Juan Williams Slams Media Matters: ‘Trying to Ruin People’s Lives…Because They Disagree With Their Politics’

On Fox News this morning, Juan Williams had some strong words for Media Matters for America, a Soros-funded anti-conservative group. In recent days, Fox has claimed that Media Matters is using taxpayer dollars to attack the news network. For years, the group has made Glenn Beck a primary target as well.
Williams weighed in on the group’s attacks on Fox, saying:
“They used to monitor the media and point out things that were wrong, false, inappropriate, which is fine, but what you are hearing…is that really now they’re involved in opposition research. They are digging up dirt on people. They’re trying to ruin people’s lives and reputation because they disagree with their politics.
And, in specific here, what they disagree with is conservative politics and they really don’t like Fox News. So they’re going after everybody associated with Fox News including the likes of me.”
So, Williams contends that Media Matters is more concerned with attacking conservatives than with exposing general untruths in media. The group’s behavior has some wondering if the IRS should revoke its tax-exempt status. Watch his statements below:

Posted on July 5, 2011 at 11:13amRe: Juan Williams……how in hell did this clown ever get the opportunity to qualify to write ANY comments on the Blaze or anywhere else. Worse yet, unless he has blackmail info on the person who does the hiring at FOX, he shouldn‘t even be allowed in the building to sub for O’Reilly or anyone else. As a former radio station owner in Phoenix, here’s the bottom line. Juan Williams couldn’t even get a job mopping floors at my station. He’s a loser..

Posted on July 5, 2011 at 11:00amThe brazen way our government is being run is absolutely horrifying. People laugh and snicker when some say Obama won’t have to be re-elected, he’ll just appoint himself permanent president “for the good of the country”. But just look at this example. Media matters is now getting paid by the government to slander anybody the government doesn’t like. How different is that from declaring himself president for life. Does that sound like the America you think you know. Do you really think this is the only example? WAKE UP SHEEPLE! It’s almost too late.

Posted on July 5, 2011 at 10:53amLet me tell you something about reputation. Reputation is what people think you are.
If people believe you are person with certain values and you are not, then you are worried about your reputation being “destroyed”
If you live your life in accordance with your values and are open about it (Glenn does this now) you don’t need to worry about your reputation. People who present an image of what they think people want to see, not who they are, are the only ones who care about their reputation being destroyed.
If you are true to your own values, the only person who can affect you reputation is yourself.

Posted on July 5, 2011 at 1:50pmI have to disagree with you statement. Other people can ruin your reputation easily through gossip and enuendo. It is easy for the media to affect how others see you no matter how true to course you live your life. Small town gossip and group-think can easily ruin the reputation of a person even though it is absolutely erroneous. With mass high speed media that is as lopsided as we have today it is easier than ever to shape somones perception of another. Forunately we have internaet alternates such as the Blaze and talk radio. Unfortunately there is only one objective (though right leaning in their commentary segments) TV outlet to counterbalance it all.

Posted on July 5, 2011 at 10:49amGood point that Media Matters is blatantly breaking the law as a tax free entity & has taken up an unquestionably partisan position w/ no desire to be educational or engage in the free exchange ideas. Wonder if the IRS or DoJ will go after them ?… naaaa, I don’t think so.

Posted on July 5, 2011 at 10:47amThis is an unfounded accusation by Juan Williams.
This article clearly states that Juan Williams thinks that Media Matters destroys people’s reputations. But, doesn’t say How it is doing it.
If you are going to make an accusation, you should be able to point out at least one example.
I don’t think Media Matters should get tax exemption status, but that is a whole other topic. I don’t think any organization be it Charity or Church have tax exemptions. The only reason why I have a “Fund” is to protect my money from the IRS. I wonder how many Funds or Charities would exist without tax exemptions.

Posted on July 5, 2011 at 10:46amMedia Matters tax-exempt status should have been revoked a long time ago. All the smear organizations of George Soros et al tax-exempt status should be revoked! They’re all political organizations whose sole purpose is to orchestrate the destruction of America. Who the heck does hedgy hedgefund open borders billionaire George Soros think he is? Wasn‘t it enough that he broke the Bank of England and crippled four country’s economies? And now he wants to cripple the American Middle Class and orcheste the collapse of the dollar!
He‘s already successfully stopped America from drilling in the Gulf and he’s successfully taken all those oil-related jobs to Brazil where‘s he’s invested big-time in Petrobras!
This man is evil personified.
Isn’t there a law this traitor is breaking somewhere?!
All his smear organizations should be kicked out of America, and Soros should be given the boot too. If it wasn’t for his shadow government and web of anti-American organizations with nice-sounding names there wouldn’t be any of this pitting of the rich against the poor, and the demonizing of Americans who are successful, going on in America!
Remove the tax-exempt status of Media Matters and all the rest of the George Soros-funded organizations like the Center for American Progress, the Open Society Institute and Moveon.org and the Tides Foundation. It would take reams of paper to list all Soros’ organizations.

Posted on July 7, 2011 at 5:50pmWhen you read about Soros’ track record–destroying corporations, destroying national economies, destorying individuals, infiltrating governments, intimidating opponents, rigging elections, and on and on–you would think that somewhere he is in violation of Federal RICO laws. Maybe I am just unimaginative, but I do not see how he can destroy as many entities, and fix world events without utilizing some sort of mobster tactics. We are talking about a man who is capable of bringing down the Czech government and having his puppet (Havel) installed as Czech President. He is capable of inducing American politicians to utilize American taxpayer funds to create a fortune for himself through Brazil’s oil industry at no benefit to the U.S. I would not be at all surprised to ultimately discover that he is also behind all the “natural born citizen” shenanigans currently going on involving Obama. There seems to be no end to the greed and evil Soros is associated with.

Posted on July 5, 2011 at 10:42amMM is just a PR firm for the dems. A classless gaggle of losers who’s main focus is to silence opposing views. It’s a shame they are able to receive tax exempt status. One would think that they would love to pay taxes since it’s the tax dollar that funds the communism they seek.

Posted on July 5, 2011 at 10:33amJuan had his eyes opened when he got fired from NPR about how they really are — sort of slow to “get it” but am thankful. They’ve been doing this for a very long time and not just recently. Juan didn’t see it before apparently. Fox came to his defense greatly & he appreciated that & he likes Fox a lot.. I thought he’d finally see the Consv. viewpoints as being truthful but I still hear him say the typical liberal things about other issues. He’s still clueless about Obama and defends him….doesn’t “get it” yet. But I understand (sort of)— when people come to a philosophical, theological, political conclusion – they usually stick to it, stubbornly closing their minds to any other conclusion. He was forced to see some things but still in denial about others – I pray for him and all other libs to “see the light” before we go down to ruin totally.
