ORLANDO, Fla. (AP/The Blaze) — The judge presiding over the Trayvon Martin shooting case has removed herself after George Zimmerman’s attorney said she had a possible conflict of interest.
Florida Circuit Judge Jessica Recksiedler recused herself Wednesday because of a potential conflict that relates to her husband.
He works with Orlando attorney Mark NeJame, who was first approached by Zimmerman’s family to represent the neighborhood watch volunteer.
But NeJame declined and referred them to Mark O’Mara, who is now representing Zimmerman. NeJame has since been hired by CNN to comment on the case.
Judge Kenneth M. Lester Jr. will preside over the case after a second judge also had a conflict.
Zimmerman is charged with second-degree murder for the Feb. 26 shooting of the 17-year-old Martin. Zimmerman said he shot Martin in self-defense after Martin attacked him. Martin was unarmed.

Posted on April 19, 2012 at 7:40amThe truth and facts will never come out in his trial, he is doomed.
Report Post »The indictment is nothing but a lie and every attorney in the nation knows it.
You don‘t have to go past the reaction of the first LEO’s on the scene to know that an assault took place. There were TWO ambulances called to the scene. The responding officers reaction was that he/she had TWO victims at the scene. The 911 tape clearly indicates that the second ambulance was cancelled upon further review of the scene.
BOTTOM LINE; an assault had clearly taken place, that puts the 2nd degree murder charge on shaky ground, and the DA knows this fact, but it is an election year and she needs the votes.
If George Zimmerman is convicted, CCW rights and self defense has been dealt a severe blow that it will never recover from, MARK MY WORD.

Posted on April 19, 2012 at 1:05amNow if Holder will recuse himself from the case bc of being bias for his master’s son, and color preferences, Zimmerman might have a halfway fair trial.

Posted on April 19, 2012 at 12:10amGive Zimmerman a point or two for asking the judge to step aside because he felt the judge was partial. Maybe with this move he will prove he is looking for justice and not just a quick trial in his favor. I support stand your ground laws and where I live we have laws that will protect families from intruders. Remember to say “I had to stop him/her because i was in fear of my childerns lives” when standing your ground with kids near by.

Posted on April 18, 2012 at 11:46pmThis whole event is about two things:
1) Stripping us of our gun rights and the right to defend ourselves.
2) Creating a justice system that rejects equal protection under the law and creates special hate crimes and creates quota type imbalances in the application of the law. Affirmative action for some victims and affirmative action for some criminals is just as immoral as it is in the hiring system.
If you sit back and put up with this crap, you will be stripped of your rights and your guns and even more amazed at how the country has gone downhill.
There are plenty of 17 year old murderers convicted in the US, so don’t tell me about innocent unarmed “kids”.

Posted on April 18, 2012 at 11:40pmThis guys life is over no matter what happens. If he is found innocent, he will be shot dead in the street by the NBP or similar group. If he is convicted, either he will be shanked in prison or if he get permanent solitary confinement, he’ll kill himself.

They will never do anything more than try to get some hot head kid to ruin his life by doing their dirty work.

Posted on April 18, 2012 at 10:29pmI have a hard time believing that Zimmerman can get a fair trial. Too many people have already condemned him in the media already. Let alone groups like the black panthers and sharpton.

Posted on April 19, 2012 at 1:10ammrsmileyface – Im glad your not Zimmerman attorney – he will be found innocent but it’s unfortunate he is in Florida – because Liberal the liberal citizens of Florida will never come to his aid! In Texas they ran the NBP Party completely out of town for trying to harass a White man that shot and killed two Burglars robbing a Neighbors home.
Don’t believe me – here is how real Men and Women come to gather to protect a Citizen

Posted on April 18, 2012 at 9:22pmAny defendant talks to the law office of her husband looking for representation and then she can not have anything to do with the case. Limits the cases she can adjourn quite a bit. But removing herself is most likely quite common for her and large number of new judges until they work out what they can rule on. Happens all the time and if this case is not an arch Duke moment no one would care.
