Jimmy Carter Gives Obama Advice on How to Win Reelection: Don’t Alienate Voters in First Term

ATLANTA (The Blaze/AP) — Former President Jimmy Carter has some advice for Barack Obama as he gears up for the 2012 election: Don’t alienate voters with controversial positions.
The Georgia Democrat told The Associated Press on Tuesday that just about everything he did alienated voters, from sealing a treaty to hand over the Panama Canal to establishing diplomatic ties with China.
Carter said: “If your main goal is to get re-elected, avoid a controversial subject as much as you can in the first term.”
Carter also faced Democratic opposition from Sen. Ted Kennedy during his 1980 re-election bid, which he said was a big handicap that Obama won’t have.
The remarks came as Iowa residents cast the first votes of the 2012 presidential race to help determine Obama’s Republican opponent.

Posted on January 3, 2012 at 10:22pmI thought a few of you out there might find this amusing:
Obama is the shepherd I did not want, He leadeth me beside the still factories, He restoreth my faith in the Republican party, He guideth me in the path of unemployment for his party’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the bread line, I shall fear no hunger, for his bailouts are with me. He has anointed my income with taxes, My expenses runneth over. Surely, poverty and hard living will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in a mortgaged home forever.

Report Post »Obama has done much worse than kill soldiers.
1. He has killed our sovereignty by selling our economy overseas.
2. enslaved our children and grandchildren. Spent all of their allowance for the next 100 years.
3. Sold out our friends and allies, killed our ability to create and sustain energy, and has begun to gut our military.
4. The worst thing he has done, make us wish Bubba was back in office, at least the worst thing he did was get a hummer.

Posted on January 3, 2012 at 9:23pmWhat an egregiously undeserved reputation. Carter wasn’t just a “good man who got in over his head,” as critics say. He was in fact quite a good president.
He kept us out of endless wars. He protected the Alaskan wilderness (Sen. Gaylord Nelson (D) of Wisconsin once told me that “Carter was the greatest environmental president the country ever had.”) He promoted a visionary energy policy. He countered the Soviet military threat. And since he left office, he has persistently promoted the cause of peace around the world. The landmark Israeli-Egyptian peace treaty he fashioned remains in force today.

Hold Obama’s feet to the fire. His one and only high priority was to have send congress a balanced budget and he has not done a dam thing other than issue massive EOs, side step the Constitution and issue unfunded regulations that do not meet the intent of existing laws.
The government agencies should not accept it cause they will not get reimbursed for those illegal efforts.

Posted on January 4, 2012 at 2:47amCarter’s home state of GA, is going to require Obama to meet constitutional qualifications for eligibility before being allowed on the 2012 ballot!
Even assuming Obama’s was born in HI despite allegations by numerous experts that his birth certificate and social security number are fraudulent, his Kenyan father precludes Obama’s eligibility as a natural born citizen in violation of Article 2, Section 1.
This is confirmed by a logical reading of the Constitution; the 3rd Congress, “An act to establish an uniform rule of Naturalization; and to repeal the act heretofore passed on that subject,” 1/29/1795; 14th Amendment framer Rep.
