In the spirit of Ziggy Stardust himself, late night host Jimmy Fallon — dubbed for this episode, “Tim Tebowie” — delivered his rendition of “Space Oddity.”
Altering the lyrics to the famed David Bowie song, Fallon sings, “Tim Tebow to Jesus Christ.”
“This is Jesus Christ to Tim Tebow, please leave me alone. Don‘t you know my day of rest is Sunday and I’m sick of watching all these Bronco’s games!”
While many entertainers and pundits have delivered a barrage of low-blows to Tebow over his devout Christian faith, Fallon’s musical interlude seems to be keeping it all in good humor. Watch the clip below, courtesy of Late Night:

Posted on January 13, 2012 at 9:24amOnly Christianity gets mocked. We saw what happened when South Park tried to mock Islam:
Comedy Central has previously given Mr. Stone and Mr. Parker a certain free rein with “South Park.” In a July 2001 episode, “Super Best Friends,” Muhammad was depicted alongside the founders of other religions, including Krishna and Lao Tzu.
But in 2006, when “South Park” wanted to weigh in on a controversy that erupted after Jyllands-Posten, a Danish newspaper, published cartoons satirizing Muhammad, it was not given the same latitude: a character said to be Muhammad was concealed behind a large black box labeled “CENSORED.” The measure was taken by the “South Park” producers partly at the insistence of Comedy Central, and partly as a commentary on the network’s policy of not allowing them to show the character, which the episode equated with giving in to the demands of extremists.
In a new episode of “South Park” broadcast Wednesday on Comedy Central, Mr. Parker and Mr. Stone exercised a degree of self-censorship. In continuing the previous week’s story line about the Prophet Muhammad, that character was hidden underneath a “CENSORED” graphic, and an audio bleep was heard when his name was said.

Another mocking coward not so much of Tim but of God really. I find it utterly amazing these same people will sit a feign acceptance of so many other forms of faith/religion and immorality, but one guy comes along and shows his faith publicly like he is actually commanded to do and he is mocked, ridiculed, scorned by fellow players, booed and songs like this song about his show of faith.
It just goes to show you that there really must be a God, because no sane person would display such revulsion for something that does not exist.

Posted on January 13, 2012 at 1:19pmAs much as I find it deplorable, I actually have to defend Matt Stone and Trey Parker. They are “equal opportunity offenders”. As pointed out, any censorship of poking fun at other faiths has come to pass through pressure from the networks. Whether or not they are cowardly for buckling under the pressure is another matter. But the point is, if they had it their way, nobody would be safe. They make fun of EVERYONE! Christians, Jews, Muslims, Conservatives, Liberals, Blacks, Whites, environmentalists, pundits, and more have all fell victim to the show.

Posted on January 13, 2012 at 3:00amThat’s a shame. I actually USED to like Fallon on SNL. Now I could care less. Good night, Fallon, you had a shot and blew it.

Posted on January 13, 2012 at 4:15amSounds like you are taking your football and going home. :-) But seriously, isn‘t Tim Tebow’s narcissistic belief that Jesus cares so deeply about his football career far more offensive? Something to consider anyway.

Posted on January 13, 2012 at 8:30amsorry Sane, Tebow does not believe that God is really concerned with the game of football, nor that helps him win….try paying attention to what is actually going on instead of just listening to talking points and attacks….just sayin

Posted on January 13, 2012 at 11:11am@ sane man… Its not that Jesus gives a HOOT about Football, but the fact that TEBOW thanks him for every day and every breath WIN OR LOSE that makes Tebow AMAZING! TEBOW is a faithful servant of God and I would much raher my son look up to him than most other athletes. Whether the Broncos win or lose… Tebow has WON!
would all those that laugh at Tebow for praising Jesus Christ , laugh at a muslim for praising Allah?

Posted on January 13, 2012 at 2:18pmAh, but Tebow is NOT claiming God is winning games for him. He is claiming that any success he has is due to God’s grace. I’ve never seen anything where he claims Jesus cares about his (Tebow’s) career. Whenever someone poses such a question to him, he laughs at it, at the ridiculous idea that one man is that important.

Posted on January 13, 2012 at 2:46amI’m not religious.
I’m a believer.
I’m a fan of Christ…and Tebow (since he was a Gator…& I’m a Husker).
This was funny . . . but, I’m sick & tired of the Christian bashing.
I’m also sick & tired of Christians just sitting back & “taking it.”
NFL players have been “Tebowing” since the beginning of the NFL.
What’s the difference with Tebow?
Was it that 1 pro-life commercial that he & his Mom did?
What the hell was with that putrid audience cheering when “Tebowie” sang, “This is Jesus Christ to Tim Tebow: Please leave me alone.” (cheers & applause)
Wtf?
“Don‘t you know my day of rest is Sunday and I’m sick of watching all these Broncos games?”
Good thing the Broncos play on Saturday, I guess…
Go Broncos! ;)

Posted on January 13, 2012 at 2:40amCome on people that was funny and I enjoy a good laugh. Fallon is a hack but if you can’t laugh at yourself once in a while you are dead inside.

Posted on January 13, 2012 at 2:19amBTW, the article reads like the lyrics are from “Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars”, but in fact, that was a to the tune of “Space Oddity”.

Posted on January 13, 2012 at 2:13amComon! Gotta laugh! He may be a liberal hack of a comedian, but that was funny. We Christians gotta remember, God’s blessings OFTEN come from the oddest places.
Besides, I’m a big Bowie fan from way back.

Posted on January 13, 2012 at 2:21amI agree. As much as I detest all this Christian bashing this is actually pretty good. And old Bowie absolutely rocks. One of my close buddies from college grew up with fallon and says he’s actually a solid guy. Go Tebow!

Posted on January 13, 2012 at 1:46amMeh, it had a few funny parts but on the whole it wasn’t that funny to me. Much like a lot of what Jimmy Fallon does.
