this year was earlier than planned, my suspicion to capture on the media frenzy surrounding 8/28, and the word being spread. Whether or not that is true, it was a wise decision, and as a businessman I would have done the same.

I do feel that some stories deserve not to be on this site, but as long as they are true and not blasting propaganda, this is still one of the better sites for what it covers. Unfortunately, I have seen great stories importance lessened, because they took a video from a source that seemed to have a bias towards anti-Obama. Additionally, stories like the bunny suit reporter…seriously, WTH is with that 3rd video?

I do agree with much of what you say, but I give this site until the end of January, as Glenn has given his word that the site was going to launch fully at the beginning of the new year. If it doesn’t…well, many other news sites/organizations can relish as Glenn’s own words will be consumed by “The Blaze.” Until then, this other junk is just filler; the cake and pie that goes with the ice cream, but I am starting to get a headache, and need to switch back to the main course and the real meat.

Yeah, he absolutely used 8/28 to get the word out… only an idiot would waste that kind of exposure, so I agree. Job well done. And during the rally they upgraded the server for the live stream and ran tons of awesome stories that tore the throat out of the opposition. It was definitely one of the biggest website launches I can remember. Even Myspace and Facebook were slow and had to be pimped by the MSM constantly, to the point of integrating them right into their format. The Blaze was like a rocket. Obviously it hasn’t gone as high as either of those sites, but the acceleration was much faster. The Blaze was fully cached by Google within hours, and in days was being cached practically in realtime. I could post a comment, Google it, and find it right away. That’s unreal. It also says something about Google / the Obama admin to me… like they take this site seriously and are watching like hawks. Google is getting slower not faster, so that says something about their priorities. If The Blaze makes a big mistake, they want to make sure they INSTANTLY have their hands on it.

[[I do feel that some stories deserve not to be on this site, but as long as they are true and not blasting propaganda, this is still one of the better sites for what it covers. Additionally, stories like the bunny suit reporter…seriously, WTH is with that 3rd video?]]

I agree, at least this site has stayed far away from propaganda… apart from the “Hacker Group Anonymous Sends Open Letter to Glenn Beck” which was an absolute disgrace, and what really got me to this point I’m at now. I didn’t mind the odd trivial story, but that (completely fallacious) article sent up a red flag for me. It told me this site is in danger of becoming a joke. It was getting sloppy and sensational. That wouldn’t mean the stories were all lies by any means, but it seriosuly degrades the image. If Beck is truly as smart as he seems, he’d recognize this fact and shore this place up in a hurry. It makes for “bad optics” as the idiots in the MSM say. It’s starting to resemble a tabloid.

Regarding the anti-Obama sources: I agree, you have to be careful where you go for info if you want to stay credible and unbiased. Just one small example I can attest to is the original YouTube background I made for myself. It mocked Obama… as much as I liked it, it was rude and childish. I learned quickly that I’d have much better discussions with liberals if I had a neutral background. So, off it came. And it has made a difference already; I no longer look like a “racist” (as mocking anyone other than a white man is a faux-pas to liberals) and there’s room for actual discussion now.

I’m just some guy online… I can afford to get lazy. Glenn can’t. Ever since he turned into Mahatma Glenndi I’ve noticed he dusts his hands clean, leaves, and lets Stu, Pat & The Blaze do the screaming and yelling for him. Sometimes I think he gives them talking points. Lately though, I wonder if he even looks at The Blaze as it clashes with everything else he does. He’s goofy, but this is beyond that… it’s sleazy and cheap. I can see Stu & Pat doing it (such as More On Trivia) but The 4th Hour is in the background and that’s just their thing. This site is supposed to be a credible, frontline resource for people and a tool to convert visitors. It’s supposed to promote the truth, liberty, and responsibility. All you have to do is play audio of Glenn’s announcement of the site while looking at the front page. There‘s a huge contrast between what you’re seeing and what you’re hearing.

You said it best: Bunny suits?

[[I do agree with much of what you say, but I give this site until the end of January, as Glenn has given his word that the site was going to launch fully at the beginning of the new year. I see exactly where you’re coming from, but am a firm believer in first impressions as well as lasting ones when it comes to business ethics. It really didn’t last long around here, and it’s a shame. It’s better to run no story than one that makes you look like pop-culture trash. Even if they need filler, there’s much better stuff than this out there. Even current clips from his show! Or “flashbacks”. Links to old Glenn Beck clips from radio and TV. Recaps, updates, “where are they now” stuff. There’s a mountain of information literally at their fingertips in an archive that they could be putting out. All they have to do is search a current event keyword into the Mercury Radio archive, and they’ll see if Glenn said anything about it in the past. They have missed lots of opportunities to say “I told you so”. There‘s also stuff new listeners haven’t heard, and more everyone else forgot from information overload.

I dunno, I just get disheartened because there are so many great options they don’t seem interested in. It’s just strange to me. I’d be so proud of this website, and terrified of making it a joke. As it is, every time I visit I feel encouraged to say something senseless and rude. The stories really do set the tone, so they need to put more thought into them. Just my opinion.

Thanks for the discussion, man. Good stuff!

      N37BU6,

Well, I will not hold Glenn directly responsible for each and every article on its own, as he is a very busy man, and an article here and there is no problem as interesting side news, but each article on this site hits the front page. He is not the editor, and that is who is to blame, however, the trend over time can easily be attributed to Glenn as the owner.

While I agree in being “firm believer in first impressions as well as lasting ones,” in the age of the internet, you can overhaul your image in the click of a button. I look at http://www.glennbeck.com and compare it to this, and I have faith that this will change as he had stated. This is just the Beta version of “The Blaze” to me, and it isn’t a bad Beta. I just hope they learned in these past 4 months, and don’t keep it as it is.

It was a good discussion, as I like talking with people who agree with Glenn, but are not just puppets, without any thought other than his. The worst & best thing about this site is the discussion, and it has gone down hill because of those who are puppets for and against Glenn.
