John Yoo: Obama Worse on Civil Liberties than Bush

Remember how President Obama was going to close Guantanamo Bay? How he was going to run one of the most transparent administrations in history? How he was opposed to the Patriot Act? How he believed civilian trials were important?

Maybe you remember, but as both progressives and conservatives have been long since forced to accept, that Obama is so 2008. A taste of power can make a lot of difference. So it must be worrisome to progressives especially when one of their former great monsters of the Bush administration, John Yoo, starts saying President Obama might be going a bit too far in knocking down civil liberties. Yoo talked to the Daily Caller on this specific issue today:

 

The relevant part of the video is where Yoo says, “You don’t see the same critics who so thrashed President Bush, for allegedly thinking he was a king, making the same arguments and engaging in the same criticism of President Obama. I think a reasonable person can only conclude that is because President Obama happens to be a Democrat, where as President Bush was a Republican.”

    how can o go to the holicost museum & have no understanding that there should be no hate yelling @ anyperson because of their culture or color of their skin

    I find it so ironic or Whit-African prissdent goes to the Hollicost museum & lights a candle to honor his ggrandfather who was a soldier in the liberation but he pushes with the black caucus to divide the country -hope your white blue eyed ancestors are proud of your racism

    Our White -African President is trying to destroy our freedom that many of our ancestors cherished when they went to fight in the Great Wars they knew what communism was & they wanted to protect their new homeland many were not even citizens, just wanted more for their kids i want to thank my dad & his for my freedom

    They accused Bush and that’s all they did. Harry and nancy weed had all of congress and did nothing but allege. They had nothing to put forward. That’s what alinsky radicals do. They accuse the opposition of doing what it is they themselves are doing. They point first and then play innocent while pointing at the opposition as finger pointing at them. This is a strategy to call a draw when they are guilty of everything. It also alienates the average voter and creates apathy among those who despise the whole process. Meantime they are firing up the buses and rounding up mickey, goofy, donald duck and the rest to go and vote for them.

      Since the founding fathers stopped worrying about their lives and treasure I do not think it is too much to sacrifice if all of us stop caring what is thought or said about us for speaking the truth. Amazingly so many are too afraid to even make this small sacrifice for liberty. I no longer care what they who are destroying this republic think or say, and neither should anyone who considers themselves a true patriot.

      It’s bullying pure and simple. So what you are supposed to do is knock the teeth out of the lead bully and keep on doing it. Dems are very small people who hide their agenda from the Gp. They accuse, bully, lie, deceive, demonize BUT are unprepared for a real fight. They think they are but they are weak and use ghetto tactics. Run hide return to the scene of the crime and say (didn‘t see nuthin’). We should hit them right at the scene of the crime before they can walk away. They know it. That’s why they gang up to intimidate.

    You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to know that. The funny thing is that Liberals are so stupid that they cannot see the obvious fact that Zero has far surpassed any modern president in destroying our civil liberties. The same exact idiots that ran around flapping their arms and screaming about Bush violating their civil liberties cannot see that Zero has made it far worse.
