Juan Williams Knocks Ann Romney: ‘Looked to Me Like a Corporate Wife’

Politico:

Fox News contributor Juan Williams took some ribbing from his colleagues Tuesday night after saying Ann Romney looked “like a corporate wife” who hasn’t struggled in her life.

“Mitt Romney’s wife, Ann Romney, on the other hand looked to me like a corporate wife,” Williams said, speaking on a panel after the Republican National Convention’s speeches wrapped for the night. “And you know the stories she told about struggle, eh, it’s hard for me to believe. She’s a very rich woman and I know that and America knows that.”

Steadfastly supporting a spouse in the political spotlight, raised 5 boys, survived breast cancer, and lives with M.S.
Mrs. Romney strikes me as a woman of strength and dignity.
Juan, you will never be half the woman she is.

“Juan Williams Knocks Ann Romney: Looked to Me Like a Corporate Wife”

Jealousy rears it’s ugly head…. and it has the eyes of Juan Williams.

Hey Juan, I hear Missy Chrissy is looking for a thrill up his leg. Have you considered a job at MSNBC? Oh, that’s right, they don’t want you because of your past statements. Yet, FNC welcomes you with open arms. You can’t bite the hand that feeds you on the progressive stations but FNC allows you to do just that. Get a clue and grow up….. or get a job at McDonalds. I hear affirmative action is still in place under the Obama administration.

Hi MONK, I had more respect for Juan while he was still employed by NPR and doing his bits on Fox. He’s gotten more angry now. Oh, wait a minute. Am I being racist by mentioning ‘angry?’ Anyway, there has been a noticeable change in his attitude lately. Still don’t think that he was as nasty as Miss Chrissy, Lawrence O’Donnell, or Rachel Madcow. I’ll be checking them out again tonight. I’d like to catch Marty Bashir next. He’ll certainly be vicious as usual. Hehehe, if a birth certificate is mentioned his will explode.

The other thing that Juan is conveniently glossing over is the fact that Mitt and Ann were not always rich people. They too lived in a small apartment struggling like many do. Yes is became successful but she certainly didn’t marry into success or money.

These couple of token liberals on Fox are getting dreary and tiresome … Williams is just over the top of stupid, deer in the headlights of reality, and Beckle wanes in and out from being a stupid bully to an unconscious drone … His past drug, alcohol and marriage problems certainly qualify him as some liberal intellect … The Five is an awesome show and I know they need some sort of “fair and balanced” thing, but these two just don’t cut it … There must be some liberals out there with a brain — or maybe not!

I used to have SOME respect for Juan, as he was willing to criticize the left when they were over the top or hyperbolic, but this just ended it for me. His disdain of Ann Romney was on the same level of the “never worked a day in her life” comment.

You don’t raise FIVE boys, beat breast cancer, and cope with MS without intense emotional and physical struggle. The dismissive and derisive treatment of Ann Romney by the Democrats while swooning over Michelle “control-freak” Obama is sickening.

Juan’s comments revealed his classism and racism. The Obamas are wealthy now, but he wouldn’t treat them as dismissively. The Romneys weren’t always wealthy, they earned their way up. I am more impressed with Ann Romney than I ever have been.

Yeah why would we want a successful business person running this country, lets go find a loser we can better relate to (sarcasm voice).

The left loves to complain about Bush. One of my problems with Bush was he didn’t seem to understand spending and budgets (he did run a business into bankruptcy). Let’s add a new entitlement program, but we will make it a free market program so it will come in under budget (which it did), but you still grew government and increased spending!

Now we have a successful business guy and the montra is HE’s RICH, GASP! Please, that is a selling point for me, since his money is earned (not made from being a crooked politician and selling a few badly written books, that he may or may not have written).

Juan Williams could wrestle all of the Romney Family money away from them
& still not be able to buy one ounce of CLASS.

The same Libs who perpetuate the “War on Women” come up with
      snarky remarks like this.
I believe, Williams always searches out the most repugnant remarks,
simply because it gets his name in the headlines…self-aggrandizing !

He should be married to Donna Brazile
because she, too had twisted, unnerving comments last night,
her body language says it all…this is the woman who says the USA
      should be more like China.

Williams has a problem with “Corporate Wives”,
most certainly he has bosses, who sign his big paychecks
and most likely, some of those bosses have “Corporate Wives”, too-
how would he explain his comment to them ?

“Corporate Wives” do more good & spread more positivity
      than “Community Organizer” wives.

I think Juan, is watching to much reality TV-
he’s confusing “Desperate Housewives’ with “Corporate Wives”.

Juan fits right into a show called, “Desperate Democrats”-
unfortunately, it’s a reality show America has dealt with…way too long.

Really….he owes Ann Romney & all women an apologize.
He should only wish to be as gracious as Mrs. Romney.

I believe, he has a daughter,
God forbid, she ever has the chance to marry a successful businessman.
Somehow, I doubt Juan would have a problem with that scenario ?

For instance..she said this. “”If it were up to the candidates for president on the Republican side, we would be driving foreign cars; they would have let the auto industry in America go down the tubes,”
But Wasserman Schultz owns a 2010 Infiniti FX35, a Japanese car whose parent company is Nissan, another Japanese company.

