JPMorgan CEO: Beirut ‘Safer’ Than Occupy Protests

JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon told Fox Business that he was safer being in Beirut than his own home when Occupy protesters invaded his neighborhood in October, 2011.

“That particular day, I was in Lebanon, Beirut doing business over there and I was probably safer over there too,” Dimon said.

See the Jamie Dimon interview via Fox Business:

When Occupy Wall Street staged a protest designed “to see how the 1 percent lives,” they specifically targeted well-to-do New York neighborhoods.

On a side note: When “Occupiers” decided to stage this particular protest, they completely ignored billionaire currency speculator George Soros’ apartment building.

But even though Dimon was a direct target of this protest, he told Fox Business that the Occupy movement has some points he agrees with.

“The institutions of America — broadly defined — let us down and that includes Wall Street, includes Washington for the most part,” he said. However, when “you get beyond that and you blame us all equally, all politicians, all businesses, all banks, that’s not accurate and I think that leads to bad policy.”

In fact, according to Dimon, the policies enacted by the White House at the outset of the Obama administration have been so uncoordinated and disjointed that they’ve actually hindered the economy’s recovery.

“I do think that we’ve made this recovery slower and worse by uncoordinated policy, the debt ceiling crisis, and tons of other things which were misguided,” Dimon said.

And concerning the Occupy movement: Although Dimon believes there’s something to be said about “income inequality,” he believes there needs to be actual, reasonable goals as opposed to simply “complaining.”

“What do you do about that? Washington needs to have a serious argument about how do you fix the problem, not just complain about it,” Dimon said. “While celebrating work, success, meritocracy — let’s not throw the baby out with the bath water on that.”

Dimon also made sure to note that people who are “successful,” those who have been working hard for 50+ years, should be praised — not denigrated.

The interview ends with Dimon putting to rest rumors that he has helped raised campaign cash for former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney (as opposed to President Obama who publicly supported in 2008). However, even though Dimon denies financially supporting Mitt Romney, it seems pretty clear that he no longer supports President Obama.

I‘m not convinced he’s convinced about the goodness, as well as the morality, of Capitalism. Lamentable.

Here’s another statement regarding the sad state of affairs here in the U.S., “Bernie Madoff has more integrity than our President and most of Congress.”

Words of wisdom ? from one of the greatest criminals the world has ever seen or will ever see again, a man who’s stolen more from all Americans than the IRS and the government combined. A cheap suit in a cheap suit no matter what it cost. Anyone who listens to this gangster bankster who belongs in a real life prison for the rest of his life, with the key dropped in the sea to be with the likes of Osama and the rest of the radiated fish that are dying in the deep. The mob has nothing on this guy, even their best of godfathers pales in comparison.

I disagree that he is a criminal. he did everything within the letter of the law. The laws were skewed to make what he did IMMORAL, but it was all legal…

I think he is a slimeball. I think he is as sorry as the day is long. But JP Morgan did not break the law. They did however legally steal a lot of money.

DALADY, When it starts hitting close to home and in a persons comfort zone they start to get the picture. It seems that way these days. I just hope it is not to late and more people will wake up. This guy has played the game and is not to happy with the consquences. Looks like he got played himself. He made some good points. I hope he is serious and will continue to see the twisted and negative progressives for what they are. Will he? Can’t say but I find it interesting that he feels this way now.

These wacko occupiers are just jealous of someone or any institution that has something as they have not. Look at them. Fresh out of the gutter, and never worked an honest day in their life. They just want the liberal diet of having some hard working fool hand over his fortune to them so they can continually eat their young.

This Senior Bilderberg lackey of the Globalist bankers who are busy planning the demise of the UlS. economy, should be in jail along with John Corzine(IMHO) but the fact that they are not is just further proof that we are now in a post constitutional fascist state with little control of our fate, considering the state of the two party political system we now ‘enjoy’. Breaking free of this two party Globalist Puppet system should be our goal and I believe both Left and Right oriented voters are beginning to see this.

Our nation already is broken. From poor business practices to inept politicians who can’t pass anything that will actually help us in our time of need. Both parties are more worried with control than giving us the real numbers and real cuts in spending. Its all accounting tricks. If you are a politician I do not trust you. The money needs to be out of politics and any law congress passes they should never be exempt from it. This country was founded on equality but now those that make the laws dont even have to follow most of the laws passed. The country is on a downslide and I am afraid there will not be recovery. The golden Days are over America got fat and now we are all paying for it. Sadly some of those that put us in this position will not have to live with their mistakes long. But the young generations will have to bear the full burdon.

      Agreed.

This has nothing to do with income inequality and everything to do with overthrowing the US government.

The only ones who think this has anything to do with income inequality are those in the MSM and those too blind to see the truth.

I have gotten pamphlets from our local OWS movement and 4 of the 6 are from anarchists, the others are from unions.
