John McCain Says U.S. Should Have Used More Force in Libya

Republican Sen. John McCain says the fighting in Libya might be over by now if the U.S. had used greater force against Moammar Gadhafi.  McCain is one of the strongest proponents in Congress of military intervention in Libya. He told “Fox News Sunday” that NATO is stepping up attacks but that he’s still not satisfied. McCain said:

“This thing could have been over a long time ago if we had brought the full weight of American air power to bear on him.”

The former 2008 presidential candidate believes that the United States’ slow movement is putting innocent lives in danger:

“…people are dying on the ground in Libya and they wouldn’t have to if we were using all of U.S. airpower and the abilities and the unique capabilities that the United States military has. And, unfortunately, we are not.”

NATO warplanes pounded Gadhafi’s compound in Tripoli on Saturday. Watch McCain’s words below:

McCain is a Constitution-hating, RINO who would take your freedoms almost as fast as Obama would.

    He’s an anti-gun, anti-Constitution, anti-States Rights, pro-Patriot Act, pro-welfare nanny state liberal.

I voted for Palin in 2008, in the hopes that McCain would die of old age or other natural causes, and that would leave Palin as POTUS.

McCain is no different than any other would-be tyrant.

As far as the economy getting better? 400,000 are losing their jobs each week. Another 400,000 are losing their unemployment benifits. The stock market will collapse in july when QE2 ends. Only the niativity of the left could possibly belive otherwise.

@DANNOWOOD, Thats good DANNOWOOD, we aren’t supposed to agree on everything, just as citizens find common ground in the attempt to make the quality of life better. After 911 I wanted heads to roll like everyone else. But I think we could have gone about things a lot smarter. Israel, and even the Soviet Union has suffered horrible terrorist attacks and we always told them to “be the better man”. To not go invading places with their guns drawn cause it just would make the situation worse as it would then give the enemy credibility of an oppressive aggressor to fight. We seemed not to take our own advise, and it turns out it was good advice. I was taught in high school and college that wars tend to spell the down fall of civilizations, while those able to muster out peace historically do better. All our potential “enemies” China, Russia have only gotten stronger while we struggle through a decade ruled by two wars. I support Obama, but do believe he’s an idiot for not ending these wars and starting another one. Why Americans believe we have a God given right to defend ourselves but no other one of Gods living creatures have a right to defend themselves. I.E. Afghans have just as much right to defend their land as we have to defend our land.

Yeah – one of the reasons I don’t like McCain. I don’t understand him sometimes. I’m one of those Consv./Repub. who agree with Ron and Rand Paul about how we shouldn’t have gotten involved with Libya, Afghan… against nation building ……that would be more like Eisenhower, who was adamantly against going into Vietnam but they didn’t listen. He mentioned his real concerns over one day getting a President who didn’t have the wisdom/experience to say “no” to the Generals who wanted to go to war all the time – like he did. We need more of those. I know that sentiment among Repubs. is growing so maybe. Plus we’ll need them here!!!

Let’s end our involvement in all three, because we’ll need them to help our only ally Israel. Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, and Iraq can do what they want. This Libyan war is a unilateral decision made by the Obfuscator-in-Chief who didn’t even consult Congress even though Libya was never a direct threat to America.

Of course, you won‘t see any criticism by the fawning government media of Obama’s unilateral decision and his complete by-pass of Congress because he’s their Messiah and can do no wrong!

Like all Obama’s other decisions, since he’s become King of All, this is just another blunder in his treacherous foreign policies where our American troops are going to have to pay the ultimate price.

Vote him out in the next election. We can’t afford another four years of his failed and treacherous policies.

And Iraq was a threat to us? bombing a rogue military is different then taking over a sovereign nation, which if you haven’t noticed, with the collapse of our economy, we are paying dearly for that mistake. Libya wasn’t a good decision, and Obama like Bush will have to come to terms someday with the people they had a hand in killing. Obama has said he’s not perfect, and has admitted several times to mistakes, which is his appeal, hes human. Bush couldn’t admit any mistakes for fear it would make him look weak. The stock market has recovered, the economy though slowly is coming back.. Try being thankful of someone instead of hateful.