I watch this last night and you could see Williams searching desperately for something to criticize Ann Romney for. The woman is a huge asset to Romney. She’s likable, well spoken and genuine. Her speech was one of the best I’ve seen from a peripheral person in an election. She’s THAT good for Romney.
Williams saw this and he had to reach for something..anything to criticize her…he went to the “rich, out of touch white woman” well that liberals go to reflexively. And right after he said it he knew he was in trouble because Ann Romney didn’t exhibit what he was describing. But credit to Meagan Kelly..she pressed him..and having painted himself into a corner he had no choice but to carry on…and he looked visibly uncomfortable for doing so. His eyes were going back and forth, he was nervous in his chair…he realised he’d screwed up.

Juan won’t be even a quarter the woman simply because Juan is a man.
      But…
One of my aunts also raised 5 kids, but she was working at the same time, because her husband was in the war fighting against Germans that time. And she had tuberculosis that she didn’t survive.

So, even though I am going to vote for Romney just to get rid of the Disaster-in-Chief, I don’t object what Juan said about Ann. She DID NOT HAVE TO go to a job to earn a salary; she was not experiencing financial problems that many women do, counting every singe nickel; she had enough sources to hire a housemaid, which probably she did; she didn’t have to carry heavy bags every day, as my aunt and many American women do.
So, the merits of Ann are not in a mythical (read: false or highly exaggerated for political reasons) image of a plodder, a “working woman”, but rather in being a good wife, a good mother, a good friend, a good supporter.
I don’t know about you all, but I am sick of political exaggerations.

Mr Williams would be the first to cry foul if you implied he was lacking in the ability to place himself in the roll of another and decide that he couldn’t possibly know pain in the same way that every single man and woman born on this planet can. His remark placed a survivor of breast cancer and even now lives every day with the progressive prognosis of a severe crippling disease as one whose corporate husband will “ take care of her ” in ways other women don’t have. Will that economic hedge make the spector of leaving her beloved family any less painful ? Will it make the road from walking to walking with crutches and then depending on a wheelchair on par with a treat ? Would
the fact that he is not in any way poor make it easier on one of his relatives ? We all took part in Calvary and so will come in time to our own Calvary. My guess is that Mrs Romney will carry her cross with courage and grace. Lets hope Mr Williams will carry his with courage, fortitude, and a minimum of whinning.

I love the Romney’s and what they stand for as far as FAMILIES are concerned. But when it comes to how you spend your wealth on yourselves, that doesn’t comport with the most charitable feelings towards the poor. How do you live in many mansions, have car elevators, and expect to be able to relate to the plight of the poor?

Its not everyone who has the president of a car company for a dad, a dad who also ran for president of the united states. HOW MUCH does that help you know EXACTLY what to do in this life to turn out successful? It is completely invaluable. Romney did have privilege. Huge privilege. I don’t judge him for that, but let’s not pretend that he is a self made man or something. That’s just too much to swallow. He had tons and tons of help and money as well. Lots of it.

What are we to think of this VP selection? He’s not a graduate of Columbia University . He’s not a graduate of Harvard. He wasn’t selected as the President of the Harvard Law Review. He didn’t get a special free quota scholarship ride to any prestigious university and, instead, had to work his way through Miami University of Ohio. For God’s sake the man drove the Oscar Mayer Wiener Truck one summer and waited tables another!

One morning when Paul Ryan was sixteen years old he went in to wake his father up and found him dead of a heart attack. He didn’t write two books about that experience (like Obama did). Instead, he assumed the role of adult at an early age, never having the luxury to pursue youthful drug use and the art of socialist revolution.

Instead, Paul Ryan and his mother took his grandmother, suffering from Alzheimers, into the household and served as the primary care provider for his grandma. His grandma wasn’t the Vice President of the Bank of Hawaii (like Obama’s) so she could offer nothing in return, except the element of “need”.

Once Paul Ryan got his BA in Economics from Miami University of Ohio he was hired as a staff economist in Wisconsin Senator Kastin’s office. Many rich people create jobs. I may become rich someday, and would feel really hurt if someone criticized me just because I had a bunch of money. It must be jealousy.

Why don’t we focus on the “content of their character”. Isn’t that what what a man said some years ago? Judge them by the content of their character? Why is it that I hear so many folks chiming in about somebody else’s money?

I have a different take on Juan. He seems to be a conflicted man. Before he was on Fox full time he would sometimes see a conservative side of things but now I see it so much less that he’s seems unreasonable. Put yourself in his shoes once. He was saved by people on the Right after the Left trashed him but now he is being paid totally for his Left leaning views by Fox so it sometimes comes off badly and not from his heart. I could be wrong but he appears to be a man that is stuck spewing some ideas he no longer believes.

The thing I heard Ann talking about a few months ago and caused me to feel endeared toward her, was talking about their little apt. with doors for a desk, etc., she also told about taping carpet samples together to make a rug for their apt.
When I lived on a Navy Base, I also taped carpet samples together to make a rug for our living room floor. This one little thing gave me a close connection to Ann. It still makes me laugh and feel happy remembering a struggling, happy, young marriage. Those were really the days when things were simpler.

