‘Kill the Police’: Cops Arrest Hundreds of Occupy Oakland Protestors After Street Clashes

(The Blaze/AP)– Police arrested hundreds of Occupy Oakland protesters last Saturday night for failing to disperse hours after officers used tear gas on over a thousand demonstrators who threw rocks and flares at them and tore down fences.
More help from other police agencies arrived on scene for the mass arrests, with busloads of Alameda County sheriff’s deputies arriving in the downtown area late Saturday night.

Here is video taken from the livestream that shows police warning protestors that mass arrests are about to begin (content warning for profanity):
Police Sgt. Christopher Bolton said the arrests came after protesters marched through downtown Oakland a little before 8 p.m. Saturday, with some of them entering a YMCA building.
At different moments on the livestream video, protestors could be heard yelling “Kill the police” and “F**k the police.”

Earlier in the day, police used tear gas and “flash” grenades on the group Saturday afternoon after some demonstrators threw rocks and other objects at them. Police said three officers were hurt, but they released no details.

Police said the group assembled at a downtown plaza Saturday morning, with demonstrators threatening to take over the vacant Henry Kaiser Convention Center. The group then marched through the streets, disrupting traffic. The crowd grew as the day wore on, with afternoon estimates ranging from about 1,000 to 2,000 people.
Oakland Police also deployed batons to deal with rowdy protestors, as seen below:
The protesters walked to the vacant convention center, where some started tearing down perimeter fencing and “destroying construction equipment” shortly before 3 p.m., police said.
Police said they issued a dispersal order and used smoke and tear gas after some protesters pelted them with bottles, rocks, burning flares and other objects.

Most of the day-time arrests were made when protesters ignored orders to leave and assaulted officers, police said. By 4 p.m., the bulk of the crowd had left the convention center and headed back downtown.
The demonstration comes after Occupy protesters said earlier this week that they planned to move into a vacant building and turn it into a social center and political hub. They also threatened to try to shut down the port, occupy the airport and take over City Hall.
In a statement Friday, Oakland City Administrator Deanna Santana said the city would not be “bullied by threats of violence or illegal activity.”
Interim police Chief Howard Jordan also warned that officers would arrest those carrying out illegal actions.

The national Occupy Wall Street movement, which denounces corporate excess and economic inequality, began in New York City in the fall but has been largely dormant lately.
Oakland, New York and Los Angeles were among the cities with the largest and most vocal Occupy protests early on. The demonstrations ebbed after those cities used force to move out hundreds of demonstrators who had set up tent cities.
In Oakland, the police department received heavy criticism for using force to break up earlier protests. Among the critics was Mayor Jean Quan, who said she wasn‘t briefed on the department’s plans. Earlier this month, a court-appointed monitor submitted a report to a federal judge that included “serious concerns” about the department’s handling of the Occupy protests.

Well, President Obama is one of the rich, as are ALL of the more prominent Progressives. These people are stuck on stupid, or do they really believe that the Obamas, Pelosies, Reids, and Bidens are primed to spread their enormous wealth to the great unwashed. None of them would ever have the slightest contact with any of them.
They only care about the power and wealth they have amassed, and don’t give a wit about John and Jane Doe. The ONLY reason they want Unions to continue, is to collect the millions from them.

But while I was watching these videos, i couldn’t help but think “What if this was not OWS? What if this were a legit group of people who were very pro-America (the real America, not what we have become) Constitution, Small government people who were voicing their frustration in what we are turning into?”
These OWS people really are the tools, that will be used to gain public support for a police state. I feel like I am being tricked into supporting something I am totally against, just because I can’t stand the OWS movement. Most who are not involved, or disagree with this movement are probably saying “haha” or just ignoring it totally. I don’t even know what to do, except stating what i think right now, because in no way do I want to support OWS ideas…

What is the difference? Teaparty people have pride, are decent, either have jobs or are retired, and are committed to trying to bring change the right way. Not the libs way. Not the democrats way. AND NOT OBAMA’S WAY!!!!

I understand all that and agree that the tea party people have been peaceful, and get the permits, and leave the places clean…..BUT hypothetically speaking lets say you gather a million people on the mall, because lets say a president finds a way to trick all the sheeple into thinking that elections are wack and we don’t need them anymore…..(obviously they are good at creating atmospheres, so there would be a bunch of events that slowly get the sheeple on the public opinion band wagon) So you have your million people on the mall, and you are going to be peaceful, and the people in power know you are going to be peaceful and in the end not do anything just go home when your permit is expires, so your message means nothing when they know this and the media will be spinning it the whole time you are there…..just in case something happens…..
There are no lines drawn in the sand….we just conform, complain and vilify those who resist (”Ohh that guy was just a nut job, anyone who would do something like that could never be one of us!!”). No i’m not advocating violence. I don’t want that…I just want to get back to pursing my happiness which seems almost impossible right now. Spontaneous? Don’t think so. Pretty expensive cameras used by Occupyiers in the front areas where confrontations with the police are observed – not talking about $200. or $300. cameras, more like $700. or $800. or beyond. Protesters are taking badge numbers and some protestors appear to know certain officers names.
Definitely going to get worse and it seems to be their objectives. Won’t be long before some people are likely to get killed, Particularly if some of the useful idiots in the crowd start brandishing guns, or actually firing at police.
Interesting to be a fly on the walls of offices where Obama meets with some of the instigators and leaders of support groups, like SEIU, AFL-CIO, and other various organizations and their leaders. I found another vid from today filmed right up front. You can hear someone yell “SHOOT TO KILL” and you can see they were moving against the police with organization. The guy filming it also tells the occupiers to NOT throw things at the cops so they were instigating it for sure! Watch the vid closely you will see their shields that have anarchy symbols on them and they move as if they were trained on how to engage the police!!
This is the key to unlock folks who is organizing them where are they learning this? When I saw it the first ting that came to mind was the scenes from ‘Gladiator’ how the slaves were being organized by the former Roman General Maximus. The left with the willing EPA and other three letter organizations have severely reduced the state’s capacity to be an agriculture giant. As the farming dies off so do some of the tax payments. Too many other tax producing corporations have been packing up and moving out of the state by droves further reducing the taxes coming from the state. Hollywood, which probably makes the most money of all have more self protecting ways to keep from paying taxes at all, yet further reducing tax revenues. You are living in the past with your wishful thinking. California has gotten to the point that it cannot support itself and yet their politicians to this day still find ways to frivolously give away the money they don’t have. Sound familiar…yeah, like 0bama and the left wing loons in the federal government too.

I plan to stay in Alabama for the rest of my life. Having lived in California, New York, and Florida I am not happy here.
