Kidnapped British Red Cross Doctor Khalil Rasjed Dale Found Beheaded in Pakistan

QUETTA, Pakistan (The Blaze/AP) — The beheaded body of a British Red Cross worker who had been held captive in Pakistan since January was found dumped in an orchard Sunday with a note attached to it saying he was killed because a ransom hadn’t been paid to his captors, police said.

Khalil Rasjed Dale, 60, was managing a health program in the city of Quetta in southwestern Pakistan when armed men seized him from the street close to his office. The identities of his captors are unknown, but the region is home to separatist and Islamist militants who have kidnapped for ransom before.

“The ICRC condemns in the strongest possible terms this barbaric act,” said its director-general, Yves Daccord.

According to Reuters, police found Dale’s head and body wrapped in plastic near a western bypass road. His name was written on the bag with black marker. The Telegraph reported his body was also riddled with bullets.

“A sharp knife was used to sever his head from the body,” Safdar Hussain, the first doctor to examine the body, said according to Reuters. “He was killed about 12 hours ago.”

Quetta police chief Ahsan Mahboob said the note attached to the body read: “This is the body of Khalil who we have slaughtered for not paying a ransom amount.”

Militants and criminal gangs often kidnap wealthy Pakistanis and less commonly foreigners.

British Foreign Secretary William Hague condemned Dale’s killing, calling it a “senseless and cruel act, targeting someone whose role was to help the people of Pakistan.”

According to the Telegraph, Dale converted to Islam 30 years ago and had worked for the Red Cross in Somalia, Afghanistan and Iraq. He had been working in Pakistan for close to a year.

Much of Baluchistan and the tribal regions close to Afghanistan are out of government control, and make good places to keep hostages. Large ransoms are often paid to secure their release, but such payments are rarely confirmed.

There are at least four other foreigners currently being held in Pakistan.

Last August, a 70-year-old American humanitarian aid worker was kidnapped from his house in the Punjabi city of Lahore. Al-Qaida claimed to be holding the man, Warren Weinstein, and said in a video he would be released if the United States stopped airstrikes in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia and Yemen.

In March, a Swiss couple held captive for eight months by the Taliban turned up at an army checkpoint close to the Afghan border. Insurgents have claimed a large ransom was paid to secure their freedom, but that has not been confirmed by Pakistani or Swiss authorities, who are unlikely to acknowledge it even if they did.

The couple was kidnapped from Baluchistan province, of which Quetta is the capital.

      Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Colonel Alexander Kucherenko publically announced this 24-21 May “anti-terror drill” this Friday past noting that this will be the first time Russian airborne forces have held exercises with the US airborne forces on US territory. Colonel Kucherenko stated, “According to the exercise scenario, soldiers of the two countries will hold a tactical airborne operation, including the reconnaissance of imaginary terrorists’ camp and a raid. After the operation, a helicopter will evacuate the soldiers.” He further added that Russian airborne troops would be training with US special service weapons in these drills in Fort Carson, Colorado.
      According to reports, the U.S. and Russian military will be engaging in an anti-terrorism exercise that will involve Russian paratroopers using U.S. weapons to “take and hold” the main facilities of the CIA and Denver International Airport in Colorado and the National Security Agency in Utah.
      Puzzling to Russian military analysts about this exercise, this report says, are that according to the American plans, Russian airborne troops (using US weapons that they had previously trained with at Fort Carson) will fly to and then parachute from their planes having the objectives of seizing the CIA’s main computer facility in Denver, the NSA’s main computer facility in Bluffdale, Utah, and taking control of main runways and terminals of the Denver International Airport.

      I am afraid we no longer have power guys….when was the last time your vote counted?
      Our government used to fear us… We used to be able to vote them out because we had 3 branches we could turn to….no longer.
      We used to have a good sane militia we could turn to but now they are all gone. (The ones who are left are crazy and hunger for war). We have guns but theirs are bigger. They have your young boys in the military that we used to SWEAR would not turn on their own but do we really think they would not follow orders? We used to have our neighbors to stand with us but can we count on them??? I do not think they fear us but rather I think we the people now fear them!!!
      It used to be that we could say our leaders represented us and the constitution…..
      We could stand … We have to stand…. But I do not see victory ahead…. I think folks we are trapped now. Our leaders seem to be at best in bed with our enemy’s. I will vote because I have to believe it will matter. Do we really think it is not already to late though?!
      Do you guys remember the movie “Red Dawn”? It would be better if that is how we were taken over because we could at least see the faces of our captors and have even a slim hope that we could resist but truly what can be done here guys? All branches of govt. are as wicked as a bent stick!

      Regarding this story: The Red Cross worker was British, not American. True, Ron Paul probably wouldn’t ever be in Pakistan. Of all the candidates, Ron Paul is the ONLY one who would NOT have given the order to kill Bin Laden. Therefore, all the victims and family members and friends and all TRUE Americans still would not have justice for 9-11. Killing Bin Laden is the ONLY thing Obama did right! (It’s the only part of his record that he can run on!) Romney is VERY strong on defense and the military. He believes (like Reagan) in peace through strength. He believes in strength being a deterrent to war. He won’t apologize for America. He’s not a war-monger like Santorum and Gingrich, however, he understands the importance of the military. Romney will bring our troops home, but he won’t tell the enemy in advance when he will do so. He won’t let the deaths of those who were killed be for naught.

      @Ashes to Ashes, I watched the hour long video about Obama changing his name. It is some scary stuff, and the guy seems to be loaded with information, but if I could prove this one thing, I‘d say it’s a bunch of bull: I’ve heard several people say that Kapiolani Maternity and Gynecological Hospital did not exist at the time Obama was born, however, Wikipedia (yeah, I know that it might not be the most reliable source!) says that in 1931 Kapiolani Hospital changed it’s name to Kapiolani Maternity and Gynocological Hospital:

      Thank you for those videos. The “Rumors of War III” was excellent and well put together. I guess between listening to Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh and keeping up with the news, I’m pretty well educated because not much of it was that new. The part about the EMT’s was pretty new, however. If “mutually assured destruction” worked during the Cold War, I would think we could figure out a way to do the same with EMT’s.

      Regarding Romney, just because both parties have been infiltrated, that doesn’t mean Romney is one of them! After all, he is the ONLY candidate that is not a career politician, therefore, he has much less of a chance of being corrupted.

      @Razlord, I do not think Obama is who he says he is. It’s just that the statements the guy said about the birth certificate number being blacked out simply is not true. All people have to do is spend 5 minutes looking at the birth certificate themselves to see the number. (Which is why I posted a link showing the actual birth certificate that Obama disclosed.)
      I do think that Congress needs to speak out LOUDLY about what Obama has been doing lately. The videos explain why we haven’t been seeing Congress do just that. I think they will be held accountable during their next election, but we can’t blame them for everything. Why aren’t WE protesting outside the Capitol????

All Christians are going to need to be praying for divine intervention because this is Satan’s handiwork. This much evil has never been so entrenched in our White House.       The foreign aid has it’s place, provided that it is based on rational analysis of what would be gotten as return, but not when the whole country has a 15T debt hanging over heads. That is insanity.
