Posted on December 16, 2011 at 12:12amOnce again, they asked Newt all kinds of questions, he spews memorized facts like a person with obsessive compulsive disorder, talks and talks, obsessed with his own voice, never shuts up! Romney was hardly asked anything while Ron Paul had his hour of wierdness and isolationism. Why are they always wasting so much time on the ones who don’t get many votes? Stop asking them sooo many questions! No one cares!

NEWT won this one and began the task of answering his critics who have no clue about what it takes to get PUBS in office after 40 years; balance a budget for 4 years; reduce welfare etc. I think he did great. Maybe ROMNEY will be HIS VEEP ? Bachmann is horrible. Perry was funny. Paul is nuts. Santorum is too little – too late..and not enough …what … comfort in his own skin, doesn’t generate belief in his ability…NEWTS winning my vote so far!

Posted on December 15, 2011 at 11:17pmMichelle Bachman is very good. She’s the A student and head cheerleader type, of the GOP candidates. But she doesn’t inspire people. Sarah Palin did.
I don’t think half the posters here were for Bachman until Newt began getting ripped on the radio. I don’t have that herd mentality, at least not as badly as some of you guys.
I didn’t hear one thing from Newt that made me believe he is a Progressive. I did hear talk that made me feel like he can get things done in Washington…and I like what he said.

I just want a guy who can beat obama and make the country start up in a better direction. I hope we can get the senate as well. I will not vote the establishments choice. I can afford my house though. they offered me 3 x the amount I could afford. That is the problem. Newt is not for this type of doing business. you cannot associate his taking 1.6 to his wanting to stop the govt from doing something he does not agree with. Bush was for FM + FM too, he just understood how out of control it had gotten with the new open lines that banks were forced to do.

CatB
Posted on December 15, 2011 at 9:35pmBecause Huckabee assisted McCain in getting the nomination by staying in until he had enough delegates to give to McCain to make him the candidate…. now I am no MItt “fan” .. but that is what happened. Has everyone forgotten what he did in Massachusetts or has everyone gotten used to the idea of Obamacare now? I hope not. I live in MA and work in the health care industry and let me tell you, it is the worst thing ever to hit this state. Romney is not the answer to this Country. I wasn‘t into politics to much in the 90’s as I was in my 20′s and just wanted to go to work and play. I need to do some more research regarding Newt but from what I see in the debates and interviews, he’s a smart guy and has a lot of good ideas and has the experience. I also like Rick Santorum. I think the reason why so many people like Newt is because they’re afraid to see Obama in another 4 years.

Posted on December 15, 2011 at 9:37pmThe only man ‘right’ for the job was Washington. One of the reasons that the Conventioners left the president’s duties and such so vague in Article II was that they knew George would be the first president, and he was so well trusted. They should have been more cynical and foresighted, but it is what it is.
So far tonight, every time I click over to the debate, the Fox folks are asking questions to get the others to attack Newt; guess that’s the theme tonight. I know Newt’s flaws, but this isn’t what I tune in to watch. Oh well.

You are so right about Newt and Healthcare. Newt has a $40 million healthcare think tank that has been promoting the national healthcare mandate. Gingrich was instrumental in pushing the Medicare Prescription Drug program in 2004. He was very active in pushing the conservative republicans to sign on.
Because of his 17 year support for the National Healthcare mandate, I really doubt that he would completely repeal the Obamacare solution. I think what Gingrich will do is come up with one of his big ideas and mold it into another monstrosity known as Gingrichcare.
I was glad to see that Beck exposed Gingrich’s Big government Progressive Agenda. Gingrich has spent his life in Big Government and profiting from big government. It would be counter intuitive to think that he would not continue with this agenda if elected as President.
That is why I think you are seeing more conservative House and Senate members, like Rep. Peter King and Senator Tom Coburn speak up about Gingrich’s record. This is also why I think, Ron Paul has been relentless with his Gingrich attacksl. The conservatives that worked with him in the House and Senate know this about Gingrich.
