Joy Behar Quips She‘d Like to See Romney’s House ‘Burn’: ‘Who’s He Going to Call, the Mormon Fire Patrol?’

In a candid interview with the media insider site Mediaite, “The View” (and upcoming Current TV) host Joy Behar was quite open about her disdain for GOP candidate Mitt Romney. In fact, she said she would like to see Mitt Romney’s house “burn” and then cracked a joke about his faith.
“I mean, I’d like to see his house burn, one of his millions of houses burning down,” she told Tommy Christopher. “Who’s he going to call, the Mormon fire patrol?”
The comment came after Christopher detailed Romney’s remarks on Friday, where he blasted the president’s remarks about wanting to hire more teachers, firemen, and police.
“He says we need more firemen, more policemen, more teachers,” Romney said. “Did he not get the message of Wisconsin? The American people did. It’s time for us to cut back on government and help the American people.”
Behar added: “You know what I mean? Come on. What am I supposed to do if my apartment gets caught on fire? Am I gonna call Mitt Romney to come and put it out? See what I mean?”
Romney did try to backtrack on Tuesday, saying his comments were aimed at Obama’s stimulus plan, not public sector workers.

It does seem Behar was being cheeky, but should that excuse the comments? And of course, do we really need to ask what the outrage would be if the tables were turned?

Give it a rest Romney defense force. This is one of those stories that is only news if you let it be and that largely depends on giving a crap about what joy behar says.

According to wikipedia, 71% of the firefighters in this country are volunteers.
When Obama says hire more public sector workers, he hides behind teachers, firefighters and policemen. What he really means is bureaucrats.
BTW Latter Day Saints are organized into geographical units called ‘wards’. You go to a particular meetinghouse, usually shared by several wards, at a certain time based on where you live. If the ward grows beyond a certain number of members, it splits into 2 smaller units. In Utah, there are meetinghouses on every corner (exaggeration). This way of doing things could make it possible for them to provide fire service, in the same way 71% of the volunteer firefighters do now.

What’s strange about these times is how nuts have been allowed to take over the asylum and this country. What’s more the media has turned tv into the biggest asylum of all with its endless parade of nutty people, and apparently ‘the crazier the better.’ Joy qualifies.
Joy‘s just another ’crazy‘ competing for top gun on the list of ’hit parade of nuts’. Eventually some executive from the mainstream media will have Joy committed when they realize she actually thinks she’s a real celebrity. It may be to late though, I heard she‘s going to work for Owl ’crap‘ Gore’s network where I’m sure it will blossom into the war of the nuts. She’ll end up like Keith Olbermann, a NY city street walker. Right now Joy‘s claim to fame is she’s got the face and personality that lauched a 1000 flies.

I’m not recommending others move along and ignore her transgression. I’m saying that paying attention to her bigotry feeds the troll. It is only posted as a story because the editor new it would rustle some jimmies.

A joke in Louisiana went: There were two churches that had people here to clean up: the Mormons and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. (For those who don’t get it, “Mormons” call themselves The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Maybe everyone should.)
But it is not correct to say that progressives do not take care of their families and friends. They do. They do it with other people’s money, taken by threats of (or actual) lethal force. That way, everybody’s happy: the liberal don’t have to pay much and the poor (or wannabe poor) get what they claim to need.
Oh, I forgot — there is one group who is not happy: the taxpayer whose wealth is plundered. But that’s a small price to pay so the liberal can feel good about how charitable he is.

I feel sorry for her, every time I have caught her on TV she seems angry and brittle-the true sound and fury signifying nothing. As Mom often said “bless her heart, she just isn’t friendly or likable.“ I am so trying to be nice and not like the ”other” side, but sometimes it is so hard to be Christian.
