GOP Jews Offer Some Assessments of Obama: ‘Train Wreck,‘ ’Con Man’ & ‘Certainly No Friend to Israel’

American Jews Slam President Obama on His Devotion to Israel

How well is President Barack Obama faring among American Jews? This is a question that continues to be asked and one that the Blaze has extensively examined over the past few months. As the election draws nearer, the Jewish vote will be one, among many, that contenders on both sides of the isle will be vying for.

With Obama winning 78 percent of the Jewish vote in 2008, some wonder what 2012 — especially in light Obama’s call for 1967 borders and developments in the Middle East — may hold.

Recently, Accuracy in Media’s Benjamin Johnson interviewed attendees of the Republican Jewish Coalition Conference in Washington D.C. Unfortunately for Obama, they didn’t have too many accolades to offer. Below, find some of the highlights from their assessment of Obama’s presidency:

“Barack Obama is an absolute train wreck.”

“I think President Obama threw Israel under the bus — long ago. Not just recently.”

“I think that he’s a con man.”

“He’s certainly no friend to Israel.”

“I don‘t see him doing anything that’s going to make the world a safer place.”

“For an American president to tell Israel what it’s borders should be, is really incomprehensible.”

“Certainly, he’s up there with Jimmy Carter.”

Among the comments filmed by AIM were some strong words from the Hon. Sam Fox, the U.S. ambassador to Belgium from 2007 until 2009. Fox hammered Obama on a number of fronts, lamenting his leadership skills and claiming that his presidency could endanger the nation’s very existence.

“He has never held a job in his life. He’s never been trained for a job. He doesn‘t have any idea what he’s doing and you can see that reflected in everything he does,” Fox said. “Regulation after regulation after regulation — strangling business. I can go on forever. If we get Obama for five more years, we may not have a country.”

This, of course, isn’t the first time the Jewish allegiance to Obama and the Democrats has been shown to be potentially shaky. In July, a Gallup poll was released that showcased a slight reduction in support among the Jewish cohort. In June, 60 percent of Jewish Americans gave the president a favorable rating. This was down from 68 percent in May and 64 percent in April.

While this may not have been a bombshell finding, in 2009 Obama held an 83 percent approval rating among Jews. Clearly, there was a notable decline. It was also in July that political operative Dick Morris showed concern over Obama’s ability to fare well among Jewish voters.

Still, the media has contended — or at least pondered — that Obama may be one of the most friendly U.S. presidents to Israel in recent memory. In September, New York Magazine wondered whether Obama is “the first Jewish president.” Additionally, the Jewish Forward more recently selected Obama to appear among the paper’s annual list of the most influential Jews (he was one of the non-Jews that the media outlet selects each year).

Despite these honors, the president has apparently been trying to solidify the Jewish vote, causing some to wonder if his campaign is sensing some vulnerability. But being caught on an open mic allegedly blasting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu didn‘t seem to do much to damage Obama’s support among Israelis, as a recent poll from the Saban Center for Middle East Policy poll shows a sizable increase in their support for the president.

Politico explains:

In 2011, 39 percent say they have a negative opinion of Obama, another far cry from his 2010 numbers when 51 percent said they were not fans of Obama. That’s a net 25-point upswing for Obama in Israel.

Earlier this month, the Blaze reported on Obama’s own self-congratulatory statements regarding his work to help make Israel more secure. “I try not to pat myself too much on the back, but this administration has done more for the security of the state of Israel than any previous administration,” he said.

We’ll have to wait until November 2012 to see if American Jews do, indeed, agree with this assessment. Clearly, those at the Republican Jewish Coalition Conference did now. Until then, Obama will likely continue to try and nab as much support from American Jews as possible.

    It’s nice to see coverage of conservative Jews beyond highly negative pieces in places like CNN. Personally, I found those interviewed to be quite generous in their remarks about Obama. For years our small number has been increasing, albeit at a snail’s pace. It seemed that only a miracle would increase the number of Jewish conservatives substantially. Thank you, Mr. Obama!

      It was a good attempt but that doesn’t fly here. The ‘Israeli News’ that you’re referring to is left wing propaganda tool. I agree that a majority of Israelis want a treaty and so do a majority of Palestinians and so does Netanyahu. I do believe that there are things happening behind the scenes that some people don’t want us to know about, however, I do not believe they have anything to do with Netanyahu or a majority of our leaders here in the States. Having said that, I‘d have to disagree with you’re conspiracy about bankers and war profiteers. Yes, they want power and money but why would they go to such convoluted lengths to attain such? Israel and America’s alliance is important for both sides. It‘s difficult because I want to get out entangling alliances but we are so deep at the present moment that it’s better to be with and for them than to get out altogether. Anyway, good luck spewing your propaganda but that doesn’t easily slide with this crowd.

