‘Journalistic Malpractice’: George Will Slams Media‘s ’Constant Writing Off of the Tea Party’

Speaking about Tea Party-favorite Ted Cruz’s recent victory in the Texas primary for U.S. Senate, George Will told the panel on ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday that the media’s constant discrediting of the Tea Party represents a “journalistic malpractice” in America.
And while the mainstream media continues dismiss the Tea Party, they just keep electing politicians, Will explained.
“Another example of journalistic malpractice in this country — the constant writing off of the Tea Party, which just goes about its business of electing senators. They’ll elect Cruz, they’ll probably elect Mourdock in Indiana, they’ll probably elect Deb Fischer in Nebraska,” he said. ”Often, George [Stephanopoulos], the most interesting and important fights in American politics aren’t between the parties, they’re within the parties. People say about Ted Cruz: ‘well, he’s part of the anti-intellectual Tea Party.’ Well, Princeton, Harvard, clerked for Justice Rehnquist, I don’t think so.”
On a roll, Will continued: “Then they say: ‘Well, he doesn’t play well with others.’ And people in Texas say: ‘He doesn’t play well with others? Send him to Washington.’”
And before he was done, he just had to add: “At Ted Cruz’s victory party, they served Chick-fil-A.”

It should be obvious to any Tea Partier that we are not valued in the Republican party. The Liberty movement is not welcomed by Romney or the GOP establishment. They may appreciate our votes but when it comes time to making policies we are not given a seat at the table.
This should be a wake up call for all of you who support Romney and hypocritically call yourself a Tea Partier. You can bend over and take the weather vain mormon up the rear but he will not thank you for it, rather hell expect you to bend over again and again during his presidency.
We must express or disdain for these anti constitutionalist/progressives and show them we will not fall in line unless they begin to legislate in a constitutional manner.
If you continue to support Romney after this slap to the face of the liberty movement you are no better than Obama supporters and are helping erode our liberties just the same.

This is the difference, Vitter’s affairs, while immoral and not right, he didn‘t LIE about it and he didn’t have pictured of himself nude floating for all of the public to see. He didn’t have a ton more dirt that nobody wanted to see, he wasn‘t married to Hillary Clinton’s number one confidant…
I am sorry if I am being insensitive to you Dave, I believe prostitution should be legal and people often remain married out of convenience or for their children’s sake. This wasn’t the case with Weiner. I am only giving you a hard time saying it is somebody you know who Vitter was with, but goodness Dave, you post this stuff like a million times, like you have some personal vendetta against the man .. Posted on August 6, 2012 at 6:24pmEven romney not speaking against gay marriage……..his sons doubtless have rich, gay friends who are for marriage——–
as everything in America, it’s all about money and the rich, you should know that as pubs
and the rich have turned supporters of gay rights/marriage, as so many of their children are gay——-and rich
it marks a dramatic change among some of the top Republican donors and opinion-makers, who are supporting same-sex marriage in state-based gay legislative and legal fights, even as the official GOP platform will remain centered on traditional marriage.
“Most Republican Party leaders seem to have lost the stomach for this fight,” said Dan Schnur of the Jesse M. Unruh Institute of Politics at the University of Southern California.
“Some of that results (from) the number of large-scale donors who support same-sex marriage, some of it’s a result in an increasing number of party leaders who support same-sex marriage, and a lot of it is public opinion polling which shows a shift in the way voters feel about same-sex marriage,” he added.

Report Post »I think you are on the right path with your statement. It may take a little longer because the power brokers in Washington D.C. have managed to turn the heads of some of the 2010 TEA Party supported victors. Over the next several election cycles, we will need to root them out and replace them along with those RINO’s who remain in office. I’m in it for the long haul and it will take awhile.

On the bright side, won‘t it be nice to see the libs get hammered in November amid MSM’s proclamations that Barrack can’t lose? Remember Nancy Pelosi the day before the 2010 elections proclaiming the dems were going to pick up seats? Well, they only lost 68 seats, the most in 70+ years…

Posted on August 6, 2012 at 5:16pmDr. Phil, Real Clear Politics was founded in 2000 by former options trader John McIntyre and former advertising agency account executive Tom Bevan, both conservatives. In an interview with the conservative magazine Human Events, McIntyre described the philosophy behind the Web site as based on “freedom” and “common-sense values.” Said Bevan, “We think debate on the issues is a very important thing. We post a variety of opinions.” He further stated, “we have a frustration all conservatives have”, which is “the bias in media against conservatives, religious conservatives, and Christian conservatives.”
Real Clear Politics poll: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/us/general_election_romney_vs_obama-1171.html
Fox has Obama ahead by +4, and Rasmussen has Obama ahead by +2 (right leaning pollsters), the overall poll has Obama ahead by +3.4 with only 3 months to go!!!
I cannot believe that you people really think that he can win. The RNC and Romney campaign committed federal crimes to give the nomination to a candidate that leans so far left he is about to fall over, and you guys just go with the establishment flow.
If you would all wake up, you would see that Ron Paul would win by a landslide. Paul supporters did a small money bomb in order to have an unbiased poll done to show the results of Paul vs. Obama. That poll should be complete around the 17th. I will post the results once we get them.

Posted on August 6, 2012 at 5:41pmI do my part, I vote against establishment people, but they just keep getting elected. Why do you think they announced Romney had the nomination for the Republican party so early, before so many states had their primaries? I don‘t think they should weigh in at all until every state has had it’s primary. People start thinking I might as well vote for him or I’m throwing my vote away. I voted for Santorum in the Texas primaries. And Romney still won. I am NOT going to vote for Obama, nor am I going to write someone else in. Unless the whole nation (or those who don’t vote for Obama) wrote in the same person, Obama would get elected again.

The same exact thing happend in 2008 with McCain. I believe the establishment called that race over after only 4 states had voted.
Not sure how to get over the hump. My only advice is for everyone to show their disdain for establishment politics – it is up to each person to decide how far to take it

(2) Call it a homophobe. (if that doesn’t work)
(3) Ridicule it by calling it stupid, out of touch, on the wrong side of history. (if that doesn’t work)
(4) Ignore it and pretend it never existed.
This used to work when the internet didn’t exist, and everyone got their news from the alphabet channels. Now it’s just pathetic.
Do you remember the propaganda minister in Iraq speaking to a pool of reporters telling them how Coalition forces were not in Bagdad, would never make it into Bagdad, because of the brave self-sacrifcing warriors of Iraq?
All the while an American M-1 Abrams tanks is levelling a building behind them.
This is the media, and the pool of reporters this time is the American people. But unlike the propaganda minister who could see clearly what was happening, and quickly departed. The media is still on the podium shouting “Don’t look around!! Look at me!! Look at me!! Who ya gonna believe, me or your lying eyes?!!!