We defend our houses, and our ways with shotguns, but seem to have no problem attacking other people’s ways and property. We have no business in Libya, Iraq, or Afghanistan. What we are doing is criminal. The CIA finds a terrorist there, sure stick a cruise missile up there rear end, but all this other occupation stuff has only made us look oppressive, predatory, and violent. I’m an Ohioan, and thus have no say of the business of a man in Indiana, but I seem to, somehow, have a say in Libyans lives. Something is very wrong with that picture. I do have trouble with reconciling “what” you say you stand for and “who” you say you support. If Oh-bummo has his way your State will no longer have a freedom to constitute itself, instead, your state will be governed by the Federal Gov. Also, you will no longer be able to defend your very household with your shotgun, if he has his way. This does not even speak to what he is doing internationally.

How will you reconcile those freedoms with Oh-bummer’s goals? You can’t. You had better reassess your choices for 2012 because The Oh will continue to take your freedoms away.

This war in Libya is completely consistent with his fellow radicals’ idea of a world communism.

See here, from the Weather Underground manifesto:

“The goal is the destruction of US imperialism and the achievement of a classless world: world communism. Winning state power in the US will occur as a result of the military forces of the US overextending themselves around the world and being defeated piecemeal; struggle within the US will be a vital part of this process, but when the revolution triumphs in the US it will have been made by the people of the whole world.”

The GOP of course brought us to where its illegal to assassinate leaders of foreign countries, thinking it would give grounds for our leader (President) to be assassinated. A law that must change, as taking out the head is a lot better then finding all the parts of the body as in Iraq. Point being though, we Democrats and Republicans are the exact same. Same as the Arabs and Israelis are the same people. If would could find common ground and stop hating and attacking each other we’d be in a lot better spot. @GALVANIZED My views are even if you don’t like the man, for whatever reason, we are in better shape because of him. I’m in the middle. Find me a good Repub, and I’ ll vote for him. But the last GOPer was a complete disaster and no one will take ownership of that. Everything vital to this country collapsed under the GOP. Under the Dems things have at least stabilized if not improving. Today, all i see on the right is hate. Americans hate the man who killed Bin Laden worse then Bin Laden himself. Makes absolutely no sense. Sure, I don’t like some of his policies.. manly the fact that he seems to be, and prominent Republicans have even said, more of a Republican then Democrat. Still can’t figure out for the life in me why Republicans hate this man so much.. other then the obvious race. Which, fine, if you don’t like African Americans move to the suburbs and rual areas of the country as people have been doing for years. I personally believe abandoning the “soul” of our country in a time of greatest needs isn’t wise, but everyone is free to make up their own minds.

Again, find me a GOPer who won‘t send the economy back to the 30’s great depression. Get us stuck in two decade long wars and cause out right hysteria then I’m there. Politics is like any other business where it’s designed to go back and forth. Then, we the people, the customer get the best that both sides have to offer. We can make this country a great place for ALL, but it takes work and understanding. Don’t forget Jesus was the ultimate lover not fighter.

      Mr. McCain.

Did it occur to you that we’re in Libya illegally? Did it occur to you that our troups were sent there without the legal approval of Congress? Did it occur to you that Senator John McCain has been rendered irrelevant by a President that doesn’t follow the law and handed over direct control of our armed forces to the United Nations?

Mr. McCain, you are obviously blinded to all this by the fact that you’re a cog of the politcal machine inside the beltway. With you, it’s politics as usual, and alway has been. The old adage, “Nero fiddled while Rome burned” comes to mind.

Well, your fiddling Mr. McCain. While our nation is about to burn.

Just what do you think you’re going to do about it? Stand for the people and our founding principles or stand with your Washington insiders?

      The choice is yours.

      @JoeAmerica,

The current occupier in the WH has been, and will continue to be, a master at dividing this nation, and has dissed many of our allies abroad. I’m sure you keep up on current events so no need to go into details. How can you, with the conscience you do appear to have regarding decency, continue to support his views and policies? I am cunfused by your thinking, entirely. You seem to be such a decent person. Decency usually follows some sort of right upbringing, which I’ll bet you had.

Please rethink who you support in 2012. There are many better leaders on the docket, with perhaps more to come.

Answer me this, please? Would you be an Allen West supporter if he, somehow, chose to run? That would tell me alot about you. I can tell you this about the majority of Blazers regarding their view of a man because of his race. It is NOT the color of his skin, but the content of his character that matters to them. Their distain for President Obama is because of his beliefs, policies and actions. Please help me to understand you better.

JoeAmerica: Seriously are you so damn ignorant that you believe the President of the US determines how the economy will perform???? Really now? My god. The President my have 5, 10, 15% influence over the US economy at best.. The Federal Reserve determines the Economic outlook and it has for the past 100 yrs!!! They will for the most part determine who the next President will be and then will determine whether or not he will get reelected!

