Judge Frees Former IMF Head Strauss-Kahn

Strauss-Kahn leaves the Manhattan State Supreme Court after being freed from house arrest.
NEW YORK (AP) — A judge has agreed to free former International Monetary Fund leader Dominique Strauss-Kahn without bail or home confinement in the sexual assault case against him.
The move Friday comes after prosecutors said an extensive background investigation of the accuser caused them to reassess the case.
The agreement OK’d by State Supreme Court Justice Michael Obus in Manhattan does not give Strauss-Kahn his passport back, meaning he can’t head to France anytime soon. The criminal case against him stands.
Strauss-Kahn was held without bail for nearly a week after his May arrest. He has since posted a total of $6 million in cash bail and bond and has been confined to a Manhattan town house.
He denies allegations of trying to rape a hotel housekeeper. He left the courtroom smiling, holding hands with his wife.

Not that this guy’s an angel (cause he’s not), but it looks like this situation might have been consentual and the lady herself has a lot of explaining to do. Very scary situation if this guy because the President of France that’s for sure. :)

Isn’t it strange that he was only released AFTER his replacement was confirmed.. and isn’t it a small world; his replacement spent several years in Chicago as the head of a major law firm there… wow. Having to pull back and possibly drop the charges makes them look bad, and in a high profile case very bad. If they even sense there was a payoff for her to recant they will prosecute her. I’m thinking it is what it was from the beginning… a shakedown by the maid. This guy has a lot of money and was in NY. Check on how many top models are doing escort work….he doesn’t have any need or interest in raping a maid.

Posted on July 1, 2011 at 12:59pmNo, this is not a surprise. He claimed to have been setup from the beginning. BUT, we need to make sure that we see this in light of the other article posted this morning by Jon.
Prosecutors have stated that their confidence in the victim has dropped based on her lying in her application for asylum. This does NOT mean that she lied about what Strauss-Khan did to her.
A bunch of unnamed people that were NOT authorized to speak about the case spoke about the case on the condition that the reporter not get them in trouble. I.e. they intentionally broke the rules/laws but their word is better than the vicitim’s words who *also* is alleged to have broken the words on her application for asylum.
Remember, just be cause a woman is a whore does not mean she can not be raped. Just because a woman dresses like a slut does not mean she was “asking for it.” Wait for the facts.
Whenever you read “Alleged” attached to victim you need to take a step back and evaluate who is making that statement and if that is just as alleged.
