MIAMI (AP) — Authorities say rapper Sean Kingston is hospitalized after a crashing a personal watercraft into a Miami Beach bridge.
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission spokesman Jorge Pino says Kingston and a female passenger were injured when the watercraft hit the Palm Island Bridge around 6 p.m. Sunday. Pino says both were hospitalized early Monday at Ryder Trauma Center, but he didn’t know their conditions.
Pino says authorities are investigating the crash, and “nothing at this point would indicate that alcohol played a role.”
A representative for his label Epic Records confirmed early Monday that Kingston was in a crash and “was now stabilized.” No further information was provided.
Kingston rose to fame with his 2007 hit “Beautiful Girls” and was also featured on songs by artists including Justin Bieber.

Posted on May 31, 2011 at 12:25ama lot of you people have really bad comments to say. 2 people were seriously hurt! regardless of how you feel towards these people, they were enjoying the day and may never be the same. Speaking as a person whose brother has a brain injury I find half these comment completely horrible. I hope the Karma bus isn’t coming your way anytime soon. I like this website but seriously these people are way off base

Posted on May 31, 2011 at 4:03pm@RICHKAT519: ” I like this website but seriously these people are way off base.” Agreed. I used to like the Blaze but lately the people are getting way “out there.” with some of these posts. I don’t know if its because the site is becoming more popular and the reader base is growing beyond “Beck Fans” or if its because as time goes on these readers are showing their true colors more and more. After reading through these comments its seems the general attitude here is “Hip Hop artists = automatically bad guy.”

Posted on May 30, 2011 at 10:44pmWell, let’s hope it knocked some sense into him. They’re having Hip Hop Weekend on South Beach again this Memorial Day weekend. But I think the official name for it is “Urban” weekend or something like that. Whatever they call it, the “crazies” are there, fighting, shooting, destroying and doin’ their Thug Thing. Meanwhile, from what a friend tells me, most residents stay indoors and give up their streets to the invading hoards. Politicians are happy. They claim the mantle of being inclusive in the name of diversity. Meanwhile havoc reigns supreme. How much longer is America going to cower in the face of destructive miscreants for fear of being branded racist? When will we find anti-social behavior to be UNACCEPTABLE? When will we GROW A PAIR?

Posted on May 30, 2011 at 8:52pmI am a sailor. Where I sail most often they are called lake-lice (PWC/Jetskis). They are among the most ignorant on the water. I almost had a guy on a PWC put a hole in the starboard side of my sailboat once. It scared him but I fear not enough to learn better sense.

Posted on May 30, 2011 at 7:20pmThis was a sad story to see but it‘s good to hear they’re OK. I’ve never really listened to Sean Kingston, but the one or two times I did, he was enjoyable. At the moment, I can’t recall hearing anything bad about him. In another article I read, it is mentioned that he refuses to use profanity in his music because that’s not the type of performer he wants to be – something very different from most of the hip-hop performers out there. While it is possible he did not exercise good judgment while riding his jet-ski, I hope he gets better. I also hope that the posters here at the Blaze can exercise better judgment before putting up a post.
Look, there are many things we may agree/disagree on, and we can say what we want, but responsibility is also key. Always remember that.

Posted on May 30, 2011 at 12:16pmWhy don’t people just bail off a jet ski before they hit an immovable object like a bridge? More people get hurt on these every year because they are completely clueless about how to drive them. Some get on these personal water craft who don’t even know how to swim. I mean, how do you not notice you are headed straight for a bridge?