How do you feel your hero dumbass backwards commie Obama would look if not for being granted 2 freaking TRILLION dollars borrowed from our future.. or for our CHILDREN to pay back and the ability to govern for 3 years with the Federal Reserve passing out all the free dollars the banks can put in thier pockets???

Do you even understand a damn thing about ECONOMICs??? Let me give you some advice.. During the period of the next Presidential cycle all hell is going to break lose and it won’t matter if there is a Dem or Rep in office.. The free money will come to an end.. there will be no more money to borrow from the future and the bills with much higher interest will need to be paid..

Try to comprehend then go give your dumbass liberal idiot friends some of the key facts about economics!

The Federal Reserve has all the say? Who puts the chairman of the Federal Reserve in place? No question Obama is spending a bunch, but he has to.. He inherited a broke economy and country. If it breaks you have to fix it, to fix it you must pay. If the drive shaft of your car drops out, that sucks. But if its your on vehicle to get you back and forth to work (ie. your livelihood) then you must fix it.. that takes money. If you don’t have money, then you must borrow money from someone. It sucks but it’s the way of life. Again, Obama wouldn‘t have to spend money fixing our country if some one hadn’t broke it in the first place!

JoeAmerica: I hate GWB myself and his father too.. Both enemies of the Republic but are you going to sit there and put all this blame on GWB?? In actuality America was bankrupt when he took over and he just used the housing bubble and then the War in Iraq (that was his borrowing from the future) to create the image that the economy was well but it wasn’t.. It was already sick and it’s structural problems. It hasn’t gotten one dime better since the pos from Kenya stepped up either.. It’s all smoke and mirrors.

There comes a time when the theory behinkd Keynesian economics is just that… It is now that time. There’s no more stimulus dude.. Maybe enough to get the POS reelected but then it’s all over. Borrowing money for economic stimulation is not going to sustain an economy for the long run especially when we’ve already bitten off more than we can chew.

America is bankrupt. .It‘s not going to be bankrupt it’s already bankrupt.. We are living off the fumes of the past. Just wait till our lenders begin to demand interest on the money they’ve loaned us.. What will we do then? What will we do when the Federal Reserve is no longer taking our debt and putting it on their Secretive balance sheet?

Oh and about that President picking the Fed Chairman.. Do you really believe that it is an Executive decision? Maybe to the extent that the Fed says here’s A, B, C.. Choose! Obama’s a pathetic puppet just like anyone else will be that sets foot in the White House!

The issue I have with your analogy is BHO/FED/GOV as a whole isn’t really trying to fix the economy, or your drive shaft.

A better car analogy to describe what the GOV is doing would be.

I drove my car in till it ran out of gas, on purpose just so I could by a Chevy VOLT.

There not trying to fix it. There trying to change it into something the producers/ working people of this country don’t want…Socialism!

-Yes we are a broke nation, and yes it really sucks.. so what to do? Reagan ran the deficit up for one reason, and it wasn’t because he caved to the libs—–he was defeating Russia in the cold war.

      @JoeAmerica,

Ideas? You want ideas? The answer is VERY simple:

STOP electing establishment candidates from EITHER party! Get rid of elitists in congress and start whittling the size of our government—SUBSTANTIALLY. Take the DOE(department of education) for example; are we any better off since it was established? NO WAY, are MUCH worse, America ranks well below other nations in education.

Reduce the ridiculous regulation that inhibits our economic growth, AND drives OUR jobs over-seas.

      That’s just for starters.

Bush took this country to the hard right, so the people, not me, elected someone who was on the left as a “correction”. Funny thing is Obama seems more on the right then left and “Blazers” still hate him. Yes I personally believe it has more to do with FEAR then with some mans job performance. It appears t me most “Blazers” live in area with no or little African population and are purely letting fear get the best of them.

@MIKETHETRUCKER -Those are ideas, and at least your throwing some out. Not ellect an establishment President from either side! I think that was the IDEA of the LEFT this time around. When the right brought us back to a Bush, the left could have brought us back to a Clinton.. the establishments of both parties.. But they didn’t! They choose to run with something out of the grain, something untraditional, something this country had never seen or utilized before.. an African American man.. and won. The problem seems to be once we get out of the establishment and tradition people freak out from fear.. and demand a return back to the tradition and established.
