Jon Stewart Mocks Obama’s SOTU bin Laden Opener: ‘Does Rick Springfield Open With ’Jesse’s Girl?!’

Jon Stewart Critiques Obama Opening State of the Union With bin LadenIf you were watching President Obama’s State of the Union Address on Tuesday evening, you likely noticed that he brought up terrorist mastermind Osama bin Laden early on in the address.

Rather than holding off on praising his accomplishment (i.e. ridding the world of bin Laden) until later in his speech, Obama wasted no time in proclaiming, ”For the first time in two decades, Osama bin Laden is not a threat to this country.”

Last night, “The Daily Show’s” Jon Stewart critiqued the address and hilariously took aim at the president’s early mention of the now-deceased terrorist:

“You open with I killed bin Laden?! You open with that? ‘Hey everybody, how you doin’? You having a nice night? I f**king killed bin Laden! I killed him!’” What are you doing? Does Rick Springfield open with “Jesse’s Girl?” No! He opens with “I’ve Done Everything for You“ and then he transitions into ”Don’t Talk to Strangers” — slows it down a bit with “Affair of the Heart,” and then hits you with something off the new album. And then just when you think it can’t get anymore…beautiful – ”Jesse’s Girl” and the place goes f**king nuts — it goes nuts!”

Watch these comments, below (around 1:30):

The comedian went after a number of other themes as well, as he likened the president to “tax-credit Oprah.” Imitating Obama in the talk show queen’s role, Stewart said, “You get a tax credit! And you get a tax credit!”

He also went on to address the “spilled milk” joke, which likely didn’t go over as well as Obama had hoped.

Even the Democrats were in disbelief but “tow the party line” for this DA president. You have got to be a “wedge” to joke about “spilled milk” or anything else with 25 million people out of work and the economy in the toilet.

At the time I thought I had already seen and heard much of the speech in a movie. Leave it to Eric Peters to nail it: The Emperior’s Speech about the Galactic Empire in Star Wars. I suggest there would not be a nano’s difference if it were Mittens and perhaps even more emperial if Newtie was giving it. The speech was a tour de force in the unconsititutional power of the office and underscores the need to reverse course to return, if possible, to original intent.

I found the clip entertaining.. Clearly we don’t need a tax code for politicians to perpetually play there games with.. We need a flat tax.. A small agency to oversee it.. Abolish the IRS.. Government on a budget.. Less regulation and other agencies cut down to size.. As well as a President who calls our government what it is a Republic..

but it seems the Huntington Post visitors also found it, even though it is a conservative site.

It’s so funny to listen to liberals brag about killing bin laden. These are the same people that pretended to be anti-war when Bush was president. When a liberal president bombs civilians, they’re just fine with it.

I don’t think all liberals were “anti-war.” I think their position was that we should be trying to get Bid Laden rather than attacking a country that had nothing to do with 9/11/

No if you listen to BS you only here BS. As a intelligent person I’ld no more give credence to a liberal idealog as a christian would give to a satanist. For far too long people have taken the route of hate the message not the messenger. well I’ve come to the conclusion they are one in the same. So liberal progressive idealogs are liberal progressivism bounded in flesh. And I already know their message and reject it to the every core of my being. Steward could fall off the face of the earth today and it would be no different than a gnat falling off the face of the earth. They’re both irritating and useless in my world.

You know, Obama has laid everything else in George Bush’s lap. Getting Osama Bin Laden – is the ONE thing that I KNOW that George Bush and the policies he instituted after 9/11 was responsible for. Only thing Barry did was to come in off the golf course and say “Yeah sure let’s do that” when the military presented him the opportunity.

Yeah, it should take a nanosecond to decide to send a dozen men on an incredibly risky mission where any number of think could go wrong when there isn’t any evidence Bin Laden plans on moving any time soon. God help us if we ever have a President with a twitchy trigger finger like you. The human race would never have survived the Cuban Missile Crisis if JFK would have been so agressive.

Stewert and Colbert are the “new” Charley Dickens! OL’ C.D. used very-remote scarcasm to show-up the dangerously-bad politics of his day. Dickens’ Fiction was so close to reality, but not enough to get him hanged by the King. Look him up, and his (real) story-lines. WE need S. and C. to help get the real story out.

Obama is using the SEAL Teams’ work ethic to equate to his campaign of shared sacrifice and fair share doctrine.

Here is what he is saying, in a not so subtle way to me: ‘The Navy SEALs work as a Team and make sacrifices together. We need to do the same thing as Americans, and the people who are more fortunate need to pay more so they don’t hurt OUR TEAM.’

He is exploiting the US military for his own re election, and it’s right in front of us. remember, this guy had 3 SEALs facing eric holder prosecution for punching a terrorist.

The only stance such a view could come from is extraordinarily deep in left field. Stewart throws softballs infrequently at the left and bricks constantly at the right.

His audience is so socialist-oriented I‘m not surprised they don’t show them often for fear of burning out the “red” filters.

Just last week he crushed Obama when he planned on vetoing the NDAA, not because it expanded the power of the executive power……..but because it didn’t give the executive branch UNLIMITED power to detain people it wanted.
