Judicial Watch Files Suit to Obtain Michelle Obama’s Vacation Records

At it again, the conservative watchdog group “Judicial Watch” has filed a lawsuit against the United States Air Force to obtain the records of Michelle Obama’s controversial trip to Spain. According to Tom Fitton, a member of the organization:
That this lavish trip may be a source of embarrassment for the Obamas is not a sufficient reason to stonewall the release of records. Evidently, American taxpayers were stuck with a sizable bill so Mrs. Obama could tour around Spain with her family and friends. This administration, as a supposed steward of taxpayer dollars, has an obligation to disclose the full costs of the Obama family’s luxury trip.
Specifically, Judicial Watch is requesting information on taxpayer costs associated with the vacation, and any indication of official business conducted by the First Lady while in the country. Their website recalls the event:
In August 2010, Michelle Obama and one of her daughters embarked on what the press described as a “whirlwind tour of Spain,” which included visits to coastal towns, shopping and a lunch date with the country’s King and Queen. The Obamas reportedly stayed in the luxury Hotel Villa Padierna during the vacation. As reported by The New York Times, also accompanying Mrs. Obama on the trip were “two friends and four of their daughters, as well as a couple of aides and a couple of advance staff members.”
First Lady Michelle Obama has been roundly criticized for taking such a lavish vacation when the economy had just lost 131,000 jobs, but Robert Gibbs maintained at the time that “the First Lady is on a private trip.” Records will reveal whether the trip was also privately-funded, and if so, how many “associated fees” the taxpayer picked up.

Regardless of how long they are in office, the secret service will accompany them wherever they go, for the rest of their lives. The secret service is the only thing we pay for. I would rather my tax dollars to pay for that, than comfortable jails and prisons with three meals, health care, education, computers and ipods.

If this country is suffering financially, they need to keep their butts in DC and take vacations in the USA. There are a lot of people in the country who can hardly afford to put food on their tables. The King and Queen of America dont’ need to thumb their noses at the rest of us while jet-setting around the world.

Until he retires and goes on private speaking tours, I doubt there are many legal ways to make that much. Even, his shady Chicago deals don’t account for their lavish lifestyle; so, the extra funds must be coming from somewhere; and, the presidential salary wouldn’t even dent the cost of one of these 6+ a year trips.

She attended Princeton University and was also a lawyer and work at the Sidney Law firm where they met. The salary of two lawyers is more than enough for a lavish life style and vacations whenever they want. Rich people, we can spend our money in a recession because clearly we know how to save and spend wisely. We can’t take it with us when we die. So we enjoy it while we can.

Report Post »I hope ALL states have Voter ID laws. We need ID for so many things. My teenage daughter cashed in a few savings bonds and had to have a picture ID for that! It cost us $10. Not alot of money. The only reason the Dems are worried about Voter ID Laws are because it will make elections FAIR and mean ONE VOTE PER PERSON. No dead people will be able to vote nor will Disney Characters. If it hadn’t been for a bogus election, I doubt the dictator wannabe would be usurping the White House and the new black panthers wouldn’t have been able to stand in front of polling places with billy clubs and go unchallenged! Like O himself said – “only those that have anything to hide, hide anything.” Who’s hiding something? The usurper himself!

Also the criticism of the big O taking too much vacation. How does it compare with previous presidents? Unless that is done they will be comparing apples to oranges. I’m no fan of the big O administration. In fact it is the most dangerous administration of my life time, but as with the personal attacks, to make an issue of any of this, we must know if it is irregular on both questions. Otherwise I agree it is hypocritical to complain about the progressives lying, spinning or proclaiming half truths to make an erroneous point.
