Kids Make Stupid Mistakes: Perry Slams Obama Admins Reaction to Urinating Marine Scandal

AP

Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry on Sunday criticized the Obama administration for its “over-the-top rhetoric” in condemning a video that appears to show four U.S. Marines urinating on the corpses of Taliban fighters.

Perry said on CNN’s “State of the Union” the administration’s reaction is indicative of its “disdain for the military.”

Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have both strongly condemned the video, with Panetta calling it “utterly deplorable” and Clinton calling it “absolutely inconsistent with American values.” Both said those responsible will be held accountable, according to USA Today.

Kids Make Stupid Mistakes: Perry Slams Obama Admins Reaction to Urinating Marine Scandal

The Texas governor said the Marines involved “made a mistake” and should be reprimanded for it, but not get hit with criminal charges.

“18, 19-year-old kids make stupid mistakes all too often and that‘s what’s occurred here,” Perry said. “To call it a criminal act I think is over the top.”

I would like to know WHO released this video for world- wide exposure and its tsunami of anti-American rhetoric. Have a feeling it was some Far Left , Obama person. Not supporting the actions being seen in this 29 second video, but would love to know the motivation behind its release which seems like a typical move by the I Hate America Club . Who released this ? Representative Issa, is this is your purview to investigate ?

I think we should avoid war that is not an immediate threat to us as much as possible, but on the other hand i have to agree with Alen West….and i guess even Perry…hahaha, War is hell. And i would even go a step further and say I don’t even see a problem with taking trophies from the men who were just trying to kill them. I wouldn’t say desecrate the bodies….like taking fingers, but take that AK47.

For desecrating the bodies there should be a disciplinary action but to make them out to be criminals is just dumb. We don’t criminalize the criminals we have in D.C. right now.

For taking trophies….there should be no action taken at all….I don’t know what the rules are, but being the Pansie country we are now I am sure there are rules against it.

While I agree that kids make stupid mistakes…
While I agree that people are being too hard on these MEN…
They ARE MEN… They are not CHILDREN.
We are trying to keep our children, children, and stop them from growing up.
They have taken on the responsibility of defending me and you from an enemy who would see us all dead. They are MEN. Young? Yes. But MEN, nonetheless.
These men have had to live for months, if not years, with the constant threat of being killed. They have seen their best friend’s face get blown off! They have had their buddies blood on their own faces after the high-power rifle blew their friends brains out. They have had to carry their buddies to safety after their buddies’ legs were blown off.
So, berating and second-guessing them is as inappropriate as their actions were.
What did you do when you were in the exact same situation?
Oh, you weren’t? You haven’t been there? You sat at home all safe and cozy thanks to these men?
You whined that you couldn’t afford the new iPad? That your parents wouldn’t buy you a $250 pair of jeans?

Sure, they shouldn’t have done it.
      No, we don’t condone it.
But we SHOULD acknowledge the complete CONTEXT of their actions.

Hillary Clinton, you know the that was named after Sir Hillary that claimed Mt. Everest, except he climbed it several years after her birth, yes, and the same one who was ducking enemy fire in Bosnia while the welcoming bad played at her arrival, both a couple of the many lies she tells to glamorize or puff up her self worth, is a damnable liar, deceiver and a destructive force pretty much the same calibre as the Imposter-in-Chief. Their ultra leftist ideology and agenda needs to be uprooted, tossed out and buried as soon as possible, preferably before their exit from office and eventual demise. They are both a couple pieces of work, disrespecting and continually berating our fine military, and recently collaborated to jettison the “Don’t ask, Don’t tell policy”, which will only contribute further to deterioration and destruction of our military.
As far as the soldiers pi$$ing on the dead Taliban, Don’t really have a major problem with that both in light of what the Taliban barbarians have done to our soldiers, as well as the fact that we need to let the enemy know not to frigging mess with us. I am a blood and guts Gen Patton and General MacArthur type. If you are going to war, and your enemy cannibalizes our troops, then you let them know to not “f” with us. Mark Levin pretty much says the same thing. War is Hell. it5′s not a tip toe through the tulips endeavor. The despoiling of bodies during war is clearly an infringement as outlined both in the 1906 and 1947 statues of THE GENEVA CONVENTION.

The US Prides itself in having the best and most professional military. These 3 guys were wrong, they literally pissed on the professionalism and basic moral tenants of the Geneva Convention observed by the 99% of the men and women who serve this country honorably. With that, whatever standards are set in the court of Military Rules should be observed. For Perry to dismiss as youthful indiscretion as if a harmless prank, he should damn well know better that the US is peerless in time of war both in conduct on and off the battlefield. You seriously don’t seem to understand that Bush and his cronies screwed up the economy so bad that if no for BO, the country would have gone into another great depression. You also don’t seem to understand that Bush lied when he claimed there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq…and that is why we are in this war. This war has nothing to do with honor or protecting our country, the only thing that this war has done is spend our tax dollars and make rich people richer. All the rich want to do is make money, they don’t care whose children have to die, as long as it’s not their children. Ever hear of deferment? It‘s time for you and everyone like you to open your closed little minds and realize what’s really going on. The rich are trying to eliminate the middle class and people like you are laying down the red carpet for them. Use your brains and think!!!!! People like you don’t seem to understand anything until it affects you personally. When you lose your social security, medicare and pension, will you finally understand that conservatism promotes the propaganda of the rich? Wise up!!!!

