Jindal Tells Beck: TSA Needs to ‘Move Away From Political Correctness’

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal has been in the news in recent weeks for his new book, “Leadership and Crisis,” which delivers an earnest critique of the Obama administration‘s response to last summer’s Gulf oil spill. Jindal also appeared on Meet the Press Sunday and criticized the federal government for playing defense and relying on luck to protect the nation from terrorists.
The federal government has to face the fact the War on Terror is about enemies who hate the U.S. way of life, not about social justice, he said.
“The reality is, this isn‘t about people who don’t have enough jobs, who don’t have enough social aid, this is about fighting an enemy that hates our way of life,” Jindal said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
“This is a fundamental clash of cultures. … This isn’t, well, let’s go and figure out a way to apologize for Americans. This isn‘t how we offended them because we’re supporting Israel,” he continued.
On Monday, Jindal phoned into the Glenn Beck Program to weigh in on the ongoing debate surrounding the nation’s airport security. The administration has made two fundamental mistakes, he said. “Number one, they are so focused on treating terrorists like citizens and citizens like suspects. They worry so much about the rights of the terrorists. Where are the rights for the average American? They need to move away from political correctness.”
“They continue to try to respond to this terrorist threat where they befriend impostor. Well, we got lucky with the underwear bomber, we got lucky with the Times Square bomber. We got lucky with the packages. Luck is not a strategy,” Jindal added.
Author’s note: A hearty ‘thank you’ to Gov. Jindal for his support of The Blaze!

Posted on November 22, 2010 at 10:33pmYou know what, this is all insanity. Look at it as a math problem. The object is to solve it. To make it easier what do you do? You always find the lowest common denominator. Then the problem isn’t so huge and complex. You make it workable. How are we trying to solve it now? What the terrorists have in common is that they are human and flying on a plane..too large of a denominator. We need to bring it down to their lowest common denominator and then we can solve this problem. Call it profiling all you want. I call it sanity.

Posted on November 22, 2010 at 11:56pmAMEN!! When older men and women, children, mothers, middle aged Caucasians, etc. are the ones carrying on bombs to blow up planes………seriously! Get to the lowest common denominator!
If it were white, skin-heads………do you think for a minute they wouldn’t “profile”? How about a “right wing extremist”? Yep, profiling would probably be perfectly acceptable. Political correctness—-anything there to pertain to/“protect” mainstream/majority American citizens?
We need to be alert and not naive about what we “follow” and “accept” from this administration. They’ve already proven their motives to be radical and revolutionary. (listened to MSNBC lately?!@)

Posted on November 22, 2010 at 9:50pmOriginally I was like “hey, go ahead and scan my privates, no big deal…”
However, now that I’ve had a chance to step back and look at the big picture, we are losing our 4th Amendment Rights and to allow the TSA to do this will set a precedent and this will open the flood gates for us to completely lose 4th amendment rights COMPLETELY…. In the end, you could be walking down the street and the police will be able to just go up, have you empty your pockets and they will be about to search you completely… in fact, it appears that suspects being frisked by the police before being arrested don’t get so intrusively fondled as people going through TSA security checks are…
This is what happens in history, time and time again in times of war, governments will take rights away from people “for their protection” but they never get them back ever….
We’ve crossed a very dangerous line with the Patriot Act and the fact that literally a federal employee can just look at you, announce you are a terrorist and you are wisked off to an undisclosed location, with no rights, no trial date, nothing…. that is already a VERY dangerous step down a very dark path, now we are losing our right to protection against illegal search and seizure. This government, this administration specifically is systematically dismantling the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
Congress needs to step in and make law on this issue, also it needs to pass some kind of law stating that NO agency — FCC, EPA, DEP, etc…. can circumvent Congress, right now we are on the verge of the FCC taking away private property rights of communication companies and over regulating them to squelch free speech through the Net Neutrality Act…. that again will lead us down a dark path, the next leg will be the Bias & Hate Ban Act rider of the Net Neutrality Act, whereby the FCC will dictate with shows can and can’t air or blogs post, sites be allowed to run, and I’m sure theblaze.com and foxnews.com would be the top sites on their hit-list.

You are correct, professional profilers are not currently working for TSA, and I am not privy to all of the proprietary trainning that they receive in order to qualify for service. From my limited understanding they operate completely different from the current TSA security, but are far more effective in catching real terrorist and only have to subject a small number of passengers to serious inspection, leaving the vast majority of passengers safe and untouched by very intrusive inspections.