The Democratic Party has become the Party of Envy and Hate; oh, and where’s my govt subsidy.

For the most part, the Democratic Party is the party of victim groups. Anything that looks like a traditional family must be torn to shreds because another person doesn’t have the ideal.

According to Democratic Dogma; America will not be transformed until we’re all living in debt and dysfunction.

For the Left, Equality is merely the halfway point to the transfer of power.

There is no doubt the Democratic Party wants to put its detractors in Tyranny; while they dine on Caligula.

Yes, the Democratic Party is in the process of turning itself over to Baal; the God of the body appetite.

Juan Williams’ comment is the real war on women, and is more indicative to the real aim of Liberalism, the war on the family .

If you get paid in hugs and kisses rather than dollars you are somehow “less than”. Since when did Mr. Williams and the democrat party get to define which women are “worthy” of the title. If Mr. Williams thinks that it is somehow easy to put your own dreams on hold not only for a day or a week or even a few years, but for decades to help others attain theirs (namely your children), he really doesn’t know anything about raising children or maintaining a marriage.

This is a theme that we see repeated over and over, that unless you bring home a paycheck and “contribute” to the family you are a “kept woman” and therefore not a “real” woman at all. They have taken what was once an act of dignity, sacrifice and love and turned it into a dirty phrase—“Stay at home mom”.

I have news for Mr. Williams, FAMILY IS ABOUT TAKING CARE OF EACH OTHER. It is a PARTNERSHIP a give and take. Family is not all about you! There is not a his and mine, only an OURS; Our home, our children, our cars, our dogs and yes, our bank account. It is not all about the latter.

The real “War on Women” is the wresting of power FROM women by the liberals where it is they who define what a “real woman” is. They tell you need to do to bring respect to womanhood if you do not follow their template you are “worth-less”.

I’m not quite sure what Juan means by that. Does she look like a corporate wife because she happens to be White? Herman Cain was a Corporate Officer. Herman’s wife happens to be Black, would she also look like a corporate wife to Juan?

Why does Juan presume that Ann was always wealthy? Does he presume that all White people start out wealthy? Ann Romney stated that when Mitt and she were first married, they lived in a basement apartment. That doesn’t seem like she started out wealthy to me.

Sandy agreed, I used to enjoy, listen and repect Juan’s point of view. Now he has become a screaming person who talks over thoses with a different point of view…kinda like Allen Combs (used to like him before as well).

Thank god for a DVR..whenever I see Juan I just hit the fast forward button! I truly get tired of his screaming over people and making personal attacks instead of relevant commentary!

Well, In My Opinion, Juan looks like a typical liberal stool sample, complete with corn kernels and peanuts. But then again, whoever dresses the ignorant Jackwagon does a really good job painting a turd. To bad they can’t treat the raw sewage that spews from his Pie Hole. But then again, I bet the best part of him ran down his mommies leg. I wonder if his parents had any children that lived. Juan, from now on, YOUR NAME IS Private Parts. DO YOU LIKE THAT PRIVATE PARTS, I bet you want to hit me.

What speech was he listening to? I am a woman who is struggling to raise her family and I was moved by her speech and I felt like she understands me better then Michelle Obama any day. She seemed more sincere and much less a robot than the current First Lady.

Primarygirl: Bravo! It is women like you that make America great and are role models. Mrs. Romney is one classy woman and will make an elegant First Lady unlike the present one that makes me ashamed every time she makes an appearance. Michele really is Chicago trash with the manners of someone from the Hood.

I have known people who have “some” money and act like they are so much better than everyone else .. and then I have known people who even with much more success are still down to earth … I believe Ann and Mitt belong in that second group. I watched the Fox Sunday show where they were interviewed in their home… they don’t have “help” … she LOVES to shop at Costco and even the adult kids have chores when they visit…. down to Earth people .. unlike the “Royal pain in the a$$” in the White House now.

      Juan is a pr*ck.

Juan knows the jig is up…..no pun intended. When Mitt is elected, you won’t hear of Ann spending exorbitant amounts of money on her clothes, her vacations, etc. You won’t hear of Mitt spending exorbitant time on the golf course. These people are class, either you have it or you don’t, and Juan knows that his side is severly lacking when it comes to that.

I can’t wait to see all the grandchildren playing on the White House Lawn…it will be like former residents who had Macaroni.

Hey Juan! What about telling the truth to the American people? Who are your two sons going to vote for? Especially now that your grandchildren have been born? I felt sorry for you when the Liberals threw you out. Now that you’re on FOX, you’re getting money from both sides. The Liberals that pay you to put out their garbage and FOX that pays you to keep their ratings high. What about telling the truth about how Liberals used to treat your wife on NPR? Come on, you’re fooling no one. We all know your sons are Republicans who are going to vote for Romney. If you can’t convince your own sons, what makes you think you can fool the American people?

Thank God your sons have more sense than their father.