As a Veteran, I understand it’s bad enough experiencing combat, but as a society we sometimes need to take a look at the long term effects of combat and PTSD.

The progressive socialist definition of a crime.

Any act by any person that does not further the progressive socialist agenda is a crime.

Any act by any person to further the progressive socialist agenda can not be deemed a crime.

Example: ATF buys guns from a gun dealer under the guise of a government sting operation. Gun dealer believes he is assisting the government in a sting operation.

ATF illegally allows the guns to go to Mexico and fall into the hands of Mexican drug dealers and smugglers.

      Who is the criminal?

The gun dealer for selling guns to the ATF, even though what happened after the ATF received the guns was completely out of his control.

What was the progressive spin on this situation. We needed to prove that guns sold in the US were being taken to Mexico and being sold the Mexican drug gangs. More reason why these types of arms should not be sold by dealers.

No mention of the illegal acts of the ATF for allowing the guns to go across the border. That’s not a crime because it furthered their agenda. No mention of the border patrol officer that was murdered by an illegal who was able to obtain one of the weapons purchased by the ATF.

We have set back for the last 50 years and allowed crimes against the people to be committed on a daily basis, believing the progressive socialist and their media propaganda at every turn.

If we don’t change the direction of our country now, it will be too late.

Re: “Obama sending our men’s bodies to the trash dump”,…uhmm…you DO realize that started under Bush, right? And Obama himself, heck, not even the guys in upper military knew anything about it. I’m NOT a fan of Obama; but I also believe in TRUTH.
AS for the Marines in the video-my brother, a 35 year vet who recently retired after seeing more than his share of battle said the same thing as one of the commentators here that it IS a Criminal offense, both under USMC rules of engagement AND the Geneva Convention. His PRIMARY concern is how it will be used for propaganda as the Abu Graib pix were.
It is NOT ACCEPTABLE to put our other Sons and Daughter’s lives at stake out of “PERSONAL” revenge!!!

No, they don’t. You’re repeatedly drilled about the Geneva Convention in the service, and blatant disregard for orders should be treated as such. There is no justification for this in a civilized society. Would your Jesus condone this? Becoming what you fight is stupid and irresponsible. Also, they shouldn’t be police, combat vets have the wrong mentality for law enforcement.

This administration comes unglued when our military does something to our enemies (yes, enemies), but blithely blows it off when they do something to our military (beheadings, dragging through the streets of Mogadishu). Let the military discipline these men. Our dear leaders in Washington should worry about their own inappropriate behavior and leave the military to do its job. Those in DC get a slap on the wrist for criminal behavior. The last I heard, theft and corruption were crimes.

You got that one right bro. The crimes and corruption that go on in Washington D.C. should be criminal activities, but nothing happens, they continue to get all the perks, their retirement, all medical etc.
The things Bill & Hill Clinton did is probably worse than what these brave marines did.
As I remember, the Clinton admin. super glued all the keys on computers, stole furniture, and made a
mess of the White House when they left. That’s nothing compared to the illicit activities that went on at that time. Our men take a whiz and all hell breaks loose. Not a good thing to do,but….give ‘em a break. War is Hell! It changes peoples perspective, plus having to deal with it for months on end.

Everyone needs to back off on these troops. You are in a different psychological state of mind when you are in a fight to the death. They are doing what they were trained to do, hate their enemy so they can kill them. Human beings can’t just turn on and off that type of emotion. If these troops are prosecuted it just makes our combat troops that much more psychologically more vulnerable. Hurting the troop moral will get them killed. I don‘t expect everyone that hasn’t been in combat to understand, but you can listen to the ones who have.
Thank you, Mr. Perry for your support for these Marines. Our civilian leaders need to protect our troops so that they can protect Americans.

I am appalled by this “outrage” of both the Obama administration and the Afghan government. Apparently, they are more concerned with an inappropriate peeing than Taliban disguising themselves as civilians or using women and children as bombers to blow up non-combatants. While I think the incident itself shows there are some serious leadership lapses, nothing shown rises to the level of many the atrocities committed against US and coalition troops and civilians.

I would rather have seen WOMEN peeing on them, now THAT would have caused the liberals to be conflicted!

      Why is it so deplorable?

We are dealing with an enemy that believes 110% that they are superior to everyone else and are willing to murder us in brutal ways to prove it.

They have centuries of honor codes that only respond to force and humilation. We think that because we value sportsmanship that they will be wowed by our generous respect?

This is why we are losing. Our leaders bow to theirs, they apologize to them for every offense and they turn our military heros into little more than security guards.

We NEED to show them who is in charge and we NEED to knock them down a few notches.

Otherwise we will spend the rest of our lives listening to talking heads discuss “why they hate us” with boring lectures on multiculturalism while they are busy blowing us up one country at a time.
