What does Sen. Joe Lieberman want this year for Hanukkah? A copy of Glenn Beck’s new book.
The Connecticut independent told The Hill he has his eye on Beck’s new best-seller, “Being George Washington: The Indispensable Man, As You’ve Never Seen Him.”
The Hill:
[W]hen pressed to divulge some material goods he plans to put on his holiday wish list, he paused before saying with a smile, “Well, actually, this is not a political statement. I’m fascinated in Glenn Beck’s new book about George Washington. I noticed it was on the best-seller list.”
Beck said he‘s thrilled with the senator’s choice, telling The Hill, “I’ve always thought that Sen. Lieberman was brilliant, but his choice in holiday gifts confirms it.”
“I just wish more of our politicians would follow his lead and be willing to look toward our Founders for guidance on how to address the issues we face today,” he said.
Lieberman, who said earlier this year he will not be seeking re-election in 2012, has been openly supportive of Beck’s defense of Israel.
For his part, Beck said he‘s hoping he might get Lieberman’s book, “The Gift of Rest: Rediscovering the Beauty of the Sabbath,” for Christmas.
And it looks like Lieberman will get his wish: Beck announced on his radio program Thursday that a copy of “Being George Washington” is en route to the senator.

Posted on December 16, 2011 at 9:45amHey Joe, as a CT resident, I voted for and re-elected you as an Independent. Then you screw us regular slobs, who live paycheck-to-paycheck, by shoving the death panel Obamacare down our throats, and tried to ram your American Power Act (Cap & Trade) up our butts. That would have, according to BHO, Doubled our Electric bills, and raised fuels to a minimum of $7/gal, according to the Belfer Inst.
Thank God you’re leaving politics-PERHAPS YOU CAN GET A $$Million/yr. JOB WITH DODD IN THE MOVIE BUSINESS? Or go to work in a bed & bath like me for $9/hr and NO BENNIES what-so-ever!
Joe, you’re pitiful!

Posted on December 16, 2011 at 2:36amLet me say this to the GBTV crew salivating over a politician endorsing a book (I have no malice towards anyone, not even politicians, however….):
Report Post »If you want to put Jesus first then rejoice in the person who scrapped together everything they had to buy this book only because the person(who bought the book) believes in this country and wants to be educated.
I love GBTV but salivating and wagging your tail for someone (Joe Lieberman) who has plenty of resources and is able to have a public forum to announce their wishes(buy Glenn’s book), goes against all of us common people who are doing everything we can to educate ourselves in order to participate in saving this country. Want to follow Jesus? Then celebrate the common individual. This idea of being so proud that Lieberman wants to read your book is very discouraging. I have nothing against Lieberman but so what if a man of power has chosen to read your book? When I watched the radio program and Glenn’s posture and face changed when he said Lieberman put his book on his wish list, Glenn acted as if he was finally getting a pat from a powerful politician! Celebrate the ones who are struggling but still are trying to stand for America! I know many who budgeted and bought this book so they could be more informed.

Posted on December 15, 2011 at 12:56pmA wonderful friend of mine just bought me Sen. Lieberman’s book for my birthday, I am excited to read it as a Christian to find out more about what Sabbath rest means. I just heard Sen. Lieberman talking with David Barton on the Wallbuilders podcast and I feel we are blessed to have someone of such faith as a leader in our government. There is almost nothing better to me than to see such genuine unity between people like Mr. Beck and Sen. Lieberman. God bless them both!

Posted on December 15, 2011 at 12:54pmI hope that Glenn will publish a children’s book based on Being George Washington. If he does, every young child in my large family will receive it as a gift from me. The older students are already going to get Being George Washington as Hanukkah and Christmas gifts.

Hanukkah is the celebration of Jews wining Jerusalem back.
Jews are trying to overshadow Christian Americans Christmas celebration. Yeah Jew, we invented American and made Christmas our own. We took out the pagan Catholic part and made it Protestant American.
Your brothers created Kwanza in hate of the white man in 1965. They do it in a feeble attempt to show their overbearing contempt at white Christian America. At least their official day starts the 26th.
I hate you both for this, who is going to take care of you when we are gone? No one in the world likes you save us and that is because your God is OUR God.

Posted on December 15, 2011 at 12:38pmI like Liebermann probably just as much as I like Ron Paul. I like some of their views and hate many of the others but they are always straight forward to you. I am grateful for Lieberman during this election because he has come out saying he doesn’t know if he could support Obama in 2012. ( http://www.americanparchment.com/video/2011/aug/lieberman_obama_support.html ) This is a man that I could see voting for a GOP candidate, he has spoken highly of all of them.

Posted on December 15, 2011 at 4:10pm@Brother Ed, I didn’t hear the “hate filled rhetoric” in Gary’s comments. Are you one of those people who describes anything you don’t agree with as “hate”? Weak…
It does seem like Glenn is pushing an agenda to me as well. The only candidates he likes are Santorem and Bachmann, both of whom have no chance. While he has continually hammered Newt Gingrich, and Ron Paul to a lesser degree. The only one he has not attacked is Romney. It does seem like he is steering his followers to Mitt, by default.