      I don’t see where you are getting your information from. He is difinatelly anit-jewish. He, for what ever reason, has nothing to do with the Jews. I feel that it is his relationship with Rev. Wright and his father also being a Muslim. He is intent on destroying this country and so far he has done a good job of that. The old traditional ways are not working any more.       Israel may not be the friend you think they are. I think the way the Jews here vote pretty much reflects the feelings of the people within Israel. In other words, their interests may be far different than ours. Remember, they have spied on us several times and the Goldbergs sold our nuclear secrets to the USSR. They gave the Russians the H-bomb. The interests of Israel are far different and much conflicting with ours. I do not believe in the apocalyptic view of Israel today. I think it is just another small country in a very big world. We should treat it like any other middle eastern country. They all appear to be run by criminal organizations, kind of like the democratic party. Oh, I get it now, that is why the democrats get along so well with middle eastern countries(not that they do).

      To satisfy your curiosity, German Jews saw Hitler for what he was early on and by the time the Holocaust started to get bloody about 60% of German Jews had left the country (my grandparents were among them). Being German, they saw it coming before anyone else. It also helped that US immigration quotas specifically favored Germans; Poles weren’t so lucky.

      Believe me, being a conservative Jew (who never approved nor voted for Obama) I find the position of many of my fellow Jews quite frustrating. In general I have noticed that Orthodox Jews (the more traditional ones) tend to be more conservative in ideology. Conservative Jews like the one quoted here vary in observance and opinion. Most of the Reform Jews and secular Jews seem to lean towards socialism and they are unfortunately the majority of Jews in this country.

      The reason Jews like their children to marry within the faith (an idea held more commonly by the more observant Jews) is to stave off assimilation. Historically the tendency of Jews to assimilate in peaceful times has often been as much if not more of a threat to their existence than antisemitism. For example, on my dad’s side of the family, most of our relatives have intermarried and as a result my brothers and I are the few Jewish descendants left. I don’t even have a single Jewish first cousin.

I cannot express my outrage at the treatment of Israel and its people by this administration. As countries go “We the people” could never find a more steadfast friend. Please stand together with the taxpayers and patriots in the 2012 election as we have stood and still stand with you.

    I am a Christian who has nothing but respect and admiration for the Jewish People and our ONLY friend in the Middle East, iSRAEL! As a former combat veteran and current American patriot I would support and defend Israel a lot more than Obama defends our country. Obama is an abomination and will go down in history as the worst of all US Presidents. He is a cockroach, a phoney, a liar, and should have been impeached, tried for treason, and imprisoned for the rest of his wretched life. Just my humble opinion…God bless Israel!       Yes, you are absolutely right. He is a Muslim/Marxist who has infiltrated the White House and our government. One recent favoritism toward Muslims I question is that Drone plane. Does anyone wonder how Iran got a hold of this plane? Iran claims this Drone was shot down by them, and yet, the Drone looks flawless. How can this be? How do we know if Obama arranged it to accidentally purposely give Iran easy access to this drone and thus our military technology? Why are these Drones not made to self destruct when in the hands of the enemy? Why is the media not looking into this? I think Glenn should look into this.

      MOMRULES there is a great article op- ed on israelnationalnews.com “where european anti americaisim and anti semitisim meet” it explains a little about the progressives.It is worth reading to understand why europe is against us the progressives there and here are on the same page,yes we are in the way among other reasons .

      ROSSPOLDARK: I’ve wondered about that drone as well. My instincts tell me that someone in the administration gave the Iranians the details about the drones control links, it didn’t crash, it wasn’t shot down … it was landed. They simply took over the flight controls and landed it, safe and sound. The way I understand what has been reported in the media is these drones have programming that makes them fly home if the link is severed, that program would not execute if the control link was simply pirated by another transmission source that it thinks is legitimate. The only way that will happen is if they were given the information necessary to take it over. Something to think about. Another possibility is that Iranian hackers broke into Boeing servers and stole the information, that I suppose is also possible, next to the Chi-comms, the Iranians are the most active hackers aimed at DoD and DoD contractors sites.

    I think the assessment is accurate. Maybe I’m partly Jewish or maybe I just have common sense. Obama’s proven what the world is like when an anti-Semitic Marxist is in charge of the US, regardless of my thoughts. It is what it is. Obama, through his “leadership” has brought us here. For the sake of mankind, he should be defeated in the elections in the next presidential election.
