Jimmy Fallon: ‘I Was Embarrassed’ By the ‘Lyin’ Ass Bit**’ Bachmann Scandal

The dust has finally settled on the mini-firestorm that was “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” versus Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann. Fallon, who remained relatively silent during the recent drama that unfolded, is speaking out and expressing his embarrassment over the entire debacle.

As you’ll recall, house band The Roots played the song “Lyin’ Ass Bit**‘ when Bachmann walked out for a recent appearance on Fallon’s show. What followed was a back and forth that culminated in a series of apologies to the Minnesota congresswoman.

While Fallon didn‘t say much in the days following Bachmann’s appearance, he did send a goodwill tweet immediately following the uproar. In it, he expressed how thankful he was that she appeared on the program:

Jimmy Fallon Tells Brian Williams Bachmann Flap Embarrassed Him

On Monday evening, Fallon followed up on the tweet and told “Rock Center” host Brian Williams that he’s not proud of what occurred on the show. He went into detail, saying that he wished the incident would “go away.” When asked by Williams if Bachmann was right to claim that First Lady Michelle Obama would never be treated in the same manner, Fallon said:

“I guess so? Sure? I don’t think anyone… If it’s Brian Williams on our show, he should not be treated like that. I was embarrassed by that, and I wanted it to go away. I called her numerous times to apologize and then I didn’t hear back from her that day, so then I talked to her the next day and she said, [adopts Bachmann voice] ‘I had a kick on your show. I had a kick on your show. I just don’t know why [Roots bandleader] Questlove played [that song].’ I said, ‘I’m so sorry, and he’ll call and apologize. He’s been yelled at by his mother.’ … He felt bad, he felt really bad.”

Below, watch Fallon’s comments on “Rock Center”:

Directly following the incident, Questlove (of The Roots) bragged about it and was overtly proud of his actions. He has since changed his mind and admitted that sending the tweet wasn’t worth it. An NBC executive also apologized to Bachmann following the incident.

When asked by Williams if Bachmann was right to claim that First Lady Michelle Obama would never be treated in the same manner, Fallon said:….

Talk about a twisted question and turning the victim into the bad guy…most definitely Michelle Obama would never be treated as disrespectfully as Michele Bachmann was that night, nor would any liberal woman be treated that way. I liked Rush’s song he played for Michelle My Belle on his show shortly after this fiasco. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander.

Questlove, the band leader for The Roots, is heavily involved in “racial politics”. He is a liberal provocateur and plays the race card every chance he gets. He is the kind of person that cries racism while being a racist. So it does not surprise me that he would do something like this against a Republican white woman, or in his mind, the enemy.

I‘m not sure I’d call what happened sexism. Not exactly anyway. I think its more of a case of a complete lack of respect for women. Remove the social constraints (aka the fear of punishment) from the equation, and because its a conservative you inevitably see the true character of the band, Fallon, and the show producers emerge.

The underlying sexism lies in the fact that they felt free to blatantly disrespect her to her face, whereas with a male candidate they would probably have held back. When men aren‘t raised to respect women and women’s groups decide that only certain types of women are worth defending – this is the result.

Perhaps they are simply crass, equal opportunity offenders though. As soon as they have Barney Frank on the show and introduce him with ‘dancing queen’, I’ll give them credit for being consistent.

Moochelle would have actually walked over and slapped him, she would know what that song was, Barrack plays it every night for her.

Exactly…”Jimmy’s” band leader bragged about premeditating it on Twitter. It was planned..it wasn’t an “intro mess” it was a planned and executed insult to a guest who came on the show in good faith. If “Jimmy” had a pair he’d fire the cretin who instigated and bragged about it. But being the typical liberal eunuch “Jimmy” is, he’ll spin his little propellor on his hat and “tweet” his way through it.

      Right on.
These guys, it seems, all get their NBC-CBS etc… hall pass, sign their contract and then a deal with the freakin’ Devil. Letterman, Leno, all of ‘em, every last stinkin’ one of them is sucking of the Obama-Lefty teet. I appears as though they are simply not allowed to make any jokes, beyond really soft ball one’s, about Obama. Letterman actually said in April (or so) of 2009 that he was telling a Clinton joke because Obama hasn’t done anything to joke about. Wow.

EN: Just another one of your usual useless, juvenile, nasty Lefty comments. Name calling ? Perhaps a foreshadowing of the 2012 Campaign : Adding large doses of Alisnky Ridicule / Character Assassination to the old 2008 strategy of Blame Game and Race Card….. Have never seen Democrats stoop to such lowlife behavior.

Really ENCIDIOT? Why? So that we can have more mortgage meltdowns where people lose their homes and life savings thanks to the “good intentions” of “affordable housing”? How about Europe about to collapse under the weight of it’s own socialism? Idiot…you’re a loser just like your ideology.
